Will it reach Tolkien level of fantasy? Really curious when you say "one of the best fantasy stories" written I imagine the works of Tolkien. If it can reach that level then I have alot to be excited for
As a LN and Manga reader I wouldn’t say it surpasses that level, but it could possibly rival the level that Tolkien displays in writing Middle Earth. And if adapted right, I’d go as far to say it makes Mushoku Tensei the best written isekai ever.
@@mr.mk7323 Nothing will ever beat Tolkien in terms of fantasy story, simply because how much care and detail he has put into it, but Mushoku Tensei really does come close. But given how Rifujin (Mushoku Tensei's author) was basically an amateur with no formal education in literature, and Tolkien was a professor of English Literature, it's still a huge feat.
This probably my favourite episode in season 2 cause there was just to many good moments in it and seeing the announcement for season 3 had me screaming, we really won.
@@PineappleBaconPizza this show is evil, promotes abusive, creepy behavior. Author is probably a pe*do himself, for writing something like this and showing characters like rudy as positive protagonist...
It was such a tearjerker episode. I had tears honestly. And what a family drama. Kudos to Norm's VA. That was a splendid performance. But all's well that ends well. And baby Lucy is so cute. Also also. Sylphie really looks lovely this ep.
Dude I was on the verge of tears at the baby moment. That was just so crazy for me, I look at just how far we’ve come and to see the character Rudy so different and so much better than what he was. It was too real, I lost my mind seeing him cry.
It did not seem like Norn was yelling at Rudy over Paul's death. Rather, trying to rationalize it, because seeing Rudy missing his hand, she can tell he did all he could. It was during the whole thing with Roxy that she flipped TF out.
I 100% thought that norn's gonna blow up on rudy for Paul's death but she didn't It's character development But I also didn't expected her to blow up on rudy's second marriage But I like that norn was on sylphie's side which is also character development
Norn just sees Rudy as very strong, so she was just shocked that Paul died with him, but after seeing his missing arm she saw that he gave it all he could and he wasn’t strong enough to save him.
My brain had an aneurysm trying to process the emotions happening as Norn reacted to the news. The relief that Rudy and the gang is was back, heartache that Paul was gone, relief that zenith was alive, the hopelessness that she didn't remember anything, and the state of Rudy's arm, then the realisation that they haven't even got to the Roxy situation yet. The whole thing hit like a train and just kept rolling.
Other anime: Character dies Rifujin: aight bet. So dad dies. Oh yeah, we're an amputee now. Also, we fkd around and are about to find out. Oh yeah, mom too...😂
When the wind blew after Rudy was about to leave the sementary, it's as if dad said to him "Yeah yeah, stop yappin, go make me proud, son!", it make me tear up so much.
@@thecompareablezombie that would also require the author of slime But imagine this : a crossover OVA with all the main characters of all these three Animes... That would be a dream!
From Pauls Death, through Rudy and Sylphy new life sprouts, its a sad situation but also a moment where we can rejoice as we have another member of the Greyrat family joining us on the future endavor in this world
I also would have wished for Rudy pushing Roxy away. But, in this situation, he just didn´t have the strength. Is it fair to be disappointed in him? Oh yes, for sure! He still isn´t innocent. Putting all the blame on him is a huge red flag, though.
I wish they made Rudy more taller and more mature, like he is in the books, at least for this episode when they didn't for the others before. I think it is important. See how our Sylphy got to glow up?
Rudy needs a new VA. It honestly might kill it for me if he's a grown ass man with multiple wives and kids, but still sounds like he did when he was 5.
I mean yk...you cannot just change voice actresses (yes, it's not a guy) mid production... especially since they are so good at their job...i think they will change her in 3rd season tho..
@@name_adi Nah, They will probably keep the same VA, just ask them to sound older, and they will do a great job. Japanese VA are the best in the world
For anyone wondering in one of the deleted chapters Aisha had sex and got pregnant by one of Rudeus’s kids named Ars. When they got caught Rudeus and Eris both got upset and Ars and Aisha run away from home.
