@Ronald W You're right. Riaa's site is inaccurate. They don't tally up the actual sales when they're giving total career sales. Prior to 1978 ( I believe) Gold certification really meant 1 million records sold. They're site doesn't list that. And I know for a fact that when Rufus and Chaka did Anerican Bandstand in 1980, Dick Clark held up a platinum ALBUM and SINGLE for Masterjam and Do You Love What You Feel before he introduced them. But that's not even on there.

Yeah, it an extraordinary decade. Creativity abounded, particularly in music and film. There was a definite energy which at some level we were all aware that it had left once we entered the 90’s. I had a miserable time at home at school but still managed to have many cherished memories from the 80’s.

My parents got to see Rufus when they opened for The Stones at County Stadium in Milwaukee in the 70s.. My Dad is no longer here, but music brings him back here with me This song is visceral & in my opinion the most beautiful track in existence Bless Chaka She has no idea how loved & appreciated she truly is ❤

the fact that the song was covered over 6 times and always was a good selling records tells a lot about the insane production If MJ would have recorded it originally it would probably also have been a hit, but I think Chaka Khan is just the perfect singer for it she sings it the best

When a female sings this song,it has more-MEANING-and heart,plus soul.Women have a-GREAT-more heart to actually-LOVE-someone besides themselves.I sure do know that,I grew-up with 5 sisters and my mother. My sisters and mother smothered me with hugs,kisses and attention and I LOVED it !!! LOL.

Timeless classic right here. Remember being a youngster jamming to miss Chaka. Now at 53 I love this masterpiece as much if not more then I did back then. Her voice still reminds me of Tina every time it pops up on my Playlist. Wonder if she is still alive today. Love ya Chaka thanks for all the memories.

Chaka, i was born in 1973, white kid to two racist parents. When this video came out I remember having the biggest crush on you.....at the age of 10. I still love this song, once in a generation, and I still think you're so beautiful...this video brings back so many memories
