My heart broke for Norn when she received the news of Paul's passing. Sylphy, on the other hand, handled the news of Rudy's cheating and bringing home a second woman like a boss. I couldn't help chuckling when she basically told Roxy, "It was expected," lol

Sylphie def is more mature and treated the situation in a mature way lol. She knows who she married lol. Also like she told Norn, Rudy doesnt follow Millis. Zenith/Paul did, THATS why their situation was an issue, they mutually practiced Monogamy and paul broke that agreement. Rudy doesnt and thus there is no expectation for him to practice it, Other than his own word which he DID break, def wrong for that, but Sylphie knew it was promise he couldnt keep and took it with a grain of salt.

Ngl this show has actually went in on pushing the denormalization of traditional unions between persons. This sort of relationship in my experience is never elaborated on in this way in media. 12:15 Sylphie had already expected this of Rudeus even before getting married. She's known more of his bloodline than he did and for longer. She hung out with him since she was five, was a plus one in his father's house until she was ten, worked together with his cousin since she was ten, and often attended meetings with his uncle while she was 10-11. Luke always extolled the values and proclivities of House Notos, and Sylphie knew Rudeus was of that bloodline. In volume 8 of the light novel, she thought that if Zenith hadn't been a Millis adherent, Paul would've easily had five wives. And she resolved herself to be the mediator in the household if/when Rudeus gets three or more wives. But then she got bummed out at the (at that point) reality of her dream of marrying him being a pipedream. Some 8-9 months later she did marry him, and less than a year after that the scenario of him taking another wife came true. All of Rudeus' promises for fidelity were one-sided and she never accepted them, no matter how good they felt and how she would've liked to have him all to herself. She knew his bloodline's proclivities and she expected him to conform to them, but she accepts this about him. But what she feared when he brought Roxy home was that Rudeus would tell her that he no longer loves her and is taking someone else as a wife. She absolutely fears being replaced. Her entire existence revolves around the love she shares with Rudeus, and losing that would destroy her. But she does have hard-set conditions on whom she would accept as being added to the household. The candidate has to fulfill three clauses: she loves Rudeus, Rudeus loves her, and she isn't Nanahoshi. Rudeus just happens to be so dense and so unsure of himself that he recognizes that Sylphie accepts everything about him, but he's too afraid of telling the truth about himself to her. What got her to accept Roxy is that she fulfills all three clauses. And she knows exactly how Rudeus has always felt about her, hearing about her almost non-stop even before Rudeus was sent to Roa. Rudeus' telling of Roxy made her seem larger-than-life and a peerless superhuman, but the reality before Sylphie is a vulnerable young woman in love with her husband and just about ready to shatter from the idea of being excluded from his life.
The last part was masterfully written by you. That part with Nanahoshi made me almost crack up. Sylphy's disagreement for Nanahoshi is not yet explored, right? Is it to come forth later seasons?? We only saw Sylphy's jealousy towards Nana a bit but that got cleared up fast. Is it really the case that even after first two conditions being met, Nanahoshi is not an option? Why? Spoilery reasons?

-Milphy- Sylphy really became top5 waifu-material with this episode alone. Compassionate, understanding, loveable and adorable, without ever becoming a pushover. You just know she'll become a great mom. I also *love* how, despite their rough start, we see Roxy and Norn holding hands at 15:58 . It's such a nice little detail to show us that they too will be daijoubu.

Yes Sylphie is very mature here, not because she is accepting betrayal from Rudeus but because of how she did it and how she handle the situation. Her words have meaning and makes you and the characters understand her feelings, there are no convenient excuses here, everything she says makes sense for her character. She was also very clever on bringing the "Paul did it too", she didn't say it as an accusation but instead she didn't in a way that helps Norn reflect on the circumstances.
Well, Sylphie's acceptance of Rudeus second wife was mostly expected I think. She spent years visiting Paul's house even after Rudeus left (Lilia taught her to cook and clean and she helped take care of Norn and Aisha). And she knows the reputation of the Greyrats. Her second best friend is Luke Greyrat, who is a huge womanizer (pump and dump style). Compared to him Rudeus is pretty tame (at least he marries the girls he loves). The tension was really about what she would think about the cheating, since he DID promise her... If I recall, in the light novel, Rudeus tells Sylphie the whole story. So she has a better understanding of what happened when she makes her decision.
Norn is such a hypocrite 💀 her hero and idol had two wives but god forbid Rudeus do the same. Over here just invalidating the hell out of her half sister’s existence. I kinda wish we got book Sylphie to check her instead of what we got in the anime.

