RUDEUS & SYLPHIE'S Reunion - The Plan Behind The Reveal | MUSHOKU TENSEI Season 2 Cut Content 

Usually konosuba is the funny isekai, yet I was laughing so hard at the looks on the princess' and her knight's face when Sylphie started getting really into her fantasies with Rudeus. The surprise that their stoic, silent mage was that kinky was priceless.

I was just so glad to finally see a romance plan _actually_ work out, and not follow the age old trope of bungle it up in some stupid way to preserve the status quo.

Luke: He's a real jerk for forgetting a girl like you. Sylphie: Actually, I haven't told him who I am yet. Luke: ............bruh.

Most entertaining thing, IMO, that was skipped that I feel they could have easily snuck 5 seconds of dialogue in. Was after slyphy envisions her future with Rudy, Ariel says “now envision someone else by his side instead of you” which slyphy starts to picture nanahoshi. And she screams out “no!”

Sylphy is just so awesome. When she said what she wished was so adorable.

I thought this was done really well imo, I would have killed myself if Rudeus still didn't recognise her after she went through all that effort setting up that cliché romantic event.

I was both shocked and happy Rudy wasn't a creep during the whole situation

Danm, that look in his eyes when you said he briefly thought fitz might try to assassinate him broke my heart.

i waited 11 weeks for this moment. i cheered. i actually cheered. Im so happy for Rudy.

I just want hear sylphy to cry louder in the anime, 9 years of waiting, and all those month holding her jealousy, the amount of relief that sylphy felt must be enormous

Sylphie's fear that Rudy forgot about her mirrors Rudy's fear that people will abandon him if they find out about his past life.

bro, whenever we get sylphy scenes I can't help but tear up. from her freaking out on nanahoshi about her parents to the entire cave scene, its all got me teary eyed

The best thing about Mushoku tensei is that the story is so rewarding after getting invested in the world building and character developments. Seeing Sylyhie finally able to reveal her true self to Rudy is heart warming.

I have for some time wondered on why Rudy would still cling onto his former appearance in his mind, rather than fully slipping into Rudeus Greyrat, but thinking about how he constantly beats himself down, I get why now. He just cannot let go entirely and fully accept who he is now as himself

One of the reasons I love this story is that the drama is never over the top like we're all used to seeing. In most anime stories every little thing is treated as a huge life altering incident even when it something dumb. In Mushoku Tensei the little things are reacted to appropriately and so are the big things. No exaggeration needed. You know how the feelings are for the characters and you feel it with them.

While the reunion was amazing ever since I first read this volume the novel I always felt that sylphy’s whole fear of Rudy forgetting could’ve been easily relieved if she just asked about any other silent casters he knows since it’s a very limited pool even with people he doesn’t know so it’d pretty clear if he forgot about sylphy and then they wouldn’t have to come up with such a convoluted scheme.

honestly its nice seeing the anime take it slow and this was by far the best episode in season 2 & in the top 3 eps in the whole series edit - to be clear I have read the LN I just like to separate that from the anime when rating bc each medium has their own way of telling it & think the anime is doing a great job

It was plenty emotional IMO, had everyone I was watching with and myself tearing up.

"How many kids do you want", "Oh rudy How many do you want to put in me". Damn and i thought rudy was the down bad one. They truely were meant for each other xd.

It did get a little emotional at the end and was a huge sence of relief for Sylphy who was expecting the worst case but ended up the best. U can’t help but be happy for her ❤

It was satisfying watching Sylphie reunite with Rudeus. This whole season felt like it was building to it.

An interesting thread for the future, but the scenes of Sylphie, Ariel and Luke plotting to set up the big moment do remind us of a fundamental issue with the whole relationship between Ariel and Sylphie. This is probably going to sound a lot harsher towards Ariel than she deserves. I do believe that Ariel's friendship toward Sylphie is sincere, and that Ariel does genuinely care about her. The episode also makes it abundantly clear that Ariel sees that Sylphie obviously wants a relationship with Rudeus, and Ariel then makes sure to explicitly confirm that's what Sylphie wants before pushing forward with the plan, so she's not forcing Sylphie to do anything against her will. All that said, there is still an undeniable undercurrent throughout those scenes of "we need you to sleep with Rudeus because we think that's our best path to recruiting him as an ally". Ariel's ultimate agenda is not ensuring Sylphie's lifelong happiness, her agenda is trying to take the Asuran throne, and Sylphie is on some level just a means to that end. Ariel's and Sylphie's goals align here, but there's no guarantee that will always be the case. And as much as I believe Ariel does genuinely care for Sylphie, if she's given a choice between Sylphie's well-being and something that will give her a better chance of taking the throne, I think we have a pretty good idea which she would choose.

This episode may have been the seasons climax but next episode we may see Rudy's.

It was wonderfully done and I definitely felt a bit choked up during the cave scene. They did a great job with Sylphie's emotional situation all the way up to the resolution. Both of them are still dealing with their own traumas which was plainly laid out along the way. It's always a pleasure as an anime-only to get your chill, informative enhancements to what we get from the anime and six months will be a long wait until we get to hear more.

Loved the reunion! I'll admit that i feared that Rudy wouldnt recognize her but Thank God he did and her efforts were rewarded! And i'll also want to take time to tell you that i love everything you cover! Specially Jobless Reincarnation. These days i've been feeling sick and binging your content has truly helped me! I absolutely loved this episode. And the way the reveal was made made me giddy all the way trough.

This episode was really warming. Sylphie is a great character with flaws and some great "points of character". And the "romantic plan" to make Rudy remember her, was in a sense comedic, interesting and really original :D I didnt cry....there was just water pouring from my eyes....becouse a giant bee stinged me...yeah thats it....

This episode made me tear up like crazy it was just perfect When sylphy revealed herself to rudy and rudy asked her the question and she started crying i couldn't hold the tears it was beautiful

I agree with what you said, I thought the reunion was done well but was thinking/hoping it would be a lot more emotional.

I’m glad the reveal wasn’t more over the top or strongly emoted. It gave it such a natural down to earth real feeling. Just Rudy eyes change ever so slightly from slight confusion, a dare to hope, and then a gentle relaxing to certain relief and happiness so grand that you nearly paralyzed by it. It was perfect.

The funniest part about the year Sylphy spent dragging her feet is that Rudy had fallen in love with Fitz. Memories or not Rudy was hers.

After the previous episode last week, I was unable to wait any longer for the anime episodes, i restorted to reading the Manga from start to finish, then when I ran out of that; I am now listening to the Light Novel on some youtube Cannel that reads it :)

I have NO idea how they’re going to fit what’s left between the remaining cave scene and where it NEEDS to end gets covered in 1 more episode. I mean, I do, but only at the expense of skipping a ton of inner dialogue and visualization that makes what should be the final scene a bigger tear-jerker than this one (IMO). It would be a master class in time management. I’ve got a feeling you’re gonna have your hands full with your next video.

I'm so glad this arc is over. Romance /school anime isn't what I was expecting after season 1 as someone that doesn't read the LN.

Not going to lie, I cried when she revealed herself to rudy. It's so sweet and beautiful the way that she hugs him and the emotion from her voice both the English and japanese. I don't remember a movie or show that's ever made me cry before so that's saying something. I swear if they pull a Zelda 64 where she somehow gets kidnapped by Orson shortly after I'm going to be pissed
