I was not expecting the shrek mod in the HL test to say the least XD The 4080 super would be awesome since I could afford better specs on everything else in the pc I want to build. coming from someone that has never celebrated their birthday, that kind of gift would mean the world.
Like both the 4080 super and the 7900 xtx! It seems the 4080 super is a little bit faster. I'm still running my 3060ti but it's starting to struggle with 1440p gaming. Wish I had one of the cards in this test. They seem fantastic.
That 4070 ti super or 4080 super would pair very nicely with my tuned 5800x3D system and Odyssey G7 for some crispy HDR and RT effects Good job with the early benches btw, it's nice to see a performance preview like this
Update- still 7900xtx and it is cheaper than the 4080 super that is releasing cheaper than the 4080. Sit on that for a minute. This will come down to those that think RT is worth the triple price you are paying for it. Workstation and it is a must? Understood. That is less than a percent of a percent of pc gamers. Bonus, this bookend will give us more saving on the 7900 xt and xtx hopefully getting the 7900xtx to an acceptable £675 area. But £800 will do for the moment.
Better ray tracing, better FPS, lower TDP, same price. Can't see any reason not to pick the 4080S over the 7900xtx other than VRAM. Really appreciate the benchmarks
@@SiXiam its one of these things where at the very least it helps us the consumers. what i would like to see in the near future is the folllowing. 4090 - $1500 4080 Super - $1000 7900XTX - $850 4070ti Super - $800 7900XT - $700 4070 Super - $600 4070 - $550 7800XT - $500 7700XT - $400 4060ti - $400 4060 - $300 RX7600XT - $300 RX7600 - $250 The above prices i think would make the market alot better and make everything a viable option depending on your budget and needs.
@@Jasontvnd9 I like your idea. Part of me thinks they are just going to discontinue a lot of models when the 5000 series fully releases. I assume the 5090 will release first at $1900.
Good things about the 7900 XTX is 24 GB VRAM instead of 16 GB and Displayport 2.1 instead of the 1.4a found on Nvidia's GPUs, and to a lower price as well. Since I upgrade my computer only every 4-6 years, the extra VRAM will be very helpful eventually, and so will the Displayport 2.1 which allows for higher monitor refresh rates. And the best of all is not having to give money to greedy Nvidia. Without AMD, prices for both GPUs and CPUs would be way worse.
Based on these results I’d want the 7900xtx to drop to $799 to be price competitive. With dlss 2 and 3 the nvidia setup is hands down better. Not even close.
I would be honest and say the 4070 super, I have an 8.1L case with a 3070 FE card at the moment and it does great. Everything else is over kill. But would be fun to own. Good luck to everyone.
Personally, my favorite card would have to be the 4080 Super, but realistically the 4070 Ti Super is so much better of an improvement over the older card, it’s definitely the best between the new 3 super cards in terms of overall improvements compared to the original one. Increase in cores, memory bus width, and VRAM.
@@edgarro2653 CORRECT! you can literally undervolt/overclock to match the super . its the biggest scam on the planet. what people didn't realize is the cache size is bigger on the 192bit 4070 ti which means it makes up for the smaller memory bus. its a scam and people who aren't tech savvy won't even know it. ngreedia has become the worst when it comes to fair prices to a marketplace that literally made them who they are today.
The 7900 XTX is down to $650 already, the 4080 S will be released tomorrow (tonight technically). I was waiting to order it, and this Sapphire Nitro+ caught my eye. I can no longer justify spending $999 on the card, because I can also get a AMD 5950x at the same time and still spend the same amount.
