I disagree with you about this episode, I have read the novels even the freaking manga and I love this series, but the anime messed up badly with this episode. Rudy not having eaten for 2 whole weeks wasn't covered, the group dropping the bomb onto Roxy about Rudy being married and her being discouraged wasn't covered, Ennalise nudging Roxy along to go "help" Rudy in the first place wasn't covered, they switched it to where Roxy was on top where Rudy was the one on top but hesitates until Roxy says "we can do it", this painted Roxy in a very bad way and made Rudy seem as if he again was unwittingly taken advantage of by 2 of his 3 love interests, that she didn't even have any reservations about jumping onto a married man, I just hate this for the anime onlys who don't get the full context and content behind these super significant moments in the series, yes they cannot cover everything but you have to do justice to covering all of the super important details to the biggest moments within the series. Also idk if this is true but I heard that this episode was outsourced, if anyone could confirm that lmk

We'll probably see Eris in next season. When there's a big change like this in Rudeus' life, there's usually a transitional volume in the light novel. The anime usually does 3 volumes per season (part). So the first few 3-4 episodes will be showing how his daily life changed (v13), though this one is a prime candidate for cutting content. Then next volume is an adventure (v14), which is related to Nanahoshi by the way, which then transitions into the big event on v15 (and Eris' reintroduction). No idea if this could change if they add OVAs though.

It's really funny that I haven't seen the outrage a lot of people were predicting. I kind of get it - one scene from the LN that would have put the entire affair in much better context and was only hinted after the fact and people are upset that was left out (and it would have been cool if it was added), but the producers handled an episode that was going to be really sensitive really well. And I've always said if I had 100 marbles, Roxy was getting 35, Sylphie 34, and Eris 31.

Beautiful, beautiful episode. 'I thought I wasn't Paul's kid, but he was my father." It's been a while since l've read the novels, but I have a feeling they skipped quite a lot of stuff yet again. On another note, I wish they showed more of Rudy's and Roxy's "relation" but not in a sexual, fanservice way. I mean it in a way they did with Eris in S01. It was just beautiful. I think there should have been more emphasis on the act itself. And you can do that without actually showing "inappropriate" stuff. Personally, I am more kind of Millis' teachings follower but I think polygamy was done well by the author. I mean I can still appreciate it, and agree with how it was handled even if I personally would not do it. This is just harem done right. It actually makes fking sense unlike other 99% of anime.

There was a whole thought process Roxy had before doing that I think but I doubt the anime covered it. Basically Sylphie was nowhere near to offer Rudeus comfort in a situation he didn't look like he could come back from as he had basically given up after losing Paul and realizing he cared for him. So Roxy took it upon herself to do so. Rudeus wasn't exactly in the correct state of mind when this happened. Without that whole context the anime just makes it look like they did it just because.

Moral of the story, in anime, manga 1,2,3,4 .... wifes is good, real world NO remember to separate the two fam, dont get mad over fiction, to all you that actually do get mad over this btw.

4:32 I really don't think Zenith is a vegetable--if anything, she's been restored to infancy in her adult body, so while her memories won't come back according to Elenelise, she probably will be able to live out her life once she relearns how to move and use language. As an anime-only and watching cut-content videos from that one channel I was kinda surprised by Roxy's move. Ya, I saw the door getting locked and her in a light outfit, but that she would pull through.. Respect. 🫡I kinda liked how she went on afterwards, no wishy-washy "what have I done?", she just stayed true to herself and actively supported Rudeus during the journey. People who complain about this show mostly fall in three categories: 1. they hated the show from the beginning, or rather when they learned about Rudeus past, but still watching it to make complaints almost every episode, about Rudeus being an absolute p3d0 as he is technically 40+yrs old and b4ng1ng little g1rl5... 2. tourists who hope it's an action packed anime and complaining since 20 episodes what a snore fest it actually is 3. a bounch of entitled Americans who think their culture reigns supreme and believe it has to be applied anywhere, in the real world and in fictional worlds. They will never accept any other culture form or fictional world settings. Everything must have the American culture and its laws applied.

I think it works here, since the writing is so well done. We have seen plenty of each character, sylphiette was the childhood friend, that returned to mend his wounds of the soul and bring him peace. Roxy, gave him the strength an wisdom to live his new life, and in his weakest moment, she pushed him to continue to live his life. Eris was the spark of his youth, the flame of his travels and the thrill of adventure She was there to be protected, and when rudy needs her most, I can guarantee she will be there to protect him. Rudy is a scumbag, this is true. No one is a saint, I love each of them for who they are, flaws and all.

