Rufus Sewell "An Actor Despairs" Interview 

Rufus is great; he’s been underused by Hollywood in my opinion. I’m glad Netflix and Amazon has given him meatier roles.

I think he would make a GREAT Great James Bond.

Rufus Sewell is a superb actor. The role he played in The Man in The High Castle is mind boggling. Superb acting.

John smith Nailed in , only reason I watched “The man in high castle” is because of him.

He's just great. And terribly underrated. Very terribly. I know I shouldn't be saying this, but I rooted for John Smith in "The Man in the High Castle" despite me being German and him playing a Nazi. I loved this character's arc. Totally intriguing. And no, I'm no Nazi at all.

Rufus Sewell is so underrated. He is so incredibly talented. And he gets better looking with age. Im more into British shows and movies bc I feel like there is more raw talent in them than in typical glamorized American shows and movies. But Amazon and Netflix have change tv and movies. So hoping that means more roles for Rufus.

Love how introspective he is.

I'm totally inloved with this man. He is so incredibly perfect in everything: his thoughts, his sence of humor, his appearance, even his voice and his speech. We all see him as a hansome man, but even he, a man with such a looks, was dealing with mainor insecutities according his appearance. I was surprised about that. Also, for me it is a big pleasure to listen how he speeks British English. To sum up-Rufus Sewell is awsome 🥰 hope, one day I will have opportunity to meet him 😌

Adored Rufus Sewell as Lord Melbourne on Victoria. Simply brilliant. And, fancied him so much in Man in the High Castle--- in uniform, I'm afraid to say.

Where was I all these years? Lol. It seems that the character of John Smith completely reinvented this jewel of an actor for me and must I add- what a pleasure to look at and listen to! Just a brilliant humble and funny guy really, and I may now have to rewatch a whole lot of his parts and just hope to catch him on stage sometime (or street;))

There are only 3 actors I remember vividly on stage, despite it being many years - Jeremy Irons in can't remember the name of the play, Sam Best in Chekhov, but particularly Rufus Sewell in Art. I was drinking his performance and couldn't get enough of it! He is a totally magical actor... out of this world...

I remember him from the Holiday (I hated him so he nailed it lol) and the Tourist, completely forgot about Zorro as I was a kid when I watched it! I've saved 'The Father' on my IMDb watchlist now. I watched him first in "The Illusionist". I mistook him fr Jude Law lol. But he was so brilliant. Then watched "The Tourist" on TV. Later realised it was Rufus. I loved "The Man in The High Castle". Now looking forward to watch "Victoria" if I can find it.. Haven't watched it even tho it has my fav #DoctorWho companion Jenna Coleman in it. Looking forward to more of Rufus's work. He should consider doing "Educating Rita". He would be great as Dr. Bryant.

I love that Rufus was a real fan of his own character of John Smith, and fought for that grey area that most of us fans really wanted! It's kind of refreshing and validating to know that the the fanbase and Rufus were on the same page, and that the writers botched it. I agree, no offense to the writers, but it could have been better. They should have listened to Rufus!

OMG!!..I love this guy all my life...I was teenager when he star acting..I saw one of his movie back in venezuela..25 years later..still love him..he is the greatest actor, how he looking at camara, his grasping voice, his mystery, he is so handsome...I totally adore him...I think he deserves more opportunities and recognizition... I watched on the 1st of June 1997 in Sydney, Rufus in Kenneth Brangher's 4 hour film of HAMLET at the cinema! My birthday present, my 15th birthday. To see Rufus on the big screen. Then I went to see DARK CITY, an absolute classic film noir sci-fi brilliant film, again to see Rufus, and I remember it was the first film to be shot at the new Sydney studios, and I was at school, thinking Rufus is in AUS...He is a Brilliant character actor, and a sweetie. ! I just re watched dangerous beauty today, I'm going to watch the rest of HIGH CASTLE...LORD M..amazing work..KALEIDOSCOPE was addictive, hope for series 2! RUFUS IS ROCK N ROLL! and gorgeous...my first love..Will Ladislaw started my love of his work, from 1996 to 2023...cheers from AUS

His looks is so versatile within a greater range of possibilities from different roles such as Star Wars, Marvel, sci-fi. A great fitting for roles like Mads Mikkelsen Kaecilius at Dr Strange, Oliver Masucci as Ulrich Nielsen at Dark, Gísli Örn Garðarsson as Vidar at Ragnarok. Josh Brolin in his more recent roles like Matt in Sicario or Royal Abbott at Outer Range. Sewell has sharp eyes within an intriguing aura of mystery which gives him a deeper nuance of humanised likeable antagonists. Obergruppenführer made such an impact like if he was born for it ❤ Looking forward seeing more of Rufus Sewell.
