RTX 4090 24GB - geni.us/yqd4
The RTX 4060 is faster than a RX 7600, slower than a RX 6700 XT, unless you use Ray Tracing, in which case it's similar in performance to the 6700 XT. It is limited by the 8GB of VRAM however, so only buy it for 1080p.
The RX 7600 just launched, it's similar in performance to the RX 6650 XT while having newer technology, I would opt for the 7600 over a 6650 XT at a similar price.
The RX 6700 XT is the best price to performance card on the market today (July 2023), but it won't last long, the 7700 XT is coming and probably will be $100 more, for a bit more performance.
The RTX 4070 is similar in performance to the RX 6800 XT, while having less VRAM, costing $100 more, and consuming less power. It does have NVidia features like DLSS and better Ray Tracing.
The RTX 4090 isn't really part of this conversation, but it's the only card that truly is in a league of its own. Absolutely next-gen performance, it's the one 40 series card that actually delivers a gen-over-gen performance boost that is exciting, if you can afford it.

Hot Take: Had the RTX 4060 launched for $199, it would have been a monster of a deal, crushing the competition and made NVidia look like a hero to millions of people. Agree or disagree?

considering the '60 price evolution over gens i was surprised to find 300 already being a deal -- and the perf. is likely more than sufficient for 1080p 60 Hz thus 1440p more VRAM would be nice yes.

I've always liked his content because he doesn't focus on the highest end gear, but instead the gear that most people are purchasing. I enjoy linus but when everything is a 4090 it's just really out of touch with the average gamer who's buying a 50/60/70 series of card because that's what their budget is. This is tech deals bread and butter and I really enjoy the content made for that.

@@ApexLodestar with overclocking and undervolting and tweaking of memory, CPU and GPU you 'might' gain a few extra FPS. If it gets you over 60 fps in your chosen title than it can be worth it. But for the most part it's not worth the time and hassle. Unless you enjoy that side of things more than the gaming itself of course. I simply undervolt my 6700XT a little to save power and heat and that's it.
@ApexLodestar
@ApexLodestar Год назад
@@Mopantsu I've tweaked the memory. It's a 32GB 3600C16 kit. Tighten the XMP timings a bit from 16-19-19-39 to 16-18-18-36 but I've also tweaked the secondary and sub timings as well. So, it's much faster than it was at stock. As for the GPU, I've simultaneously overclocked and undervolted the RX 6700 XT before and got a nice fps boost. I had it set to 2800MHz(clock)/2100MHz(memory) with voltage set to 1100mv. But I usually run everything stock except XMP timings.

I always been Nvidia fan I don't mind paying extra for technology and not performance, but I'm not a sheep and they crossed the line in my opinion, the line of paying more, getting less, when they put 8 gb vram on 4060ti and barely make it better than 3060ti, the 6700XT was a no brainer even tho i could afford a 4070, it was overkill for 1080p and the price was a joke, so yeah untill nvidia comes up with something better im enjoying my 6700XT with 12gb vram, i payed 330 dollars for it and quite satisfied

Used RX 6800 XT 16GB for £400 in the UK. Absolute bargain and will smash 1080p ultra (even beats the 3070 and 3070 ti in RT) for many years to come. I’m fine with my 360hz 1080p screen. I mainly play esport FPS and 3rd PS games at 1080p with a minimum of 200 FPS and a maximum of 600 FPS. Also you are less likely to get a used mining card in the UK because electricity is expensive. The 6800 XT can be undervolted as well to save some electricity.

Dealing with footage from 1080 - 4K. I saw what I thought was a reasonably priced laptop at Costco with a 4060 and wondered if I should go with the cheaper option but it looks like the 4060 isn't up to par. Is trying to future proof for another couple of years with the 4090 in a laptop overkill? Part of me is wondering if the heat distribution in the laptop will sink the card quickly. I am not an expert of the technology but a personal/commercial user. Any sound advice is appreciated. Thank you! PS Also a gamer :D

If am5 get a good x670e or b650e board to have both gpu and nvme slot and pcie 5. And good nvme. Chip am5 7700x or 7800x3d if youbare upgrading later. @RRRRRRRRR33
@RRRRRRRRR33 Год назад
Yep, the wisest approach is to wait, we barely have true next gen games in the market. Last of Us for example, it is a early release for the PS5 that is not super demanding if you think about it, a GTX 1060 can run this game in a very decent way 1080p, 45fps, custom settings, etc.. it almost looks like the PS5 port. However, the PS5 is reaching it's mid cycle, the requirements for Silent Hill 2 are truly scary, lol so we have to wait and see, most likely the RX 6700 XT will not be enough to run the PS5 generation at 1440p, medium settings (which is my target)

It's almost like the 4070 and 4060 should have been a lower sku each. Like the class of GPU chip and vram amount the 4070 uses lines up with what the 3060 uses from it's generation. And the same happens with the 4060 to the 3050. Also looks like a lot of rdna2 stock is starting to sell out. Many models are harder to find. I've watched over the last few months. The last week or two less and less new rdna2 cards are available. This has actually caused used rdna2 prices to stop dropping and start slowly climbing.

I have a B550 MB, Ryzen 3900X, 32GB of DDR4 and a 3070. I run a successful auto detailing business and recently started making videos for social media to help grow the online presence of my business. I want a new PC to edit videos with Premiere Pro. Should I go for a new Ryzen 9 or a 14900k? If so what GPU? DDR5 or DDR4? I know my current PC is ok but I want something new. I don’t play games but I do record music (guitar) as a hobby.

