This is one of the many reasons I love this movie even to this day. The parents don’t cover his nose up and Santa isn’t a jerk in this jerk in this movie. I just wanna hug Rudolph

I was thinking the same. His Dad gets pissed off in the previous scene just because the other reindeer are surprised when his nose glows, so why is he ok with them singing a song about it?
Just after the song finishes, Blitzen does get really angry and tells them to get lost (not his exact words but the point is made). My guess is it was a mix of shock and embarrassment that stops them from interfering immediately, which while it’s not something to be proud of, is understandable (they are only new parents and how does one stand up to an entire town when you don’t even know what to make of his nose in the first place?). At least it only lasts a minute and it doesn’t happen again.
