Today I'm 65, 60 years back this happened to my brother and I we experienced the same four years long by my mother's sister-in-law's relatives during our parent's divorce. When I started teaching I taught all children to speak up, scream for help and more. I homed many abused children and youth. Family staff members who met me decades later whispered while hugging me that it's a miracle that I'm alive. It's a shame that so-called adults witnessing such atrocities simply look away. I've been asked by many to write that book, well now that I have terminal cancer with physical limitations, I thought while watching this traumatizing case, yes it's time to write that book as I can't use my passion for extreme sport activities as a diversion any more.

Well. Some rich people always have a lawyer ready lol Plus as much crime material that I watch daily.. they always say to NEVER speak to the police unless you have a lawyer present. Guilty ir not. But especially if you are innocent Because there are way too many people in prison that are actually innocent because of them using any small detail against them. If you get one detail mixed up, even if by pure accident, they will use it against you. That being said. I haven't watched this case yet. Just really starting to watch the evidence here. But I just find it odd when cops or the audience says. "If they lawyered up. That means they're Guilty" And if they don't talk. That means they're Guilty When that's exactly what they tell you is the best thing to do. Like the American nightmare case. They acted like they were both guilty for instantly getting a lawyer .. their name was ran thru the dirt in the media and public And they were innocent. Crazy But. For this case. Yea they're definitely guilty So doesn't have anything to do with what I said. I just read your comment and it made me think of that case and what's always said

Like, what was on the devices that made him so concerned about it?! also we need to remember he was all on board with the parenting style ruby had before she met hildebrandt. Yes, it got beyond worse after the two connected but this parents were awful way before hildebrandt entered the chat. I‘m very worried about the kids if they really go to live with the dad. That’s why the statement, “it takes a village to raise a kid”. If neighbors, extended family, doctors, teachers don’t see the kids for weeks or notice something unusual they raise alarm. That’s why community living is a must for healthy child development. Secluded home living means anything could be happening and there is no way to know.

@RandomRads cops don't need a warrant to do a welfare check. Ruby's RU-vid was FULL of probable cause. As the victims' family, they would have provided probable cause. If they were not constantly at the police station, at CPS, they didn't do everything they could. They had platforms themselves they could have used. They all posted like everything was fine. I would say they will have to live the rest of their lives knowing they failed their nephews and nieces, but I really don't think that bothers them. They will only be bothered if people stopped watching them and stopped giving them money.

True, but it also sounds like he was gaslighted by Jodie in the context of therapy for over a year. She, the therapist who was providing marriage counselling, then moved into his house and continued to gaslight him while alienating him from his wife and kids. HEARTBREAKING FACT: The only reason her son Russell escaped was to turn HIMSELF into the police because he believed he was deserving of all the punishment. Ruby repeatedly told him that jail would be one of the consequences of his behavior, so he left a message in rocks before he left that said he chose jail. Watch the 20/20 interview.

If you listen to interviews with Jodi’s niece, this was a common punishment. They weren’t allowed to talk to *anyone* even just to say hi or respond to a question. That’s probably what was going on here, she was terrified to speak because of a worse punishment.

I agree, but in this case, it may have saved their lives. Once their birth incubator (I won't call her a mother) stopped the youtube channel, the ab*se got WAY worse. If she hadn't had the channel, some of those kids might've died years ago. The channel may have kept her in check. Just a personal theory, I could be wrong of course.

Honestly Ruby probably was drawn to Jodi because it was someone else validating her own evil behavior. She wanted to abuse her kids as much as she could and Jodi was on board with that so of course they bonded over that. Other people would have told her to tone it down and then she couldn't get off on the control and abused as easily.

The detective, when explaining the kids condition to the Dad, should not IMO have given him opinions of the kids condition which allowed the Dad to just agree with how horrible it was. They should have given him pictures and watched the shock. It was horrible but this Dads reaction is muted. Do they ever say who/where the two older kids have gone?

The reason why Jodi wanted the separation between Ruby and her husband was because Ruby was more susceptible to manipulation. Jodi knew that she could manipulate Ruby and squeeze her dry for money more easily than she could Kevin. Jody was all about the money. Jody wanted Ruby to sign over the 8 passengers brand, she wanted Ruby to get her husband to sign away rights to the house, renting the house was an income stream for Jody, she convinced her to take 85k from her children's bank accounts. Jody wanted to buy a big ranch out in the middle of nowhere so that she could, unfettered, abuse children. Ruby's son kept running away so if he was out in the middle of nowhere, there would be no one to save him.

Did anyone else notice that immediately after LE tells the father the HORROR and torture that his son endured, he says "I love my wife. Are there any charges against her". Not "is he going to be ok", "what hospital is he at", etc. Absolutely ZERO concern for his child. Extremely telling.

In his interview with the police, Kevin said loud and clear he has no love for his children. He demonstrated that when he left them, never called to speak with them, visit with them. He has not once shown any concern for the children or remorse for leaving them in the hands of two monsters. He’s as much a horrible person as Ruby and Jodi.
