"she"s written" LOL yeah right..stop kidding..the principle of a demo song is to propose a song to an artist..if she had written it, she wouldn't need demo
unpopular dolls don't read replies what?? she did write the song... and the purpose of a demo is to give the artist who its sent to an idea of what the lyrics of the song could work with a melody and production...
Changes the meaning too. From me makes it sound like the guy is actively taking. Baby, baby sounds like the girl singing, I am giving. Can you handle this?
They just changed the words, not the notes sung. So the melody is the same which means its the same. The song would've been a hit regardless of word choices.
@@artistaccount Right. Sounds like they changed it maybe because it sounded a little too sexually assaulting-like... Even if the girl is asking or demanding that it is taken.
I'm torn. Ester Dean's voice is very edgy and suits this sound but Rihanna's voice on this song sounds great too. Having a hard time choosing my preference.
One thing people take for granted is Demos aren't finished compared to the singles they hear on the radio. Which go through lots of people are engineered and mastered to perfection.
Esters voice is sexy, raspy and incredibly raw… I love it… wish she would sing all her songs and not give them to others… Sm for sure would have made her as a singer…
Which was meant for Rihanna at first. I like that song a lot too! Ester is truly a hitmaker! First time I felt like Selena found a more memorable sound.
I read that when they record the demos they don't pay too much attention to the actual quality of the vocals. The main goal is to just get the melodies and lyrics down. So maybe that's why she doesn't sound that great!
Theres the part in the Rihanna version where she says something like "baby if I dont feel it I ain't faking no no" which I think is a great addition as well as saying "baby baby" instead of "from me from me" SO COOL to see the behind the scenes.
Im a witness Ester does writes... I was just in the ATL last weekend, Im an artist also... She writes for gucci mane and alot more artist... She a beast!
Rihanna has never pretended to be a song-writer and steal credits from the actual writers.. In her whole career i can only think of about 7 songs that she has credits on.. For any song, the credits are listed in order of contribution to the songwriting.. On this track it goes "Eriksen Hermansen Ester Dean Riddick Rob Swire Fenty". Meaning her contribution was small, but she still made one.
@@theactualtruth4951yall stay crying about colorist. When light skin girls ain’t really pop in the industry till the 90s it’s always been brown and dark skin.
Some of y'all need to understand that demos are not a "cover" or an "original version". Artists are supposed to know what the song would sound like (in terms of melody/ lyrics/ vibe of the song/ beat) through demos. They can then decide to either change some things like lyrics or melody (sometimes they change everything aside from the instrumental). And if they decide to go with that demo, they credit the writer/ composer and they're paid good money, so no worries! But yeah, Ester sounded great as well as did Rihanna!!!
That AYYY EH EH at start is actually Rob Swire of Pendulum/Knife Party. Guy who sings on Deadmau5 - Ghosts and Stuff. He made the beat too. StarGate then added the synths you hear at 0:12 & 0:55... StarGate gave it Ester Dean and this was made.
Y’all don’t understand what a damn demo is? The demo is to show the singer how the song is supposed to be sung, it’s not that the singer “steals” the song, they pay the person for the song because they’re songwriters.
Easter could hv make it to the top.. so bad these producer and record label prefer her to be just behind the scene.. this lady is a real diamond 💎.......
@EverythingArt309 I thought I was the only one that felt that way... I love Ester Dean... I think her voice is so cool & she is such a great writer... I be wanting to hear all the song she wrote for Rihanna on an album
OK! I have to admit this better than Rihanna's version O_O. I guess Rihanna's contribution is at 2:30 "get it up, time to get it up you say you're a rude boy now show me what you got now" that might not even be but she is listed as a songwriter so she did something with the lyrics or melody, but this sounds like 98% of the final track
