@@Crazymike00 Eh, Ruger usually builds very high quality stuff. Read the comments from the other guy below. Maybe a different mag will work better? But our opinion is a simple bolt gun that costs over $1,000 new and is advertised as the gun you want to have in a zombie apocalypse should or need the brand new mags swapped out.
I had issues w that same waffle style Ruger mag. The metal ones work flawlessly pmags work flawlessly and the current polymer Ruger mags work flawlessly
Magazine issues must be common for Ruger. I had the same issues with the original ruger american mags. Swapped to the AICS mags and it happens way less but still happens.
Have the same rifle, don’t have a problem feeding the rounds, or seating the magazine properly. Maybe try better ammunition, or lube it all up. Maybe the spring inside the magazine is not oiled up, idk just spitting ideas here. Good luck! Love my Ruger Scout
The Mauser Bolt action is not like newer bolt actions. You have to keep pressure on the bolt the whole time while cycling it. Practice makes perfect. Use brass casings not steel.
That is an exact AICS pattern mag. I’ll be doing the slow bolt test with Ruger steel mags next. But this problem has NEVER existed in my Sig 716 with DPMS pattern pmags, or the steel version. I also don’t see this ever being talked about with the mossberg scout guys…
@@UnderTenReviews i guess every magazine platform is shit because promag makes a mag for each platform. You're using 1 mag from 1 company and compalining about the platform. Ruger plastic mags are dogshit. Just get an mdt steel aics mag or a pmag and stop whining
@@appalachianoperator This rifle lists for $1,200 overall you have nothing more here than a short barrel, bolt action with feeding issues. Ruger had their choice of magazine patterns when creating this package. Mossberg chose wisely with the DPMS pattern Pmag. For a rifle with a price point of over $1k and advertising suggesting this is the only rifle you will ever need we expect better straight out of the box and our honest testing shows other. @@appalachianoperator We will continue to nit pick this bad decision on Rugers part to adopt this magazine “Platform”over the other options. Ruger didn’t learn their lesson with the mini 14 proprietary mag BS, and continued with the this less popular “Platform” Go look what magazine the Mossberg Scout rifle uses 👍
