they would not be barren if the same species,the chicks colouring would depend on which two colour mutations you pair together as some colours are sex linked,some ressesive or dominant colour mutations.for example lutinos are usually sex linked meaning a male lutino will produce lutino females and normal male chicks that carry the lutino mutation.depending on what two birds you pair you can have many different coloured chicks .sorry if your bored now ha ha