now that the RTX 4080 super has finally released, we can now say ngreedia overpriced another card, 1200+ just for a few extra frames at max and sometimes even lacks behind the $950 rx 7900xtx
4080 Super is the one I was waiting for. Still thinking about XTX, but the weird performance in PCVR is a huge bummer (unless it was fixed?). Hard to predict the actual prices in my local market though -.-
@@-RamosPrez2000 yeah that's what I was thinking, 4080S will be too expensive in comparison. But nice to hear xtx works dine, I read it has/had lot of performance/driver issues, but no recent comments about it really
Personally I would prefer the 4080 super. Currently I am using a 3060 ti and been thinking about going for a 7900 XT, but my friends told me it's so damn loud. But still 1000 bucks for a gpu is crazy
4080 super has lower temps, less power consumption and higher frames. seems like a win dollar for dollar, thats my fav card. wonder how they compare for triple monitor setups for sim racing/flying
Definitely would be the 4070 ti super! For obvious reasons, more vram, more cudas, less power consumption. The 4080 would be nice but it won’t fit in my build. So 4070 ti super is ideal for me :)
4080 super 👌🏻even though I’m looking since the announcement for the 4070 ti super. This channel rocks with benchmarks way before other people even get their hands on some products . Keep up the good work and good luck everyone for the giveaway
I wonder if the 7800X3D would be able ro push out more frames (as RED+RED=move more data) Im runing the 7800X3D+7900XTX+64GBDDR6 6000Mhz on the ultrawide aw3423dwf. very happy with my build and absolutly love the ultrawide emersion over 4K and also gives me that more fps.
If they drop the 7900xtx like they did with 7900xt, then 7900xt will be against 4070 and 7900xtx against 4070ti (both super) and there will be no excuse to dont go amd, leaving only the 4080 super alone against nothing (unless 7950xtx). You can find a 7900xt for 700 euro here, why going for a gpu with only 12gb vram...
Heard about the launch of the 4080 super through a friend, I was planning to get either the 4080 or the 7900 XTX, but I'll probably wait for the 4080 super.
I prefer any RTX 40 series card over AMD because you can get same with better performance and better efficiency. Nvidia also has a better advantage with Ray Tracing and DLSS. Currently got a older generation card with a 13th gen processor, a upgrade would be really nice!
Is this a good pc build for $2000? Case Be quiet! Pure Base 500DX Arctic white $94.50 CPU AMD - Ryzen 7 7800X3D $399.99 Motherboard Used GIGABYTE B650 Aorus Elite AX $123.99 Ram CORSAIR Vengeance $105.99 GPU Rtx 4080 super $1,000 CPU Cooler Noctua NH-D15 $119.95 SSD Crucial - P3 1TB $63.99 PSU Pure Power 12 M 850W $109.90 OS Windows 11 Home $129.99
It will make a difference with the AMD GPU as you can enable AMD SAM ( Smart Access Memory ) which has a noticeable performance increase on lower resolutions like 1080p and 1440p, and a marginal performance uplift in some games at 4K while some titles it can be very little to none. However for the most part, there will be an increase in FPS while using AMD SAM, even at 4K
@@Victor-xh2ye - Thanks for the response. I was thinking the same thing but I haven't seen any comparisons of the 7900xtx vs 4080s with the 7800x3d cpu and Amd Sam. Which might equalize the two gpu's more and reduce the edge that the 4080s has. I just built an Amd pc with the 7800x3d and trying to land on which gpu to buy lol
@@DracarysGamingReally? I thought 7800x3d would be powerful enough to handle these cards, it’s pretty fast these days and holds its ground against the 14900k.
Clearly 4080 S is better than 7900 xtx but if you need 24 gigs then you may consider the the Rx, but in poland the rtx is more expensive than the rx around :100-150$. So be it.
If I look at the ratio of price and performance, the 7900XTX is the clear winner here, because unfortunately the 4080 Super cannot be sold at MSRP. That's almost certain... But at true MSRP, the 4080 Super would be an excellent card based on the test. Thanks again for your hard work as always! Personally , the 4070 Ti Super still my favorite from the Super card series :)
For pure raster performance they're evenly matched, but the 4080S will obliterate the 7900 XTX in RT. And it looks to be more power efficient, too, which tbh is a bit of a surprise to me. So... If you're after pure raster and RT isn't your thing, get whichever one is cheaper. But for RT/PT the 4080S is obviously the only choice here.
Gamers cannot ignore RT forever. I myself can tell the difference a lot better and rasterization simply looks unnatural. Games are chasing reality especially the newer releases coming soon. AMD really needs to step up their game there.
