Having had my 4080 for several months now, I'm comfortable saying that it's a competent 4K GPU (the 16GB version anyway). I think Cyberpunk in particular is far enough of ahead of its time that even the highest end GPUs can dip below an acceptable 60fps. There's no card right now that can run path tracing without DLSS. Most hardware surveys seem to show that those players with access to DLSS capable GPUs are utilizing the feature. I personally do as well. I think DLSS 3 in particular has really ironed out some of the prior issues.
@@Ked778To be fair, looking at a gpu that you paid for 1200 dollars and reaching around 60fps maxed everything on 1080p is just sad, since with this card, you would at least be expecting it to reach at that level of fps on 1440p, not to mention that the increase in fps over the generations don’t even stack up correctly with how they price it, now ik it’s because of the world shortages ( I beg to differ) but it shouldn’t have such a huge price point when team red’s performance are almost on par with nvidia’s lineup, not close with the rtx 4090 though.
@@Niiidil Btw both the 7900XT and 7900XTX are more expensive than the 4080 in my country therefore idc about the prices they are being sold in the US. It's the same story when it comes to AMD CPUs with the 7700x being around 15-20usd more expensive than the 13700K

Hey Kryzzp! Just want to say I really enjoy these videos and they have helped me choose what parts I want for my pc. I hope I can try to make videos like yours in the future too! Anyway have a good day!
Great video! For people who don't think this is a 4k card what in the hell are they thinking? If a card can run 4k at 60fps its a 4k card in my book. My 2070 Super hits 60fps in Cyberpunk at 4k with high settings/performance DLSS and a few tweaks and it look amazing. I'm looking at getting almost your exact build to get ready for the Cyberpunk expansion and Starfield to run at fps closer to 100. Thanks again!
I thought you had ray tracing on in the beginning but the reflections already look so good even without rt I forget how good this game looks sometimes after seeing it at low
I was thinking of upgrading my 3060 Ti to a 4080 but with such bad performance I don't know anymore. My 3060 Ti gets 62+ FPS on 4K with Performance DLSS on High Settings without Ray Tr. The Performance isn't great from all the new 4000 cards at all 😑
@@asaneouji15 I buy it if it happens to drop at 999.- or below, I'm not going to pay a 4 digits number for a graphics card, even here in Switzerland it's a very very high price, I can't even imagine what it's like in countries like Germany where wages are 3 times as low... 😞
@@thenoobgamer2448 ...oh 69 fps in the menu, nice and good stuff now let's load in the game aaaaand, it's not looking good guys Cyberpunk is a mess and I will sue CDPR
Greetings, which was your previous GPU? I just can't understand if i want to buy 4070 or 3070, or maybe get some more money and buy 4080/4070 ti (there is no 3080 that i can buy rn and 4070 ti seems more viable as it provides good FPS with RT on in a bunch of games and costs 200$ less than 4080) so i'm looking for somebody who can give me a hand with dis question
@@thehound148 yo my guy i dont know if you already bought the gpu but my advice is: if you can get the 4080 just do it... you know how many years you are going to enjoy such a beautiful experience??? imagine not having to worry ever again for the quality of graphics... you just set it to ultra and never touch it again... i bought a 7900xtx and man is a really beautiful card but is really hot and the coil whine wont help... so i refunded... now im waiting for the money back and going for an 4080 FE without a doubt... remember life is only one why should we save money if you are going to spend it in other silly stuff... just enjoy while you can.
@@MambiTV97 Thanks for the tip, mate, but you were 2 days late, haha. Thing is, i live in a family of pc-gamers, so GPU was a gift for my 18th birthday from my whole family. Just turned 18 on 3rd of october, so i got 4070. I originally planned to collect money and buy 4080 in 2024, but, you know, i got 4070 on BD, so i can't possibly complain (and i won't, it's fucking awesome) as it is perfect upgrade from 1050 ti, perfect for me at least. Just the thing is, when i talked to my mom and said i was planning on buying 4080, she secretly told me, that my dad will be sad, as at the time he already bought 4070
@@ChrisM541 The fuck dont you understand? If im paying 1200$ for a card, i better get a hell of an experience. Hes saying compromises had to be made with the 4080 which is unacceptable considering the price tag
@@D.Enniss it's not nonsense nvidia is leading option for advanced technologies.amd is a follower just like RT performance nvidia will still lead for a couple of generation before amd could be on par with them
@@D.Enniss hes kinda true I have experienced both dlss2.3 only not 3.0 and fsr 2.x(idk the latest one probably 2.3) And dlss is slightly look better i tested it in 720p to see the resolution difference at the highest And it still have 4-5% more performance than fsr Fsr is good and acceptable as its free source its slightly behind dlss 2.3
Hey bro ! Love your tests and your energy But I should tell you, you're actually not testing the most intensive parts of the game In my experience (100h) Afterlife is the most intensive place in the game if we dont count the mission "Play it Safe" which is by far the most intensive mission in the game Keep up the good work my guy ! Peace from France !
i remember when cod was praised for being so smooth at 60fps and now for some reason people think 60fps is shit lol.i think its fine for these types of games.
Cyberpunk isn't looking too bad with the 4080. Have most of the bugs been fixed now? It seems a lot smoother than it use to be. I agree that the prices are too high, but while people buy them at the high price, the prices are unlikely to drop.
