I hope you don't stop making this model because of the new LCP Max. This model still serves a purpose for many people. While I have your attention, please consider making a new updated version of the hammer fired P Series.
do not dry fire the Ruger while the magazine is out and before you disassemble it. otherwise when you are re assembling it wont slid back in place easily you will have to manually pull the trigger hammer back then the gun will re assemble easily back in place. took me 15min to figure out why it would not assemble as easily as the video.
@@skeeterbodeen8326 that's a good one. I started using my plastic extractor-cleaning pick, have found it to work well. Would have been cool if a takedown tool had been incorporated into the package somehow. Perhaps on the little chamber flag doodad. Just nitpicking...
@@rob6850 I just got it Sat. from Buds in Lexington. I haven't used it once, but I always like to go thru the cleaning routine b4-hand. I hoping I get my daughter to train on it too... we'll see... take care !
@@alexandermedina4140 I sent mine back. The frame on right side was bulging. They replaced it and gave me two magazines for my trouble. Took about a month and had to do a transfer again. Ruger has excellent customer service.
Pretty good video, but you may want to tweak it to include a most vital tip for reassembly: to make sure the hammer is UP, or NO WAY is a person unaware of this going to get that slide assembly back on. I pissed away a half hour trying to figure out why the slide would go only so far - finally noticing the down position of the hammer keeping the slide from going completely back. One more stupid-ass design by Ruger for an otherwise nice little pistol, my first experience with their less-than-smart design being my bull barrel Target .22, the Ruger instructions for reassembly of which actually stated to use a mallet to tap the barrel assembly back onto the receiver! Who the heck designs a pistol for which a MALLET is needed to reassemble it?! Here's a third: the extractor fell out of this LCP II at the range, making me wonder about a host of possibilities for every spent round not coming out thereafter. The internet yielded a mountain of people with the same problem. Ruger kindly sent me a whole new slide assembly with barrel and the extractor pinned in rather than before when they had a pissant spring if you found it and pressed it in: DUMB! Why did they not pin it in to begin with?! Add my note about the hammer being up for reassembly to save people time! Thanks.