@@Dexion845 Yeah, I wholeheartedly agree, RT/PT is here to stay. That said, there are still millions playing esports type games, where raster is king, and fps is everything. For better or worse, AMD can still successfully cater to that market. Naturally, I would prefer it if they did step up their game. We need the competition.
Agreed. Imo the 7900xtx needs to drop down in price maybe like 850-900 or so. At same price point the 4080 super is a clear pick. And less watts too. Prior to the super variant the 7900xtx was pretty tempting vs the regular 4080 and its expensive price
At similar price points, the 4080 S is a no brainer here unless you really need that extra vram. Still 1000 bucks for a graphics card is kinda crazy. This is what the 4080 really should have been in the first place but better late than never. Fav is the 4070ti S.
Yeah, I'm with you, but I don't really want a Founders Edition if I can even actually get one. I'm more interested in an AIB card and that usually means another $100-$200 to the base price, and my build is already over-budget due to taxes. Probably going to go for the 4070 ti Super AIB card. I'm running a 1440 ultrawide.
@@inmitchthe main issue isn’t that the AIB cards cost more, it’s just that the founders ones always have shortages where I’m from so you can’t really get it at the msrp anyways. However in the US rn you can get rhe 4070 super AIB cards like 10 bucks over msrp right now so maybe there is hope.
I have mind undervolted, clock speed 2300 min, 2400 max, 1105 MV, power limit+15 and memory clock 2600, if it is unstable try increasing the MV or decreasing men clocks
Hi bro just seen your video in Italy is really difficult to buy a 4080 super or also e 4070ti super because they are too 7:01 overpriced for us,really appreciate your video ❤
In my country the nvidia price cut on the 4080 means I'll still be paying almost as much as Americans pay for a 4090! The 4090 in my country is only for the multi millionaires and billionaires. The 4080 will unfortunately be for the richest people only as well. The 4070 ti super is going at a rate that's above what a 4080 should cost based on msrp. Import tax and then third party profit have ruined the 4000 series pricing even further than nvidia managed to. And the 4070 super is ridiculous. Not even sure why that gpu exists. They should've rather released a 4060 ti super with 16gb of vram on a 192 bit bus and upped some of the Cuda and ray tracing cores, or simply upped the vram on the 4070 to 16gb along with the Cuda and ray tracing core upgrades. That would've made it a 4070 super.
Just ordered a 57" Samsung dual UHD (need screen real estate for work) and realistically I'll have to wait for the 50xx series to take full advantage of it. In the meantime I need to replace my old 980 and am torn between a 4070ti s and 4080 s. Favorite would have to be the 4080 s but the 4070ti s is so good for the $$... At this stage forking out for a 4090 seems like a bad idea. I've been out of the game since building my 5960x/980 rig so opinions welcome 🙂
@@CynicalManInBlack idgaf tbh Nvidia themselves aren't that honest with their performance anyway. Even if this is an educated guess it's still cool to watch. Most people are looking at like 10 videos before even buying a graphics card.
Welp, if these benchmarks are the real deal there's no reason to buy the XTX. By the time 24GB is a bottleneck the raster performance will already be the bottleneck. 4080 Super is definitely the target.
So the xtx is around the same price or cheaper , and the nitro for example I have over clocked to 3100 and maybe the super can clock that high but for maybe 10 fps here and there in most cases , not worth the difference in money especially since the xtx is 24gb compared to 16
Well, we don't know what the real world price for 4080S will be. With the apparent ~5-10% boost compared to 4080 it edges out XTX in literally every single metric (raster, DLSS, RT, power consumption) except for VRAM now. And while 20 GB would be nicer, realistically I doubt 16GB will be a bottleneck for the lifespan of these cards. By the time 24 GB could be an advantage, these cards will be too outdated anyway. If XTX isn't at least 150$ cheaper, I don't see how you would prefer it over 4080S. The good news for consumers is that cards will go down in price overall (tho still absurdly overpriced) and it might still be worth picking XTX up based on how the market settles.