Honestly, I want Sylphie to get at least a little bit mad or at absolute minimum disappointed. Rudy wasn't really in best mental condition to think through his action and definitely Roxy shares larger portion of the blame(which she understand) but he still deserves some scolding for cheating. I loved this episode. I liked it more than previous one. That line "I never considered myself Paul's son, but Paul was my father" was so heavy. It positively surprised me that they addressed that what Roxy did could be interpreted as taking advantage of Rudy's mental state but I guess I should have expected that level of realism from mushoku tensei. It was really heartwarming when she explained why she did it and it makes so much sense. For almost everyone Rudy is this extremely capable genius but in reality he doesn't handle traumatic events well. Roxy and that guy in whose party Rudeus was for some time are probably the only people who saw how hard is for him to move forward. I hoped Rudy will remember and understand that dual-wielding talk Paul gave him so I didn't expect Elinalise to be one who gives him idea of making Roxy his second wife. I didn't gave Elinalise enough credit because I expected her to get mad at Roxy and Rudy(because even if you support polygamy it was still cheating). Then we had confession. It was perfect. Not too easy, not creating some weird misunderstandings. I think the way Rudy couldn't bring out the words really sold it for me. Speaking of which, can we appreciate how cute it was when Rudy was struggling to tell Roxy he loves her? Usually in anime when someone struggles to say how they feel it's just stuttering or starting word but ending it with something different. It isn't very realistic and usually it ends up turned into a joke. The way Rudy was acting seemed so much more real. With Sylphie the situation was a bit different so it's basically his first confession. With Sylphie he always seems so capable but when he is with Roxy he gets exited like a kid, he gets shy trying to confess. It fits really well with that part that Roxy knows his vulnerable side and perfectly fits with how Roxy described her ideal man "young man who's manly but still makes childish expressions". It makes me think how similar are Roxy and Rudy. In terms of life experience both of them would be easily considered to be adult but both of them have childish side.

Let's be real, Sylphie was expecting Rudy to duel wield since she was 6 years old when she saw Paul picking up a second sword. It also totally doesn't help when her closest colleague Luke Notos Greyrat picked up countless girls in front of her, giving her the impression that Rudy will never stop with only one wife. Oh and let's not go into the complicated relationship Ariel has......

I feel like Zenith being a vegetable is terribly unfortunate. Rudy literally lives a few minutes away from a magical school, it is a place where people can literally study her condition and potentially heal her. That, or they can get Rudy in contact with magicians who can help. I think bringing everyone back to Rudy's home was inevitable but the best for Zenith after seeing her current state.

People need to stop forcing their real world standards on fantasy. If they can’t then leave and get gate kept. It’s already been established that polygamy is a thing in mushoku tensei. Plus if any of them bother reading history these kinds of things aren’t uncommon

I'm ticked by how much they altered/skipped from the LN. Rudy wouldn't move for a week following the return he was also unable to consume anything. Roxy, at a bar with Talhand and Lise asked what the should do Lise recommended sleeping with Rudy. Roxy also didn't know about the marriage and kid until after they slept together additionally all Roxy did was awaken Rudys primal instincts and it was those that cured him not Roxy bein on top. it was shown that Roxy convincing Rudy to screw her literally saved Rudy's life. I don't dislike what I saw, but changing it this much... It played a role in the LN ore why his family forgave the action curious what they'll do next week. not as bad as DxD dub not having Issei call Rias president until S4, but similar

However she also realize if she did that then her life wouldn’t have been as fulfilling as she currently had it with such a big family

The source reader community is pissed off because it changed some things and cut some stuff out. The anime only community is upset at Roxy and Rudeus for being scummy. That's life though. People try their best, but fail all the time. They are both flawed people, most people in this world are. They own it all though, you gotta give them that.

This is a part of the lightnovel that always upset me tge most. It's not about cheating but about a man been taken advantage of ans blaming himself fir it. Yes Rudy has very questionable behavior but this was by no means his fault. He was incredibly depressed and shell shocked. Even if he physically responded and engaged in the act, this is a biological response, blaming him is the same as blaming r*p* victims. He's always had feelings for Roxy but when he was mentally well he never consciously took action. People ask "why he didnt say No or remember his family?" But he wasn't mentally there to do such a thing. He was shell shocked, a puppet moving with the flow. If you have ever heard the testimony of male ab*se victims, it's what theu say. No matter the good intention Roxy took advantage if him when he was broken. He wasn't in his right state of mind. By modern standards it was s*x*al ab*se although he understood/forgave/took the blame himself since she helped him. He's a victim. Although Elinalise is also at fault for putting the idea in Roxy mind. However, we can't judge the moral standards of that world by our own. So the whole situation is complex. Rudeus has many flaws and commited many mistakes but this time he's a victim and takes the responsibility which is very sad...

