I think the real reason Minecraft is so popular is because it is kinda what we actually want. before all this modern technology we used to be like this, gathering resources and making stuff. It is like an innate desire for us which is now possible through games like Minecraft ..

omg this is so perfect. Vanilla minecraft, with just the right touches - like the mod to quickly cut trees and the awesome graphics of course. Early gameplay - nature, not enchanted-diamonds-grade equipment. Smooth gameplay without any cuts, no commentary, sped up in just the right places. Amazing, satisfying, relaxing work, keep in up!

It's because of the bad CPU usage of Minecraft, it mainly and I think only? uses CPU and this kills your frames, mainly in the newer versions of MC, and this combined with the new terrain generation 💀

I have a 3080, and if I had a 4090, I would use it to play Minecraft without shaders, but with the chunk render distance at 64 at all times. The realism of seeing the world not fade out is more of an impact than water that looks pretty but that's just me.

wouldnt really do much as the thing is so CPU bound you will still get stutters. Also you may as well just use Distant horizons mod and play at well over 256 chunks. Heck I have pushed it further and it still runs well.

Yeah the best way I've found to alleviate the CPU bottleneck is to always run your world on a private server. $50/month as the expense, but the world being generated and ran on a separate machine is far more impactful than spending that money on a CPU upgrade.