The regret hitogami was talking about is: If rudeus goes to help, Paul would die (what happened), but If he hadnt gone, Roxy would had die in the maze, in the anime they try to show it like if rudeus accept the pauls dead, but after in the novel, it is mentioned that rudeus regrets and blames himself for pauls dead for the rest of his life. So, in any of the choices he would regret and blame himself, either if was roxy or pauls who had died
13:10 It's a big house. Rudeus occupies the east master bedroom upstairs (which is titled the love nest) and the study downstairs next to the bath. Roxy takes one of the smaller rooms upstairs, Sylphie has one of the bedrooms upstairs (IIRC the one opposite the master bedroom), the sisters each have a room upstairs, and Zenith selected the west master bedroom for herself (much to Rudeus' worry, since the previous owner was killed by the doll there), with Lilia taking the room next to the west master bedroom. That still leaves IIRC three rooms vacant.
The way I see the "regret either decision" that the Man-God spoke of is like this: Should Rudy have stayed at the academy, Paul may still be alive, but Zenith would still be trapped in the mana crystal and Roxy would have died in the labyrinth. I am not 100% sure because I have not read the LN or Manga: but maybe the Man-God cannot see the ripples that occur from Nanahoshi much like how the Dragon-God Orstead did not know of Rudeus when they first met. And that's why he said that Rudy would regret going to the other continent due to the time frame it would take to get there, missing out on the birth of his first child, the undue stress and worry for Sylphie may have caused complications for the birth, and having only Norn and Aisha there at the time for the birth would be hard to handle. That is my 2 cents on the thought of the regret.
A little bit of spoilers!!!! All I got to say is Do NOT trust Man-God. I haven’t fully read the LN either but I know some stuff. I’m uncertain if it’ll be in season 3 or season 4 but Man-God is not trustworthy.
Super spoiler, the reason why Man God advised Rudeus not to go to Paul was because he wanted Rudeus and Roxy not to meet. Same with the time they almost cross path when Rudy was still travelling with Eris. Man God doesnt want Rudeus to end up with Roxy since he knows their child is (as I have understood) super strong and (not sure about this) brings his downfall eventually.

remember when Rudy and Sylphy had a conversation about long hair, that's when Sylphy had the idea. She's been constantly trimming her hair since she had to maintain her image back when she was still Ariel's bodyguard, and even before that, she trimmed hair when she had the green color because she hated it. But now ever since she became Rudeus' wife, she stopped trimming it and started to growing her hair
If u dont mind reading u can check some interesting stuff about this episode. Some details from the LN were really important, and since the anime can't adapt everything, it’s good to mention them. The journey back to his home was brutal. The armadillo they've got was expensive and is already living with them, Rudeus was worried about Zenith's health due to the hostile environment in Begaritt. Sometimes he would use magic to craft an earth chair to help keep moving Zenith. Another thing is that when they reached the teleportation point, they were attacked by monsters, but everything was covered in snow. He felt something was off and started running like crazy, but Elinalise asked him why he was acting like that. He told her he had a bad feeling. She asked him based on what because she didn’t know about Hitogami. Rudeus was thinking something could happen to Sylphy's baby. When he reached his home, he explained that the metal of the door was so cold he couldn’t insert the key properly due to his hands shaking. When he finally did, he couldn’t rotate the key and was getting impatient. Elinalise told him maybe it was already open (because it was). When he was looking for everyone, the house did not show any signs of response, which he attributed to the fact that the place did not recognize him as its owner. This was a really powerful moment because both the LN and the anime portrayed his desperation very well. Another thing they don’t mention is that Nanahoshi intervened to solve a problem at the magic university. Rudeus thought something must be happening to Nanahoshi in order for her to get involved and help the people of this world. Another thing is that Zanoba, Cliff, Linia, and Pursena would constantly visit Sylphy to check if everything was okay, and Norn is becoming some kind of idol with a group of fans at the university. Ariel was really angry at Rudeus when she found out he didn’t say anything to her about going to rescue his parents. She thinks eventually Rudeus will apologize to her. The dynamics between Lilia and Sylphy won’t be the same anymore since Lilia treats Sylphy as a lady now. But Sylphy asked Lilia to treat her like she did before when she was a kid learning, but Lilia couldn’t accept this. Lilia insisted that now that Sylphy was the wife of the lord of the house, she should be addressed properly. Another thing Lilia was planning was to live in the same city but not in the same place, taking care of Zenith alone with the money she got from the reward for the Hydra (she could survive 10 years easily with that amount) so as not to disturb Rudeus and his family. This idea was quickly rejected by Rudeus, who said Paul would never accept such things. At that moment, Rudeus in his mind reaffirmed the promise he made to his father to protect his mom even at the cost of his life and that his family must be together. Another thing is Viera and Shiera will go back to Asura's kingdom because there are more people from their team that are missing who they still in debt with. Rudeus also remember how Zenith's family in Milis financed Paul's group activities and decides to send them a letter to let them known Zenith was found. Another important thing for the future is Rudeus will investigate the scales of the hydra (((spoiler)))) in order to have more options when it comes to fight(((end of spoiler))) . One interesting thing is that Zenith chose the room where the previous owner was killed in that house to rest. Lilia said she will sleep with Zenith from now on. Ariel also contact one of the best doctors from Ranoa's kingdom to check Zenith. But it was no good he couldnt determine what was happening with Zenith. Another funny detail is when Sylphy was having the baby Rudeus was going crazy and Aisha was loling hard looking at him but Lilia scold her. When Sylphy gave birth to Lucy she was calm when she noticed her daughter did not have green hair but Rudeus thought the green from Sylphy, Ruijerd and at sometimes in certain Angles Roxy was so beautiful and that it was his favorite color in that world he also swear if someone treat Lucy like they did with Sylphy he will go against the world to protect her if is necessary. Paul's tomb was placed on a Noble graveyard Rudeus knows Paul probably wouldnt like this but he explain they take care pretty well of the place. He also intuits that all the members of the group visited him individually. Geese and Talhand will move to Asura to trade the magic items they've got and change Begarit currencies with the current one and they will leave at the end of the winter. There are a few more but better not go in the spoiler territory.
There is so love and thought put in every arc of the story, Unlike Lazy powerups without any efforts in many of the other isekai shows. Character development is really sick and relatable to understand why characters will act like they do and are written very complex.
Keep "regret" in mind when watching season 3. Cause Rudeus was right, there's more to come related to that thanks to the decision of Rudues going there, that whole regret thing haven't started yet. Lol XD
The next season is gonna be insane, there are people who dropped this anime on season 1, and I truly believe some will rewatch it again for the season 3, because it's gonna be Isekai peak 🔥🔥🔥 🔥🔥

