nice...Very few people know that the first part of song "chand"i.e Sar sar per saadhar is very special and unique of its kind.Its RANNKI type and most diffcult. its breathless song .If u write this in hindi or gujarati there is no matra on upper side of word. It has very beautiful meaning and language is "Charni" not exect gujarati. When Ravindranath tagor first heard this song from Kaag Bapu(famous gujarti poet ) he stand up and said "vahh..vahh" and he ask Kaag bapu that he want to meet the poet. kag bapu replied that this chand is more than 250 year old and till now no one is able to prepare song like this. This chand was prepared by "Bhramanand swami" of swaminarayan sect.he was "sighra kavi" means he can prepare song spontaneously and this is example of his creativity.he has prepared more than 10,000 songs many of them are not available today. I like the remix and they have mixed song of Narhasi mehta and bhramanand swami. Enjoy......
Dhru Thumar I am from Odisha and was in Gujarat for 12 long years. This feels like magic nostalgia..Even in Classical Odia singing..we have songs which are called Chhaanda.And they are composed in Classical Odissi ragas. There are a lot of similarities between Odia and Gujarati language be it diction or sentences but I was surprised to know that this is called chhand..and we have Chhand..Kem chho in Gujarati becomes Kemiti accha or Kemanta achho in Odia..Fanas is Panas..Vasan is Basan..Randhwa is Randhiba(cooking)..Nano is Sano..Hun jaauchhu is Mu jaauchhi..and so on..
I love folk music from all over India....what a master piece and that flute...I can imagine lord Krishna playing such a gem in nidhi van...love from Punjab.
The flute is from out of the world. Such a heavenly composition and improvisation... Mind boggling. I'm a musician and listening to this song for 9 years now. It still gives me goosebumps

Coke studio you have given credits to all composers singers everyone. You should give the credit firstly to original lyricist. Just mentioning Traditional lyrics is not sufficient! Everyone praises your efforts in making this song..but the world should also know names of the original writer.!
Great. Great. Great.. Also heard original composition many times and i must say this is awesome.. Team salim suleman and karsan sagathia jugalbandhi, chorus, manjira, khanjari, bell and FLUTE. Traditional song with traditional instruments and rock version.. I think people who gave nagative comments and dislikes are deaf and dumb or dont know the M of music. Heard this song a hundred times but can't get enough...Wonderful music and the person on the flute is just out of this world...Salim and Sulaiman have once again produced a gem...so humbled and proud of the diversity and unity in everything in India

The best thing about CS is they promote the rich folk music of India whether gujarati or rajasthani and blend it with modern music so that it can be made appealing to the younger generation. These artists are the real rock stars and CS should keep promoting them and thank god Salim- Sulaiman have not included english rap in this gujarati folk song like as was previously done in beautiful marwadi bhajan KATTEY.
