@Fowler Dragsuck Fritz Walter was more of an attacking midfielder from what I read. Uwe Seeler is a legend. I didn't see much of him but he's among the best forwards in German history surely.
What i realize immediately by watching highlights of oldschool german players no matter if it’s Matthaus Klinsmann Voller Rummenigge Brehme or whoever they all have no weak foot.
Grow up seeing Rudi Voeller ✌ Another great german underrated of that time, Uwe Bein from Eintracht Frankfurt. You should do a vídeo of him. Also Abel Balbo is partner in AS Roma and the Uruguai, Fonseca,he play in Cagliari then Juventus. They played in Serie A at same time of Voeller.
He was amazing at the 1990 world cup with Pierre Littbarski, Matthäus, Jürgen Klinsmann, Jürgen Kohler, Bodo Illgner, Andreas Köpke, Raimond Aumann and several others
There is a certain tradition in the German national team of having unspectacular, but highly dangerous and effective poachers in attack - Gerd Müller, Rudi Völler, Oliver Bierhoff, Miro Klose ecc. Their goals usually do not showcase here on RU-vid (this one is a rare exception) because there are no bicycle kicks, long dribblings and over-blown goal celebrations. But when they get the ball, you bet they get the job done. Germany have always been on their best when they had someone like this up front.
wrong Rudi was full of magic, nutmeg master and there are some flair goals too, the most argentinian german player ever is the one and only Voller, full of dribble and feints
Voller, dangerous striker and all round player. Also did a good job getting Germany back to the top after a terrible Euro 2000 & losing 5-1 to England, he took a weak German team to the final of the 2002 World Cup and gave a respectable display against a top Brazil side. Legend Rudi Voller
Germany had the luxury to play with two excellent centre-forwards. Völlers intuition and technical skills paired with Klinsmanns speed and volleys ! Other nations had only one top-man ( Netherlands-Van Basten, England-Lineker, Brasil-Careca...), Germany had two...The best duo in the world in late eighties and early nineties
What an incredible and talented footballer Rudi was. The headers, the ability to shoot and score from very bad angles, and the smart chip shots over keepers and other football player. Truly beautiful football at that time
We all loved to hate him with his hideous permed mullet (particularly admired by Frank Rijkard). Damn good striker though. From a footballing perspective I think it's clear that Klinsmann and Voeller were considerably better players than Gerd Muller. Beckenbauer talkas about Muller having devastating acceleration to leave his markers for dead and of course he always knew where to be at the right time. Who'd you pick though?
Gerd Müller wasnt very skillfull or flashy but had the best instincts i have ever seen in the box. As a pure number 9 i'd take him over Rudi and Jürgen any day.
Gerd Müller was deadly in the box, Völler and Klinsmann were somewhat more allround players/strikers. Never discount Müller's skills though, the records don't lie. Müller - best german striker, Völler and Klinsmann - legendary as well!