It’s at a point now where anyone that tolerates Bethesda games can enjoy it. Some visual glitches that are immersion breaking, but only once in awhile. Been playing on my Steam Deck and it’s quite enjoyable.
Isn't looking too bad? Game runs at 70-80 FPS at 2k, max settings (Including ray tracing on Psycho) with only frame generation on. Game looks absolutely stunning.
Got a new 4080 i9-13900kf build from micro center the other week, went back to cyberpunk and lordy it looks amazing playing on my 65in 120hz tv, 4k ultra settings, ultra RT ,DLSS+FG. 110+ FPS.
imagine, buying a card for 1400 and not getting 60fps on 4k without ray tracing on a almost 3 year old game. on 4k max with rt not even 30fps.... everybody telling how great this card is, after watching 4k ultra @5:22 im kinda confused if this card is really that good.
@@dhaumya23gango75 no it's not, i play at 4k native with a oc-ed 3080 ti and i get 50-60 fps... he also tested 3080 ti see it on his channel... and with dlss quality nearly 100fps... so the 4080 it's at best 10-15% better...
Update. Just replayed CP2077 with my 4080+R7600x. Playing at 1440p. Ultra settings + DLSS3. Getting almost always above 130fps in open world, indoors 144 easy. DLSS3.0 is truly Nvidia's best weapon against AMD. Never did I had such power with my previous rx6800xt let alone maintaining GPU temps under 60C
Hey, i just bought RTX 4080 and i have different setting in CP2077 then you in this one. For example i dont have the frame generation option at all. Any ideas why is that ?
My Gaming X Trio runs at 2760mhz at 975v and sucks round about 200w. Balanced Dlss and Optimized settings, turn of Raytracing Shadows from sun and you got steady 60 FPS without any drops! This Card is a Beast.
The 3070 gets 45 FPS in 1440p RT on DLSS Quality, the 4080 16GB gets 75 FPS in this exact same setting. 30 more FPS sounds great, but you are paying 800 euro MORE than you would pay for a 3070 here in europe. In short: you get more, but you pay more. Huang was right about Moore's Law. A weaker 4070ti (4080 12gb) and an even weaker 4070 would only decrease that FPS gap from 30 to 20 to 15 maybe. And while the price would decrease, it would proabably still be 700 eur for a 4070 by which time the 3070 will have dropped to 500. And keep in mind all this new framerate is based on DLSS 3, which is glitchier than DLSS 2.
4080 got 80+ fps average so almost double the frames of the 3070 which gets sub 40fps at 1440p max rt dlss quality (You must have seen benchmarks with ultra rt not psycho). See reviews, even in raster 4080 doubles the framerate of the 3070 without upscaling. "30fps more" lol, learn to calculate percentage uplift kid. If it's some other game where 3070 manages 60fps the 4080 would push 120fps at the same exact same setting, so "60fps" more lmao.
Just a suggestion for FPS Boost. I use Digital foundry's settings. - Cascade shadow resolution: medium - Volumetric cloud quality: medium - SSRQ: Medium - Ambient occlusion: low - Color precision: medium - Level of detail: medium - Crowd Density: Medium - Everything rest on High - RTX Reflections ON rest off - DLSS-Quality | Sharpness-0.50 I play on RTX 2060 6GB+i5 12400 @1080p i get Avg of 60FPS Buttery smooth on Latest patch 1.61 with loads of mod installed. With these settings, you get a good FPS boost with No to very minimal quality loss. You can use other RTX settings as per your PC specs, but RTX reflection is a must-have setting. Also, you can use "General Optimization" mod from Nexus, which will optimise your CPU cores to get smooth frame rates.
Honest opinion needed- when Phantom Liberty releases should I continue playing on PS5 or play on Geforce Now but with 1080 p monitor (I have a very old gaming ring, and can't really afford an upgraded one)
Hey Kryzzp! A new game launched on Steam,it's called "171" and it's in Brazil i think. Could you test it? I got it yesterday and i have a GT 710 so it's kinda a pain in the ass to play it. @@aedan4978 it's a good gpu for 1440p. Imo rt reflections is the only rt that matters in this game because it looks broken without it. 😅 Try to undervolt it to have lower wattage and have a decent oc for both mem and gpu cores. Ultra with rt reflections and dlss q should get you more consistent 60fps or even higher. Then you can set screen space reflection to high for a bit more fps. 😊👌

Great video. Can anyone tell me what Overlay is being used for performance metrics? Is that just Afterburners overlay? I haven't used Afterburner in years!
It looked like you were still GPU bound at max settings 1080p. Guess that just goes to show how good processors have gotten. As someone who prefers very high frame rate gaming, these GPUs are still great if you have a monitor that supports it. That said, the price is awful. Let's see how the 7900XT & XTX performs soon.
Maybe in 5 to 10 years we can finally have computers capable of running cyberpunk in 4k 120 fps no DLSS. Tried playing the game no DLSS in 4k ultra it looks so nice and crisp. But the fps is ☠️
Even with hardware as beastly as that, it's not a constant 60fps even at high, imagine what it'd be like on ultra... Just goes to show that is one SERIOUSLY unoptimized mess, regardless of "looking super pretty". I reiterate, FSR is a wonder, because if people want to play Cyberbug 2077, it allows them to even on lesser hardware. Great stuff 🙂
