You seem to have the first video on RU-vid about this cooler, so thanks for sharing quickly! I am worried about the sturdiness of the extendable handle. Can you share more about that?
The handle seems pretty robust. I have had cheap Coleman coolers with the handles, and this is light years ahead. When extended, it doesn't trist or rattle around. I really like that it can be extended and the lid can be opened all the way.
My Lagoon color RTIC 45 wheeled cooler came in yesterday. It's a beast, bigger in person than the video. I also ordered the divider and dry goods basket. I will say that fully loaded this cooler will likely be a two person job to load on a truck. I will test to see if we can get in a sedan. Hopefully, we have a pool day Saturday so I can put it to the test. Looks like a 100 degree day out here in Texas. The wheels seem very solid as well as the handle. The RTIC handle did not move around as much as the Roadie 60 handle I tried out at Academy. This is def a roto molded cooler, not the injection molded. Even Yeti is making the new Roadies injection, not roto. If weight is a concern, this cooler is 33 lbs on its own.
I went ahead and ordered this cooler in the Lagoon color since it's on sale 40 bucks cheaper (229) than the other colors. I also ordered a dry goods basket and the divider. Hopefully, it will come in time for our pool day Saturday! The last cooler I ordered from Rtic crapped out after 3 years of very light use. The stitching on the inside of a soft cooler started coming apart. I was eyeing the Roadie 48 but not easy to want to pay in the 500 dollar neighborhood once you add a divider. I was able to get this cooler, basket, divider, and a RTIC lunchbag for my kid's school right at 305.
When the cooler is flat on the ground, the wheels are also touching. I understand your concern, but I feel the axle is strong enough to hold the weight
@@Wyatt_M140 thank you for your reply. That is a feature that Yeti incorporated in their cooler of this style. Sad to see that Rtic did not follow but the price difference may be worth taking the chance. Thank you for your assessment on the durability of the wheel/axle if sitting on the cooler.
Hey... Where did you get that white plastic tray?... Its not on the rtic website, they only have the black wire racks which aren't compatible with this new 45 qrt
