I visited ruby falls in may of 2000 looked same now as it did then. My husband worked for many years underground in a coalmine and there wasn't pumps pumping water in to where he worked everyday so the ones who says pumps pump the water in probably has worked behind a desk all their lives
I remember doing the tour back in high school. Long time ago. I’ve always wanted to take my husband back, and the few times we visited the area, we never had time. But it’s on my bucket list to get him there and Lookout Mountain. He saw the battle grounds in Ft Oglethorpe but only after they relocated a lot on things, not how we enjoyed it and played on it as kids, with jails and other historical items still where they were left when the war ended. I absolutely love the entire northern GA and southern TN area around Chattanooga. My happy place of my childhood. One day I will successfully escape California and get back there.
My family is from TN, but I grew up in Michigan. Every time we drove down to TN, I begged to go to Ruby's Falls, but we never went. It was awesome to watch this video! Thanks for posting! On a funny note, the music that starts at 44:45 reminds me of the "Biffco" music in Back to the Future 2 - anyone remember that?! LOL!
Thanks for posting this wonderful tour video. I am planning to take my 81 year old Mom, this gave me a great perspective. After going inside Egypt's pyramids and tombs, she should do ok on this tour. Really looking forward to it!

Sakshi Acharya Nope, the waterfall regularly floods the cave during heavy rainfall and they have to cancel cave trips. There is no pump. I used to be a caver and can tell you that even in the dry season wet wild caves still have impressive waterfalls. They are usually fed by natural springs that keep a regular water flow year-round. Keep in mind that the outlet of the Ruby Falls waterfall is fairly small. By the time it gets 20 feet down it spreads out and becomes a huge sight by the time it hits the bottom. It does not take a lot of water to make a 145 foot waterfall seem huge underground.
I like the video and to years ago I actually went I recommend going if u ever get the chance its beautiful there's so much to see and if u go u have to do the incline railway but that's me we rented a cabin very cozy so like I said if u get the chance u should take it and go beautiful i was like 7 i loved it and it's really amusing and fun kids love it so yes wonderful place

I went to this cave because my friend wanted to go. Personally, I would rather eat steaming yak vomit than take a cave tour of any kind, BUT when they lit up the falls I nearly lost my breath. It's the most amazingly beautiful thing I have ever seen.
Absolutely on the cave thing. I have lifelong claustrophobia and as a child had such anxiety about the tour. But the beauty was so awesome I never regretted taking the tour and it’s one of the only places like that I can successfully participate in. God’s majestic beauty on display.
The Cactus Cave was originally the Holy Ghost Cave. The Holy Ghost had Giraffe's Disorder which made his neck very long and he also had gigantism. It was one of the few spots in the cave he could stand up instead of crawl. His Great-Grand-Father's elephant is indeed encased in the cave and that is Elephant's Foot. He mourned his father inside Cactus Cave.

+Lisa Salvo LoL, and this is pretty much a "big" cave.......you should try freelance spelunking where you have to crawl on your belly like a frog for about 100 feet to enter a cavity........
Heh Heh, haven't been caving in 9 years. That was in Northern Jackson county, Alabama, where there is the largest concentration of caves in the U.S. east of the Mississippi river. But C'mon, you afraid of a little dirt?? haha
The waterfall is real....the flow of it is fake and generated by a pump. Calm yourself. The real fall is literally a drip. You could piss a more impressive stream. Who wants to see that? So....pump

I’m one of those people who see things in clouds, rocks, etc, such as faces, buildings, animals. Just the way my brain is wired. Anyway, is there anyone else who saw skulls, faces, or whatever, in this video? Really interesting finds. I’m going to go back and restart video and post list of what I find along with the timestamp. "Ruby Falls is fake. Their waterfall is pumped in. It's artificial. The formations are paint and plastic and styrofoam or occasionally purchases from other caves halfway across the country. They lie about the height of the falls. Like not a little exaggeration, they claim it's almost twice as high as it is. Most of the stories your tour guides tell you are made up. Unless they have gray hair their funny quips about past tours are mostly bs. The employees are not told any of this and have to piece it together on their own. A lot of management legitimately doesn't know. The tour guides know and don't care, the ones that do care quit. They threaten to sue employees who ever reveal any of this EVEN TO FELLOW EMPLOYEES!" ruby falls is so fake. when i went there my family and i saw buckets of rock colored paint and buckets of plaster. not to mention how they have a tv underground. also they have no idea where the water is coming from? that doesn’t make any sense...you’d have a general idea where it’s coming from.