Slyphie was in the novel more worried that he was gonna leave her for Roxy. But elaineise saying he loves you made her realize that he wasn’t going to leave him. Also norn only hates the idea of Roxy joining cause she’s a heavy believer of Millis which is hugely against multiple partners. For the most part only those apart of the religion are against it. Most don’t really care much for it. In the novels she’s only against the close friends being apart of the wife group like the princess Arielle cause she’s jealous of her prettiness. And nanayoshi cause she was jealous early on of their connection. Besides that she doesn’t care too much as long as he goes back to her in the end of the day. If you recall the man god had hinted that he could have married the beast girls at least one of them
in most fantasy books and writings elves have really strong genes so most times the children look like elves always. that might be why sylphie was hoping the child didnt have green hair
I had a hard time getting through S1 for the same reasons ya'll did, but I'm glad I did. I think this show does a great job of showing a pretty trash human slowly becoming a better person. That scene at the end where he was talking to Paul at the graveyard got me good.
It’s crazy cuz u expect everything to horribly wrong once again, but no, he ends up ACTUALLY getting everything he could possibly ask for. He always gets screwed at every possible turn and he finally can be happy. Absolutely crazy
How many more seasons till the story is finished because it feels like we’re lose to the end all that’s left is Eris arc unless we’re doing the full isekai and fighting against the man and dragon god or are we trying to return back to the real world or is Rudy gonna live his life out here and die happy accepting his life and growth in this world/complete life that he’s experienced
Long hair definitely gave Sylphie Mama demeanor. Rudy is just lucky she's that open-minded and mentally prepped for such a situation. I was expecting Norn to slap Rudy at least when I was reading the LN, since no one other than her could lol.
Man so glad you guys picked the show back up, granted I know they toned down a lot of stuff, but this story has soo much to offer(and NEXT season parts, 1 and 2, oh man...). and it would be a shame, and it is a shame for everyone that gave up the show.. I think you can guess what the regret might be. If he hadn't gone: Paul dead, everyone else too and he would have regretted not going on the trip. The journey from Rudeus to Paul was supposed to take 16 months without the help of teleportation (I'm not 100% sure anymore), so Rudeus would regret missing the birth of his daughter. That's my take on the whole thing
We were supposed to see Eris this season. They cut out the clips of her training and scenes we should’ve seen of her interacting with certain very important characters. She also is still obsessed with Rudy

In the novel, Sylphy thought that the second wife could be Nanahoshi or one of the two demi-humans. They cut these thoughts of hers from the episode, and she's literally telling Norn to shut up... She lived many years with Paul's family and knows the Greyrat's reputation, so she's not just accepting it for the sake of it. She is accepting it because she knows who her man is and because she sees that Roxy truly loves Rudy as much as she does and again She always knew the type of man she was marrying. For Sylphy, as long as the woman loves Rudy the way she does, it's fine. The problem for her is if the woman just wants to benefit from Rudy's name.
I'm thinking (Regret) is about something like Dragon god getting pissed because Rudy used Teleports or killed his pet hydra or maybe he has no relation to that at all dunno.
No lol, theres more than enough room in that mansion for each of them to have their own room, considering even the children have their own rooms later on, and sylphy and roxy will just be sharing him, one per night, plain and simple, they do dodge periods tho