Nearly broke a few tears watching this episode. This was so wild man, I just can’t believe how well written this story is. How well developed the world is and feels despite not always being the forefront all the time. I know that LN readers have had their gripes because of cut content and all that but honestly to me I think this anime from the very start has been hitting every single beat it feels like all the best things of anime in one story. But still being like one of the most human and thought provoking narratives I’ve ever seen. I know it’s not perfect but sheesh man it’s damn near close to being so far. It was slow at times it did feel like some things weren’t necessary or some things weren’t given enough time but I think with time it will be such a wild rewatch and eye opener when you just sit with the show all at once. I’m so excited for season 3, I’m gonna be in there frame one.
My emotions was all over the place when i watched this episode. And it was also for the most part the heaviest for many reasons.Side note: before this season started I read for full 2 monts light novel and i was super hooked. (right now i am in 19th volume) I knew what is gonna happen but that voice acting and actually see that then that got me.I just love this story and this very light novel starts my fire for reading some light novels. And i was very emotional when Rudy holds his and Sylphi child.
Dude I appreciate you bro you’re commentary on the animes it’s exactly how I think man what a conclusion and hope to se you on season 3 of mushoku tensei
this is at least one of the best isekai ever. the story goes so much deeper than your usual run of the mill show and always opposes the norm. i love it
It's been a really good season, two is still by far my favorite, but I'm excited to see what's next. Also, No mention of the quick Eris tease at the end?! 🧐
I think the thing I am most looking forward to, and also the thing I am not prepared for, is the day Rudy reunites with Eris. "Oh I am married... with 2 wives". I can see the punch being wound up.
Love this season soo much, the only complaint I had that no one talked about was how the characters' facial features looked off sometimes, other than that this season was perfect.
I already knew Roxy would have been accepted before it even happened something I truly love about this series they love giving out little hints everywhere for a lot of foreshadowing you just got to be able to look and listen out for them.
Facts tbh when Sylphie thought even before being married about Rudeus being a Notos Greyrat and how he would probably still want girls after being married i thought Eris would come back because she went to train saying she loves him not knowing she hurt him Then when i found out Roxy was trapped in a labyrinth i thought about her fantasy in season 1 and was like here we go
When Rudy had the monologue about being able to die happy, I'd thought that was indication that they might not animate more. Then we got the announcement of season 3
Yes it was Great! I would have liked to hear you mention Norm’s sister, sorry I am drawing a blank, her moment where she is told it is ok to cry. She is trying to be so stoic that someone finally acknowledges that the loss of Paul is a loss of her father too.
Season 3 was inevitable. Like it has not ended in a satisfying way for all of us. Anyways. Going to miss the Mushoku Sundays. But it will return eventually.
I love Mushoku Tensei, and I hope they will animate until the last letter of the Light Novel. That being said, this episode felt like a proper finale, and I wouldn't complain if this is how it ends (not knowing about the Light Novel and how much more it can be)
And so the wait begins. I suspect that season three will come winter or fall of 2026 but if it comes sooner than that I won’t complain lol. Definitely one of the best ways to end a season. Rewatching this is going to hit just if not more hard (if that makes sense) than the first. I’m genuinely happy for the characters and that we’re gonna get a third season! Let’s gooooooooo!
as an anime only, i am excited to learn more about orsted and that floating island we saw from season 1. i had no idea that when i started mushoku tensei that it wouldnt exactly be giving us information about all of that as well as developing rudy. typical series would do it that way and try ti juggle both. but i have been very pleased with how the series does it's story telling. but i do wonder when we will be getting back to that---
Norn's VA was an MVP fr. Hope Rudeus can get his hand back. SO sad that I lost 2 shws this week. Kaiju No.8 and Mushoku Tensei. Now to watch my backlog.
Whoot another season of Mushoku Tensei has been announced! I am surprised they announced season 3 basically the same day season 2 ended. Of course the season 2 ending feels like series epilogue because it could easily end here if wanted to and many series would end here. The only problem would be the plot point of Eris going to the Sword Sanctum to get stronger before going back to Rudy.
I thought this episode would be the saddest episode yet, it’s still sad, but it’s wholesome that Rudy has a family that loves him and will be by his side!
I kind of wonder if they'll later restore rudy's hand with some uber magic lost to time or just invented; cause losing a hand seems so trivial with the power of magic at play.
