It was both, obviously if she kissed him in the cheek while they were both dressed up, he would have not reacted that way, he was already definitely holding back and the cheek kiss was simply the straw that broke the camel's back.

He was plenty turned on the moment they got into that room. The chapter has him respecting the space enough to still keep his wits about him and teaching her Japanese bathing etiquette. She did say it's OK if he wants to do it then and there, but he withheld until that kiss.

While it would be funny, but nah. That event comes (NPI) some four months later when Aisha started working. She'd follow Rudeus like a duckling, so he couldn't even relieve himself when Sylphie had night shifts. One night when she was staying he sealed the door to the bedroom, soundproofed the room, and went to town. Sylphie was impressed and opened her arms for another go, prompting Rudeus to make a swan dive. That night fits in terms of the passage of time for the kid.

​@@kerytaylor7797Rudeus did not care for Sylphy; he was separated by Paul as a child, because... he wanted Sylphy to be more independent. And judging the personality of the author by the origin of what he wrote, without knowing him personally, is stupid

And like he says in the corresponding chapter in the novel, the bath is the height of human culture.

And Rudeus does use lines from eroge during those nights, including the classic "Get pregnant!" So yeah, Sylphy gets exactly what she wanted and imagined.

Welp.

He'd been raring to go the moment they stepped into that room, but considered it more important that Sylphie learns bathing etiquette. The kiss just got him that last bit over the edge. Additionally, she'd already said they could do it there.

The timeline's much further along than that. The wedding reception was a month after the cour started, the sisters came another few months after that, Sylphie announced her pregnancy a few months after THAT... and the letter arrived exactly two months after that announcement. The cour is on the tenth month in the latest episode, by what I've looked at the mentions of the passage of time in the novel. This night was but a taste of things to come (no pun intended).

He actually made it a point to be respectful towards her, as he considered his first night with her to have been shameful and selfish performance. He doesn't go _rough_ on her, but their nights are intense and he does make it a point to leave her breathless every time.

The first season was much more entertaining and better paced, it perfectly alternated moments of development/world building/character's building with moments of actions or plot twist (the turning points). Nothing basically happened in the first cour, it was an extremely slow paced part only meant to develop Rudeus and make him overcome his trauma (the next episodes are gonna be basically only actions, which only confirms what I said, the first season was just better at alternating action and development, while in the second season it's either one or the other), hence why the other person probably thought the series fell off, but apparently he can't say that without you immediately whining about it, is he not allowed to like the second season less and feel like the series got worse? Fanboys like you are really annoying, always defending the series like your life depends on it even when somebody is not even insulting it.
