Just stopping by to say thanks for this video It took me a couple trys to get the gun to function after dissesembly What I did was flipp the mag disconnect spring so the tension would keep the disconnect facing up all the time I also kept my manual safty ........... now I can fire the gun without a mag Regards, Rick

Do you still have your safety lever. If you do I’ll buy it from you.

I think there's a small hole in the side of the grip to hold the sear forward, so you can take out the chassis and put it back in without a hassle. You can put a punch in there hold push and hold it forward. Then you just pop the chassis back into the grip and pull out the punch from the hole. (edit: If you don't have a long skinny punch or a screwdriver to use, a paperclip can work and one time I used a tooth pick... so it opens up a couple options if you don't have the right tools).

I watched your video and thank you for the explanation on the safety removal. It gave me an idea. I decided to forgo the trouble and placed a pin head size drop of 5 minute epoxy on the safe side and pushed the safety forward to the fire position. After 5 minutes the problem was solved with out disassembly and no cavity where the safety was. I will live with the magazine disconnect intact.

Thanks. Sorry it is so long and amateurish. They are great little pistols but like to be run dry and clean. . Any lubrication seems to get dirty and gummed up within a hundred rounds.

@@enelnelson Actually picked one up this past weekend and got some range time on it as well. It's a hoot to shoot, I tell ya. Afterwards I promptly removed the mag disconnect and manual safety using your video as a guide. It was definitely thorough/clear enough, well done! You mentioned you have a lot of rounds through one with the modifications, any issues come up with the open window in the frame? It may be something I throw in a pocket once in a while, or on the waistband of gym shorts, so just seeing if there's any issues of crap collecting in there excessively.

@@Nate-tz5gr I have 3466 rounds over two years with the empty frame window with no issues. The LCP used in the video I took with 20 magazines and ran them through it fast. I had zero malfunctions with CCI minimags and have to say that impressed me. This pistol likes to be run totally dry. Minimal to no lube at all.

I removed my magazine disconnect in hopes of smoothing the crunchy trigger. It helped a lot. When shooting the LCP .22 I noticed the trigger hit 2 or 3 walls & I didn't;t know when it was going to fire. Felt crunchy. Much smoother now. I shoot it better & it's much more enjoyable. Also more reliable. It was running about 90%. One failure per mag. Now it hasn't failed in hundreds of rounds. I left the manual safety on it because I use this to train new shooters (also a Taurus TX22) & they freak out over not having a safety until they learn more.

Galloway precision makes a spring kit for the little lcp that will most likely take it from 90% to 100% reliability. Worked wonders on mine. Havent had a gun related malfunction since.

Is there any reason to leave the internal portion of the safety and it's spring in place? As near as I can tell on mine, it serves no purpose other than taking up space on the frame pin.

Nvm, figured it out. The spring on the trigger unwound itself and caught itself in a way that didnt seem to be out of place. Essentially relieving spring tension on the trigger bar... put it back (10 months later lol).

@@Jonbo117 so far so good. I ran several different types of ammo. It absolutely hates. Angula how are you spell it made in Mexico stuff. CCI mini mags does okay, but I've had the best luck with no malfunctions with federal punch but also ran approximately 400 rounds of just regular Target ammo and it did good so basically I just got a bucket of Winchester Target rounds and just started burning them up then testing other rounds to see how they did. But like I said I keep it loaded with federal punch

Damn, did something wrong. Trigger wont go back to forward position on its own now. Edit: If anyone else has this issue (Trigger not moving to the forward position after being pulled and also locking up once pulled forward manually) Check that the spring wound up just above the trigger itself (its obvious to me now that theyre attached) is pressing against the trigger bar. If it is pressing against the chassis, then you will need to wind it back around and set it so that it is pressing (acting in an upward force) against the trigger bar. There, I present to you both the problem and the solution. Much like governments. I have your back ;)

That is a bummer. But you will figure it out. I did that the first time around and it is a pain. Install that first. If I recall I had to do something through the little hole in the back to tension it or something. Just fiddle with it you will get it.

Both of those safeties make this gun safer for everyone. The magazine safety is there to prevent the number one cause of accidental shootings. Quite often someone will remove the magazine, but forget there is a round in the chamber, leaving the opportunity for someone else to assume the gun is safe and pull the trigger to feel what it feels like.....shooting the person next to them. The thumb safety prevents children from shooting each other. Anyone who removes either of these safety devices is an idiot and a hazard to others.
