The rufous-throated partridge (Arborophila rufogularis) is a brightly colored game bird with distinctive features:
Size: 10-11 in (26-29 cm) long
Weight: Males weigh 11.5-15.2 oz (325-430 g) and females weigh 9.2-13.6 oz (261-386 g)
Coloration: Males have a grey forehead, olive-brown crown and nape with black mottles, orange-rufous throat and neck sides with black speckles, blue-grey breast and flanks, whitish central belly, buffy-brown vent, olive-brown back, rump, and mantle, and chestnut, black, and greyish bands on the scapulars and wing coverts
Habitat: Lives in foothill and highland forests in India and Southeast Asia
Behavior: Usually quiet, but sings loudly and melodically at dawn and dusk
Subspecies: Have different patterns on their throats
