Disagree. That may be true, or it may not. The ONLY thing which actually matters is knowledge of the location of the air inlet for the vehicle's engine. If it is low, as some are, the motor will ingest water and be damaged or destroyed, and the speed won't matter. If it is high and water can't reach it without submerging the entire car, then you can blast through. If it is hood-height, then slow would be more prudent, to avoid the bow wave.
@@125AXer You're wrong. If you hit the water with enough speed, it's like you hit a solid wall and can seriously damage your vehicle. The dark 4x4 demostrated that perfectly. Under perfect condition you want to go in, creating a bow wave and keep steady to stay in the valley just behind the bow wave. And most people forget that it is not only the intake that can cause trouble. It's the most obvious issue, but both transmission and differentials have breathing valves. If they are submerged and those parts cool down (due being submerged) the resulting pressure differential can suck water in through the seals. And you really don't want water inside your transmission nor the differential...
What goes through peoples' minds to think, "Right, the road ahead of me is flooded, and there's a car that's got a flooded engine because of said flooded road." *Drives through the flooded road anyway*
Nothing there to stop anyone ( except maybe an old model mini or moke ! ) if only they would go thru at just above walking pace ! Silver Golf gets it right. 😎👍
Goin fast through deep water … best way to flood your engine … nice 😊 … Ok admit it … the Land Rovers Are your Friends … just their to show off … don’t worry, I already bought one 😜👋😂 Nice shot from the riverbank by the way 👏
Tom...Awesome video! Got the notification just as I started work...First chance I've had to watch. Felt a bit sorry for brave old Mrs MG...She made it through one way...Then destroyed her car on the way back...Click 😂 All the real Land Rovers...Not the slightest problem! The Chelsea Tractor edition destroyed...You can even hear the hamsters squeaking 😂 Thanks for getting completely soaked on our behalf...You're a Legend mate! 🔥🔥🔥
@@TomSunderland Yes it was! Thank you! Just watching Fails Part 2...I shouldn't laugh...But the way they rock forwards when the engine locks up and grab the keys or go to push their little start button...Makes me cry with laughter...It's car!...Not a boat! And now it needs a new engine! 😂😂😂
-4:51- The ford is a fierce opponent, it will knock your lights out with a single blow :) Edit; 5:23 -scoring the first time out like this didn't work-
No money in pockets can bring great driving knowledge 😅. Slow n steady driving is the key to cross the River. They think if it’s a Range Rover they can move mountains in a stupid way 😂
I have noticed that the German cars don't sail as well as other cars, lol, or is it bad driving, no UK insurance company will pay out if you drive into floodwater.
Surely it's not too hard for regular drivers through this ford to fit a snorkel to their air intake and raise their exhaust so they can barrel through without any problems. I hope the tow truck man charges lots of money.
I'm mad at the red Range Rover driver. How can you f* this up this bad with a capable vehicle. I mean, it's common sens to slow down when you're about to cross water.
Can someone from this area please explain to me why so many people drive through this? Are there like literally no other roads for a 20mile radius? Why not just take another road that's down the street? I'm quite confused.
I do lol, I was completely dripping wet from 8:30am to 5pm and I wear just may normal shoes but at the end of the day the footage i got was worth it lol
@@uhtred7860 sooo in layman’s terms, have a canopy under your engine so you plane over the water and it’s hard to soak/smash parts if you go stupidly fast?
@@murrayclarke2171 What?? no, just go slowly through water, if you can see a wave coming over your bonnet you are going to fast, and or the waters to deep.
