I've had an ec9s for years. It was my first carry gun. I've had a love/hate relationship with it for the whole time... but last week I just picked up the same Hogue grip you have. Fixed every issue I've had with it aside from the occasional failure to feed, which happens maybe 1 in 250 rounds or so (aside from the rust problems). With the new grip sleeve, I have no problems unholstering or with accuracy... which were huge problems I've had in the past. Very happy with the cheap fix, as opposed to the expensive alternative of buying a new gun (Which I have done anyways, but I still like this for how slim and easily concealable it is).
I'm a blue collar guy. I work outdoors all day. Get dirty get bumped, wet and scuffed etc. I recently purchased the Max9 to replace my LC9s High Viz. Don't get me wrong my Max9 is not going anywhere(great firearm). For now My LC9s HV is still my go to. It's got a few less rounds but it weighs less. It's also a little sleeker than the Max9 and both those things are a huge plus for the LC9s with what I do for work. It's fabulous reliable and with the stock HV sites very accurate. Like this gentleman says The LC9s HV has very nice blued finish and great sites it's the Cadillac of it's line up(pre Max 9). The striker trigger on the LC9s is surprisingly great. Good reset. I carry hot with the safety on. I train with the safety on. That's my preference. The only thing I don't like is the mag disconnect but it's doable. I carry one extra mag in my overall bib. The gun fits perfect, super comfortable in my Carhartt overalls front pocket(good deep pockets). I use the Desantis Nemesis pocket holster. I have to say I've been a daily CCW guy for over a decade and this gun is a winner. I also rotate in the Max380 with the twelve rounder plus 1. 13 rounds of .380 in a even smaller package is crazy. And my Max380 has night sites and very serviceable trigger. In the Winter months I can carry both firearms. I put the Max380 in my inside zip up pocket in my Berne hooded duck jacket. They are both small and light(especially the Max 380) I barely notice either. *My 45's always in the truck 😜. A Springfield XD compact retained in a lock box. We're so lucky as Americans to have these rights. Dont let them take them!!!! Don't think they are not after them!!!! Be Strong Be of Good Courage! *Carry Ammo : -Hornady 9mm 147 grain JHP -Sig .380 90GR, Elite V-Crown, JHP 4:40
The mag disconnect is very easy to remove and it doesn't affect reliability at all. I've had an LC9 forever and it's never once failed or jammed. If you can get a used one for under 300 bucks, they're very decent gun. Slap a set of $60 night sights on it and it's honestly a very competent carry gun for most people.
I still carry the Ruger EC9S in rotation with my bersa thunder 380 for my edc. Outstanding pistol, accurate, reliable, comfortably concealable. I also added a hogue grip sleeve toinr as well. I added two magguts kits to 3 magazines making them 8+1, an Aegis precision trigger (no more mag disconnect), stainless steel guide rod and spring assembly, and glow on sight paint to the sights in case I need to shoot it in the dark.
I'm a convicted felon but I'm trying to get my rights back so I'm checking your channel out I thank you an I'm a law abiding citizen been home atleast 7 years takes 8 to get them back in Florida
I also had bad experience with aftermarket mags for my Kahr CW9 and with a MagGuts conversion kit to change a 7-round magazine to 8-round. The pistol works great with Kahr brand mags. Before I acquired some experience, I thought not much could go wrong with what is basically a metal box with a spring in it, but experience taught me otherwise.
I have the ec9. Installed Hogue Beaver Tail Grip. Like the 7 round mag. Shoots very good. Use it as hip IWB. 3 O'clock. Defence carry only. Train at 10 - 18 feet one hand/2 hand. Big bang for its size..