Still all (current) wives of Rudy are his childhood friends... :)

Great episode. Honestly for how he was, Roxy was in the right for what she did. Plus Roxy proved she best girl this episode. But I’m willing to be proven wrong, we’re still waiting for eris to come back. Just Amazing episode

Concerning Rudy finally asking Roxy to marry him. I actually prefer what happened here to what happens in typical harem animes. In typical harem anime, the MC is some clueless dumbass who has a flock of women who want to marry him and the MC is somehow oblivious to that, "doesn't know how he feels", or both. And by the end of 12 episodes they have a full harem and no commitment, or he "finds out he actually loves this one" at the end of 12 episodes after being clueless with everyone else. Here, Rudy has been aware of his feelings and expressed his feelings with Eris, Roxy, and Sylphie. Sure he took time to learn his feelings, but in a mature way coming from the kind of guy he used to be in his past life. He has had to go through a lot of personal growth. He isn't ignoring his feelings nor theirs. I think he is handling everything very well.

In my opinion, the biggest mistake the anime did was not properly explain Rudeus' situation. I saw many people in the episode's comments who didn't get the reason for the gaunt face and thought he was just sad and that no time had passed. When the truth is he had spent almost two weeks sleep deprived (due to nightmares), he puked everything he tried to eat and was slowly starving to death. There was no returning without Rudeus power either (because of the sandstorm). If Roxy didn't do what she did he would have died in that room. All the studio had to do was show Rudeus puking his food and show a speeded up day night cycle of the sky to explain several days had passed. That way people would have understood the gravity of the situation. Honestly, I feel the event in the book is similar to when a group of stranded people have to eat their dead to survive. The act is reproachable, but understandable. I at least couldn't blame them. Otherwise Rudeus would have returned inside an urn too.

They wre drinking at the bar thinking about Paul and Rudeus, thinking about what to do next, Gesse sayd that in this kind of times the heat of a woman can snap you out of the state Rudeus was in, but wasn't to certain that sleeping with a woman he dosn't know and he had to pay woud make him feel better. he pointed out that normally Elinalise woud be all over Rudeus, she knew well how to confort the hearths of men, and don't mind to "get her hands dirtty" she had done this more than once and was confident she cud help him But this time she cud not. she woud be Betraying Sylphie her own grand daughter she woud be betraying Cliff, with his best friend no less! she knew that sleeping with Rudeus woud be a mistake she cud never take back. Roxy is a LOT more agresive in the anime, in the Novel she came to Rudy to chear him up but wasn't thinking about doing it with him or rather she didn't tought he woud want to do it with her. in the novel Rudy was the one who pull her hand and she fell into her lap, thats when it downed on Roxy that maybe she had a chance and went for it. the second major thing they skiped was they Rudeus told Roxy about his past liffe... indirectly telling it as a unrelated story, he told her about a man that became a shut in and ignored her parents untill their deaths and never even went to their funeral he told her that this man now made his liffe elsse where and cud not go back to visit their graves. and even iif he cud thers a chance he cud never go back. Roxy said "then you can onlly cherrish the familly you have now" the third major thing left out is that when Rudeus was talking with Elinalise, even after all she said and how much he wanted to be with Roxy to, but he promised Sylphie he woud be onlly hers and, even if he broke his promise once he was not gonna make it worst when he was saying just that Elinalise said that Roxy havn't have her period... and asked Rudeus "what are you gonna do?" he said that he was gonna take responsability THAT WAS THE FINAL REASON WHY HE WENT FOR IT.

She always fully expected and accepted that he would have multiple wives.She said that she would prefer to be his one and only, but knew that was highly unlikely.Rudeus is literally the only person in the story who was trying to hold himself to the standard of monogamy. And while that's a good thing to do, Sylphie has already told him that she would accept it if he fell in love with another woman.

It says a lot about an episode when instead of verbally reacting to what happens I stay completely silent so I can hear everything and because it’s subbed, read everything to. Even more so when I felt like I was holding my breath the whole time. Just gonna say this now. Roxy is my favorite of the female leads and so this was my episode. That is unless next week goes even further beyond ssj 3 style.