Thanks for the reviews homie, been catching up with MT with your playlist, it's been a blast, glad to be caught up but very sad It's over for now, still a top tier ending that would satisfy even the hardest haters (probably xD)
But buying the lightnovel, you're not supporting the studio but the author himself… and the publisher. For the studio, there's a Blu Ray… or maybe official merch etc, buy it, but watching an a paid platform should already give them some 🤔 Heck, even supporting with Onimai would do the job in supporting BIND.
It was a good ride! I loved the conclusion to S2 and I shall await S3. Meanwhile yes I’m watching the house robot anime, a very interesting series to say the least, can’t wait to hear your thoughts and any other series you’re picking up this summer
😭 man this episode has me in an emotional wreck. I've been crying the entire time watching. I'm gonna have to read the LN, I cant wait 2 years. Mushoku tensei is hands down a masterpiece. I've never been so invested, and felt so many emotions as I have with any other anime. Everything about it is just so well written its just indescribable. I'll see you all in 2026. I cannot wait for season 3. I wonder what he was suppose to be regretting? Although there was fighting and hurt feelings, overall it seems like it worked out. He's got what's left of his family home. He got to marry Roxy, and had his first child with Sylphy. Even though he lost Paul, this is generally a pretty happy "ending". Knowing MT, I expected more of a soul crushing, tears flowing, absolute emotional despair ending to happen from the man god. I got the emotional roller coaster of tears, but were being left off in a bitter sweet, but good place. I'd also like to mention that Norn's VA absolutely popped off. I cant really put it into words how good of a job she did. She has me absolutely gut wrenched. She absolutely deserves an award for her performance.
The episode was beautiful. Although I have read the novels, waiting for Norns' and Sylphys' reaction made me anxious. My man Rudy has gone a long way and yet still not so far from the beginning.
brooooooooooooooooooooo i criesd so much when norn found out her father died and mostly bc i was waitijng to hear rudy tell his family he wanted a seconmd wife, thatr whole ordeal made it so i was caught off guiard and remnined that paul died dammmmn
This 2nd cour of season 2 was excellent, sure they had to skip and change some things. But damn the big moments were impactful, rescuing Nanahoshi and Norn form depression, saving Roxy and Zennith, losing Paul. Many anime can go a whole season without one moment as good as these
I have a theory well it’s not really a theory but an assumption of why the author of the manga mushoku tensei would name the mc “Rudeus Notos Greyrat” as the first letters stand for “RNG” which means random number generator which is often used in games and just anything which includes randomness and probability for example in gacha games etc and i think rudeus was reincarnated by RNG and the mass teleportation incident also threw people in random places etc etc and there are many instances in which rng could be used as a term to describe that event in that world, so it was kind of a fitting name for him lol, just some assumption
Rudeus answers this himself he would act like a pissed toddler. But so what things dont have to be tit for tat. Sylphie says she doesnt have eyes for anyone else and accepts who she married
@@deathitself6985 Exactly. things aren't black and white in the real world. We also already knew Sylphy was pretty relaxed about other woman near Rudues. She even told him he could get a mistress if she couldn't bear children.
I wish we could crowdfund the animation for Season 3 to let people spend twice as much time working on it. Season 1 was practically a Studio Ghibli film. If we could get back to that for Season 3 I would be eternally grateful.
Oh man Sylphie is too good for Rudeus omg! SHE EXPECTED IT!?!?! And Rudy is not even pissed at the fact that she expected him to cheat even though he swore on it. gyaaaaaaaa Sylphie too good for everybodey
Telling Sylphy you had an affair and want to take Roxy as a wife while she is 8 months pregnant with your kid is fucking wild. you can tell Sylphy died inside. i feel its such a bad timing to anounce that right after pauls death (like atleast wait until the kid is born you dont know how sylphy will take this and how it could affect the baby) and Sylphy is honestly the worst person to do that to cause she has done nothing to deserve that (she is also in a pretty bad spot to refuse since she has no family). i also felt that its weird aisha didnt cry over pauls death.
how is it weird? Aisha was never that close to Paul unlike Norn. She spent most of her life with her mother during teleportation incident. And she always holds back her feelings because she is trying to look adult for her big brother that she wants to impress
seeing seson 3 confirmation in last episode is make this anime perfect.. i dont need to resteles asking in Reddit for when next seson come😅 save my time
I've been watching for you god knows how long (10 years +) and it seems to me, you've never been this invested in a Character. So Jacob, what makes Rudeus different???
