Ruby Sunday and The Trickster's Theme? (It’s all about the music)

I’d be so hyped for them to connect back to The Sarah Jane Adventures. Plus the Trickster was such a cool villain.

When a villain - when a *creature of literal music* - shits themselves at a hidden song, you KNOW something is bad.

Guys it’s 99% sure it is the trickster. 1) RTD expressed interest in the Tricksters character back in lockdown also clamping if he was still part of doctor who the trickster would be the first long term villain he’d do and he’d be recycling a storyline he had planned many years ago. 2) in a few interviews mainly the tales of the tardis a few trickster related things are popping up which literally have no relevance what so ever. 3) This video. The song within Ruby is identical the song played with the trickster puzzle box. 4) RTD in 2010 write a story for the Sarah Jane Adventure in which a character called Sky would be left in the door step of Sarah Jane’s house. Sky would become an innocent child who loved Sarah Jane, but Sky was the daughter of the trickster, and when she’d find out she’d work against Sarah Jane to the point the trickster would have control of Sarah Jane’s technology like Mr smith bring chaos down. The story we see now is very similar with Ruby. Ruby is left by cloaked figure like in SJA and every thing we have seen so far shows us that RTD is doing the same story that was intended with Sky. 5) Ruby is a pantheon it’s as clear as day on the snow alone. Only a Pantheon had such powers to do those things. I’m actually quite surprised the doctor hasn’t worked this out yet pretty obvious especially when the last two people he defeated were also Pantheons. Every single thing. And I mean every single thing point back to the trickster and based on what RTD said he’d do first I think it’s 99% certain it’s the trickster.

HEAR ME OUT. In the trailer of 73 yards, it seems as if the doctor vanishes, in Sarah Jane adventures (what ever happened to Sarah Jane) SHE ALSO DISAPEARS. AM I ONTO SOMETHING……….

So the Trickster is coming to Doctor Who

The melodies are different, but it might just be a little hint

Slightly different notes but it's probably just Murray Gold repeating motifs which is very common

Now that you mention, it would be interesting if the Trickster was "The Oldest One" and/or "He Who Waits", and it would make sense with the Trickster being an old enemy of the Doctor. And it would make sense for the Toymaker to be afraid of the Trickster who, himself, is a powerful supernatural entity.

The melodies are different, likely because of rights reasons, but I would assume that's the new Trickster theme.

Further compounded by the Trickster being confirmed to be part of the same Pantheon as the Maestro

This is like saying a character is the true king of westeros - laying seeds for an entire series and then revealing it only to send them beyond the wall… Smart twist rtd, you been watching any other series with these subversions of expectations?… (Im still in denial - she’s still the child of the trickster until they address the music and the snow properly)

Think it may not be exactly what we believe it is on multiple levels across realities of music treads lead to intelligence who saw the Doctor's life throughout time. Remember The Snowflake and Snowmen the lines are drawing closer to the tune of those beating drums. Two different characters affect this story's outcome one is considerably a pathway to the other. Library and Moon and Great Intelligence and the child, and a Snowflake. Think Crystal's and Guardians and Great Intelligence are particularly involved.

I NEED the trickster to come back so badly

I think it could happen but I have my doubts, as if you know the person who created the Trickster you know he's done some pretty bad stuff. And if it includes paying him then they should just create a new character that does a similar thing that the Trickster does since his influence is what makes him scary, not the character himself, his design is scary though, if they do make a new character like a Sister or something I think that should be how the Trickster is represented in the future. I think it would be more likely to be the Meddling Monk if it is something important to time, maybe even Time itself as it did say in Flux it would eventually catch up to her, well in Power Of The Doctor it did but even then who's to say it doesn't do it again. It could also just be a new character, Russell has confirmed there is no villains returning this season. Although you never know. I do think however if the Toymaker is scared then it would have be a really big threat, possibly bigger than the Trickster. If you don't know the Toymaker has stated he turned God into a Jack-In-The-Box in the Giggle and in the Nightmare Fair Novel the Sixth Doctor acuses the Toymaker of setting up the Space Time Vortex only for him to reply that he is the Space Time Vortex. Also focusing more on classic lore, the Toymaker never used to only manipulate atoms (the Giggle is just a plot hole mess for the Toymaker since how does he create pocket universes if some of the key ingredients for universes require stuff that is almost certainly not made of atoms? The Giggle is a character ruining experience for me.) but instead manipulated Reality. Yeah. Really put's it into perspective. He is also a Guardian Of Time. And apparently he and the Doctor are from the same universe. We know the Toymaker used to be a creator so it is very likely he created the Doctor before becoming the game playing mastermind he is now. So yeah, put it like that and the Trickster, while possibly a threat to the Toymaker I doubt would be so powerful the Toymaker would be scared, especially since if he won anyway, his realm would be destroyed with the Trickster in it, it may not destroy him but would definitely be a big blow.

I was already thinking the figure might be the Trickster or related to the Trickster in some way. After seeing, this I am confident they are connected now.

Cool theory. I don't particularly hear the connections, save the eerie quality and minor key.

The trickster has always been described as one of the pantheon, I don't think it really fits that’s he's also the one who waits. I do hope the trickster returns, even if it's just as Ruby's parent, but I hope the one who waits is someone else.

It makes no sense to me. I think that the trickster is involved, but if he's part of the pantheon of discord... Well the toymaker nor the maestro hid their identities, and if they're all in the same pantheon I'd assume they'd be on mostly friendly terms. the toymaker said he saw him hiding and he ran, Maestro seemed equilly displeased to discover the one who waits. And why would they hide the identity too? Why would they cower? It's simple... >> Because Maestro said the one who waits is the oldest one, but they never said anything about the pantheon. There is only one evil scary monstrous god like being I could think of that would be scary enough to make the others run away. The beast from the impossible planet and the satan pit. He did say he was from before time.

Now I haven’t stuck both melodies next together and isolated the sounds and all that jazz but… I’m 98% certain those are two completely different songs haha 😂 Whole different notes, and I’m pretty sure different tempos. They *might* be the same key though? Again, no music expert, but I am also certain these aren’t the same song.

Ok it is about the music but the tune ruby sung was not this. The 14th doctor told us the message is slow. Maestro said its in a minor key and i scoured last night.. Ruby is humming the tenth doctors theme in a slower minor key

I feel like I'm going insane, what is everyone hearing?? these really don't sound that alike apart from the fact its a womans voice? Totally different key and melody ??

I felt like everyone was jumping on board a fruitless theory... but that is convincing. They're not identical, but it's the same vocal style (I don't know what the technical musical term is). I shall remain open-minded, but great spot to those who noticed.

In the recent season and the specials they brought back The Toymaker and Sutekh, this is practically confirmation.

My main issue with comparing them is that the trickster theme is very dissonant and minor. Ruby’s “song” finishes the phrase and doesn’t have the same dissonance. So if there is a connection I would guess Ruby is more of the opposite of the trickster

Listen to the very first episode with rose Tyler does her melody not sound the exact same as the melody in the background and a little like roses 🌹