I bought it right when it came out. It's a very reliable pistol that can fit anywhere with very minimal to no printing on my skinny frame. I like to wear somewhat form fitting clothes for the most part so something tiny like this is great for short trips in the summer. 👍
The EC9s was my very first pistol and surprisingly I've been carrying it again recently even though I have other options. Sure its 7+1 but 8 rounds of HST is nothing to sneeze at. Mine has always been reliable and it disappears IWB. Its a little too big for me to pocket carry but on the belt its like nothing. It is very snappy but then again its not a range pistol. If I could go back I probably would've gotten something bigger like a Glock 19 but I found a new appreciation for the Ruger due to how well it conceals. The pinky extension and Hogue grip do make it alot easier to shoot and they dont make it any harder to conceal either. Im not a fan of manual safeties but I just carry with the safety off. The take down doesn't bother me but it isnt my favorite system. One could certainly do worse.
Just bought one. I’ve got 5 other brands and 5 different pistols costing >$1000 each. But I love this one and if I’m going out bumming around chances are I’ll be wearing this or my S&W Equalizer both under $500 (keep in mind I’ve got a $350 Holosun on my Equalizer). They both just work and with the right ammo, they’ll stop what ever needs stopped, of course with proper shot placement.
was my first ever gun, it sure is snappy, but never jammed, always shot accurate and cost half the price of a glock, only downside is the recoil. ive shot softer .40's
I've talked with a few instructors that have trained a lot of female shooters. There's a few that buy this as their first gun. And they don't like it. Recoil. I mean, yeah. I've shot some guns that buck like a bronco. The deal breaker on this one for me, is the mag disconnect. Refuse to carry or depend on a gun that has one.
Its been my edc for 9 years, ive thought of buying a max9 or a sig but i am actually happy with this. I carry two 9 rd mags on a belt holster, and the pistol iwb. It hasn't failed me at the range, and i felt 124 gr was a little easier to shoot than 115
I’m jealous…KEEP IT. please for the love of God don’t do what I did. I sold my ec9s and lc9, and went down the rabbit hole of the new “micro” 9 pistols. Had the sig had the hellcat had the 365xl, shield plus and Glock 43x. I literally was overwhelmed. I sold all of them and thankfully didn’t lose much. I’m going back to buy a ruger ec9s this week. You know why? Because it’s SIMPLE. I don’t have to worry about a red dot, or night sights. I love it. Plain Jane pistol
I’ve carried a lc9s in a Alabama pocket holster for a long time sometimes switch with a 642 also in a Alabama pocket holster most of the time I don’t even notice it I’m a Vietnam vet and I’ll be damned if I let some punk make me a victim without a fight
I had both the lc9 and the ec9. I gifted the ec9 to one sister, and my other sister obtained the lc9. Still have holster and 5 mags, so I am definitely getting another one 1st chance I get.
While I very much respect Spn for his opinions, and his views. Oh hey! I saw a car that your name on it today! Little window sticker with a circular sticker in the window that said "SPN" ! 😁😄 Myself, the way that I've been trained... I just can't do a gun with a mag disconnect. I've done just way too much of the "weapon struggle" grapple roll around, trying to get the gun away situation. And in those situations there's four main principles. Attempt to prevent the perp from drawing. Attempt to keep the perp from getting you in line of fire. Out of battery the perp's weapon, and finally... you guessed it.... drop mag from perp's weapon. And I've learned the hard way, you have to go into every single tussle assuming that the other guy knows just as much as you do, if not more. So if I know how to do it, the guy trying to do it to me, may know it too. Sorry to disagree with you on this one, Spn. But my opinion is different. Mag disconnect is just wayyyyy too much of a liability.
I got a p365 for Xmas this year so today took my wife to range they also sell guns she tried the gx4 and the ec9s we bought her the ec9 s in turquoise we did get a deal for 2 extra mags for 45 bucks
Ronaldpatton why are you so ignorant? Your opinion is a waste. Here’s an idea, some of us are WORKING men who can’t afford a $500 sig that shoots on its own, some of us want a reliable simple gun without the pressure of upgrading sights, and running a red dot. I used to be like you, I used to have the best gun. The “best” last gun I owned was a p365xl with Romeo zero elite optic and guess what? The extractor broke. I fixed it and sold it 😂
