Most carpet manufacturers, the EPA and the carpet and rug institute will recommend you shampoo your carpets at LEAST once yearly, usually twice, and up to 4 times if you have a busy home. Maintaining your carpets regularly keeps them in good condition for longer.
Soap is the worst thing to use on carpet. Just hot water and if necessary spot apply cleaner in dirty areas. You can use a pump up sprayer for that along with deodorizers. Soap attracts the dirt and the carpet will get dirty faster. Just a tip!
I read that as well. Someone posted that you should use a sprayer with a mixture before and just use straight hot water in tank. The hotter the better and get all the soap up or it will get dirty again quick
@@joemama8379 Exactly! I learned this trick a looong time ago. If I have someone clean my carpets I tell them no soap just water but usually use ChemDry because they only spot treat and no soaps in water. A little more expensive but well worth it in my opinion
@OneDayAfterAnother You can never get all the soap out of the fibers. So as the carpet dries the soap collects dirt. Do a test next time. Try half your carpet with water only and the other with soap. The soap side will get dirtier way faster than the non soap. Also the soapy carpet will feel crunchy as it dries
@OneDayAfterAnother no you spot clean dirty areas before cleaning with hot or warm water. The water will rinse that area fine because you’re not saturating the spots with a lot of soap. I use chem drys spot cleaner comes in a aerosol can. I think there’s another one in a blue can that says “with oxygenated cleaner” or something to that nature, it’s a slightly foamy product. Sorry can’t remember exact name off top of my head,
You failed to address when to hold down the cleaning bar on the handle and when to let go to rinse. Hold going forward and release going in reverse or other way? 🤔
Vacmaster - sometimes these machines don't have the directions with them when renting. I actually found your video looking for the same info Charlie was asking for.
When you hold down the handle, the water will spray and the roller will begin rolling. It’s best to do this when pulling the device towards you, because the water is sprayed behind the roller. So, if you’re pushing forward and do this, it doesn’t suck up the water that it’s spraying. Therefore I find it best to hold down the button when pulling towards you and release while pushing forwards.
I’m using one now and it SUCKS! The solution empty light comes on after 30 seconds but it’s full, and it doesn’t even extract the moisture from the carpet!!! It’s supposed to SUCK when you let go of the button is it not?!? All it does is blow out hot air!! I even took the solution ya j off and held the button down (the brushes turn green high they’re the same as a damn vacuum cleaner bristles nothing special AT ALL and it sucks up the solution when you’re holding down the button so I removed the solution tank in hopes it would suck up and not have solution to put out but it makes no difference. The dirty water tank gets full after I go through two solution tanks but it just sucks. And after a few mins it makes this pop noise and the sound is higher and it lets out way more solution!! Worst first experience cleaning my carpet!
I had the original Rug doctor what a screamer , like this model better . How long you figure a machine like this lasts before it needs repairs? 👍🏻 good music btw
I wonder how this machine stacks up to the older ones. It seems they fixed several issues with the old one, but introduced a few new ones. That hand tool does not look as nice as the old one. It looks like it performs great.
Oh trust me, the performance of the hand tool is incredible. Has so much suction and the built-in brush roll makes it so great for stairs and upholstery
@@VacMaster1991 I can certainly see that. The one that came with the older rug doctors is really mediocre. It's cheap and I don't like using it. I just wish they could have put standard connections on this one like the old ones. I think having a proper motorized brush on an extractor's hand tool is very welcome though.
Old rugdoctor the legacy is better when it comes to suction and cleaning also durability the pro deep has a better hand upholstery tool and is more comfortable to use and still does a great job. I'm a esr for rugdoctor in California. Lol
Does anybody know how to do troubleshooting on these cleaners?? Mines won't put out water and it's saying Brush Jam on the light...but the brush isn't jammed at all
Mine is brand new and wouldn't spray out of the box. I found lots of other similar complaints. What I did was prime the pump by taking it apart and injecting water with a syringe directly into the hose leading to the pump. It fixed it.
Question is this new and improved Rug Doctor Pro Deep Commercial Carpet Cleaning Machine better than the BIG Green machine / Model 86T3. ? ? Since you have used both machines what is your intake ? Rug Doctor Pro Vs Big green machine Model 86T3 ? ? Would love 💗 seeing a video of these 2 powerHouse machines in action 😎
@@VacMaster1991 the big green by Bissell is better than this rug doctor machine? Seriously? Cuz I’m as curious about that one too but it’s like $50+ more than this one
@@VacMaster1991 It did put water down, but I wasn't going slow enough to vacuum the water back up. It still seems like there should be more dirty water though.
@@tiredofthebs9 that’s another thing i was thinking about looking at this. I’m not patient enough to go slow. I want the suction power but it seems like most comments and this reviewer says big green by Bissell is better. I will check out those reviews too. I’m here to check this one out and compare it to Tineco carpet one machine.
So I’ve read all your comments and the replies. It seems like you endorse the Bissell big green more than this rug dr. I will google the Bissell big green and check out reviews on that. I’m wondering what you think of the Tineco carpet one. Also the rug doctor says it’s 40lbs - that’s heavy. It doesn’t seem like it self propels.
I have never used the tineco carpet cleaner. The big green is the best designed of the professional carpet cleaners I have used. Another great option is the Bissell revolution pet pro. It's fantastic
Bissell makes something similar called the Big Green. Seems like a cheaper version of this rug doctor and prob not as good since rug doctor seems to be the king of suction power. I’m checking out this review to learn more on the rug doctor. I’m comparing it to another i am interested in. I own a rug doctor spot clean machine for pets and i can tell you it has the most powerful suction of any spot cleaner on the market - worth the $ for sure. Knowing that, I’m curious about an upright now.
My wife doesn't allow me to clean the carpets too frequently so. She lets me clean twice a year. We dont have any pets though however when i do clean the water is always dirty. I have never had my water so clean.
It's a gamble. Most times they don't work and you don't find out until you've dumped your money and hauled it home. Just pay a professional. Less hassle
@@VacMaster1991 the Bissell revolution pro heat 2x max clean is the first one i started looking at as my neighbor owns that one. I’ve seen her clean her carpet and it seems like it does a good job. But reviews say that it leaks, runs hot and requires cooling down before doing more work. Only 1 yr warranty on it and they say customer service is bad.
