A short performance and demo by Jordan Rudess using his new Yamaha Tenori-On. Be sure to view this in High-Quality mode to hear the audio in stereo. (If you don't hear stereo when you listen in High Quality, add "&fmt=18" without the quotes to the URL.)

The beauty of this instrument is that the graphic interface inspires very different types of musical ideas. It also is able to output MIDI so you can control and MIDI sound source. Its wonderful to see people designing instruments that merge the world of sight and sound!

Jordan Rudess is the keyboardist of the progressive metal band Dream Theater, and he works as a solo artist, too. He is truly BADASS! Check him out ;)

It seems that Yamaha is following one of the market's gold rules: IF YOU WANT A SYNTH TO HAVE SUCCESS, PUT IT IN THE HANDS OF JORDAN RUDESS.

Has Jordan ever used this instrument live with Dream Theater before? I think I seen a video on it here, but I can't seem to find it! :( Sounds amazing nevertheless.

If you used an Radias R to open more opportunities could you then make the Tenori-On work like something as the continuum or the Bebot?

1:35 "a 16 by 16 grid of pixels that basically CONTROL THE ENTIRE WORLD." I couldn't have put it better. ;-) This is a great video, perhaps the clearest description of what is actually HAPPENING behind that awesome grid of lights... makes me want one even more ;-)

haha yea because I probably just didn't get home from playing with my band nope. I was sitting here all day didn't even go to class because I was posting comments on youtube all day. Sorry if I made fun of you but you don't understand how much Dream Theater is to me and when someone doesn't know who they are I get pissed but oh well.

Jordan Rudess is a God of keyboards and sounds. If he can´t make this "instrument" sound decent then we all can be shure, The instrument really sucks. It's confusing and anoying.
