Congratulations State Minister Ruben Vardanyan, you outclassed Stephen Sackur with your intelligence and diplomatic skills, while trying to navigate the case for Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh,) which is between a rock and a hard place with a humanitarian disaster unfolding. It must be very difficult to criticise the "Russian Peacekeepers" who are clearly not keeping the peace and are part of the problem, since there are no international peacekeepers or a buffer zone between the despotic and cruel hubris of the Aliev regime and Artsakh. Difficult also for yourself personally, since you may have many family members in Russia. We have to remember however, that Artsakh (Nagorno Karabagh) is de jure part of Armenia as internationally recognised after the First World War, the League of Nations and President Woodrow Wilson's thoughtfully drawn map. The administrative borders forced on Armenia and Karabakh by the Bolshevik party are illegal by International Law and the Treaty of Sevres is still applicable according to International Lawyers. Please remind everyone and claim what is legally Armenian territory, if International Law has any meaning at all.

R. Vardanyan's replies/comments to that biased BBC journalist were good. I comprehend the required format of Stephen Sackur's interviews however he sounded very biased and hostile.
Vardanyan brilliantly answered all questions. He is not only a successful businessman, but also an excellent diplomat and politician. Sackur was nervous that neither accusations nor resentment were voiced against Russia, it was obvious. ARTSAKH is and will be an independent state!

I respect this man, he really answered all the questions perfectly despite the fact that the journalist was being rude and manipulative by frequently interrupting him and not allowing him to finish his answers. I'm not sure what Ruben's motives are for being in Artsakh, but I feel he is doing the right thing there.
Of course Steven Sakur, a very well known investigator, is very rude and unintelligent but Putin’s friend Mr. Dr. Professor and finally saviour of Armenians is an angel.. 😝😝
@@josephbrown2222 I did not imply that Ruben is a savior or angel of Armenia; rather, I suggested that I am uncertain of his motives for being in Artsakh during this time. However, his neutral responses give me cause to believe that he is genuinely concerned for the well-being of the region. The questions posed to him were relevant and natural, but they should have been posed in a more moderate manner, so as to not make it evident that they were seeking to manipulate and modify the words of the respondent rather than being focused on safeguarding people's rights.
Proud for what, the position of Artsakh isn't understandable for people and countries of West. If Artsakh wants the help from this countries, it should have a standpoint on different issues. If not, they will tell you, make your own effort, and stop asking help from us. If you don't need a help why even give an interview.

Very good interview of both sides. You have a battle between a pragmatic journalist looking at the reality of the situation, and a true Armenian patriot who has left his very comfortable life in order to “be with his ppl”. Very few ppl in the world are like Rouben Vartanian. I can assure you, Ilham Aliyev does not posses this character, that’s why he sees RV as a threat. I’ve enjoyed this show & journalist for a long time, but even he has to see there is very little sense that an “oligarchs” ” would risk his life as Mr. Vartanian is doing.

It would have been interesting to have Mr. Sackur interview the leader of Bosnia Herzegovina during Sarajevo siege and saying the same “so you have 2 options: surrender to Serbs or get back to wherever you come from”.