How long will it would POSSIBLY last in 1440p AAA games? high/ultra settings, FPS/RPG, Ive had ZERO driver issues & this is my 1st GPU. I may go 7900xt later in the year when prices drop further. Great video as always.

Both 7900 xt (great value now) and xtx look like nice options, Am considering them myself though I may do cpu upgrade then gpu afterwards once again (seems to be my pattern for my usage).

@@dianaalyssa8726 true. I've always been taught to always focus on GPU performance when it comes to games in the past few years but after looking at CPU benchmarks, the FPS gap becomes wider and wider in CPU bound games like ryzen 5600 vs 7600 for example. I've learned that most benchmarks are always tested at highest settings but as you know, the difference in visual quality between highest/ultra and high is not that much to justify say 30% loss in FPS. I found myself playing a lot of indie and non AAA games which are less demanding on the GPU side. If I were to upgrade my 2060S to 6700xt rn, I'd have to factor a new mobo + cpu set or there will be noticeable performance hit due to CPU bottleneck(i5 10600)

First - I actually liked and replied when you said it in the video (and I rarely do so). So maybe a better choice to do it randomly mid content. Second - I love your rambling and would prefer this kind of content mixed with a long form scrippted one thrown in every now and then. Third - No matter what you'll produce I'll watch it so on that hand do whatever you want :D

Really enjoyed the video! Speaking as someone still rocking a build from 2017 (8700K/GTX1080) and looking to upgrade the gpu I had been hoping to get the RTX 4080. Since it's so power efficient it would slot into my system as is but the pricing has been so outlandish I've just been sitting on the sidelines waiting to see if they drop 15-20% in price to what seems reasonable. If not I'll just keep playing the backlog titles I have until I can build another system that will last years. Looking forward to the next video!

I would not put a 4080 on an 8700k. You can, but it’s out of place. Wait one more year, new CPUs and GPUs are coming next year.

@@TechDeals You've made me genuinely reconsider. I'm quite eager for an upgrade now to play some newer titles with RT (CP2077, hogwarts, forza motorsport, miles morales) so I think I may go with the 4070 as an end of life upgrade that I can use over on a new cpu build when the 8800x3d or whatever comes out.

I've always liked using emulators over the years and after seeing the Yuzu teams warning on 4060 Ti performing worse than a 3060 Ti in their testing with the emulator (due to 128 bit bus) I just hope Nvidia isn't as anti consumer with their 5060 series cards.

The only reason I would get the 40 series is that it uses less power. If I didn't care about power consumption, I would go with the 30 series. It just makes me feel better knowing I'm using less power.

I've been using my recently purchased RX 6700 XT (same ASUS TUF Gaming OC Version you showed on screen), which I got off Ebay for £260 ($320), and it works SO well! Most of my gaming is on a 49" LG 4K TV, Game Mode, and set to 1080p, (Ryzen 5 5600X, 32GB RAM) and it plays Diablo IV in Ultra without a hitch! Bargain even now!

i am little bit confused about TDP, was not mentioned in video. i play not lot and only 1080p/60 fps and would like to play on ultra/ very high setting. i ordered 3060 ti, 4060 and i think about 6700 xt, but 230 TDP! I dont really know, what to buy. Everything is now about 300-350€ and i am old nvidia user and like it. i am scared to swith to AMD and i think i will take 3060 ti, but would like to have more then 8gb for future. I have now 2060 and i think its time to say goodbye. I think , that i will try or three and then buy one of them.

But yeah, I didn't even know those high-end 20 series and 30 series in general cards existed until I first saw your channel back around spring of 2021 was it? *While searching for graphics card testings and saw your 16 Graphics Card one while thinking of that 1660 Super in the Skytech pre-built at the time.*

I picked up a 6700xt a few weeks ago. It's the best deal right now. Bundled with RE4 remake and it does ray tracing just fine in that game with settings maxxed. 1080p, average 80fps, lows in high 50's

this card is a beast even at 1440p. Don't have to crank the settings up to max as I've been seeing comparison between ultra and high preset. There are a lot of optimized settings people made that gives FPS boost over non/barely noticeable in visual quality. I'd say lower the settings a bit and get a bigger 1440p monitor. Coming from 1080p, the experience is a whole new level at least thats what I feel lol.

Thanks, Have a 1060 and 3060 12gb still. Not impressed much with 4060/Ti. However most games I run are more cpu intensive than gpu. I would say the main difference is not having to dial down settings, make sure rt is off etc. My friend with a 3090 (10900k) really doesn't have to check his settings the way I always do each patch/whenever I have to reset them.

I have a Gigabyte RXX6600 Eagle in one of my older gaming PC's, matched with a 10th Gen i5. It's still a great gaming PC and I still use it with my ultrawide 48 inch monitor. I allow it to suck 20% more power in the 'Adrenalin' software. I run it at 3840 x 1080 and use it for the games/sims ..... American Truck Simulator & Euro Truck Simulator 2, I can run these games with the graphic settings maximum, and even the 400% scaling. It runs pushing the system to the max, but it runs smooth and no crashes or choppy FPS, the FPS never goes under 64 FPS in really demanding scenes. Cheers.
