Ruff Sqwad in the early to mid 00s were killing it with their remixes and mixtapes, I remember hearing this, walking you home and together and being completely blown away that British artists were able to make stuff like this, pretty much out of their bedrooms.
@@alexanderthompson683 of course they do, Akala belongs in the same league and skinnyman and sway and can’t really be compared, Wiley is the godfather and always will be, Dizzee is a legend for being the first to bring it mainstream, kaon’s p’s n q’ is one of the greatest first albums, could go on for days mate, chipmunk, big Narstie, example, pro green, plan B, krept n Conan, p money, lethal B, and probably a million more artists you’ve probs never heard of
@@markholt121 but hey that's the beauty of music, everyone can have their own opinion on who is the GOAT and mean it because it is all subjective, the only objective measure of an artist is sales, which doesn't always reflect skill, sometimes they just hit a vibe at the right time
@@alexanderthompson683 it’s good to be able to debate with someone who clearly knows their music 👏 and your points are valid and can’t really argue as you say it’s all down to personal preference but I’ve never gone on the sales, just the impact they’ve had on me and the impact I believe they’ve had on the grime scene, which I put into about 4/5 sub categories not meaning each one isn’t great in their own way. Any recommendations are always appreciated 👍
