We got one a few months back. We hit the 500 round mark yesterday. Not one issue with this gun. Easy to clean and very reliable. Good gun for the first timer.
I have two. They spin great. Shoot pretty good, and .22 is cheap to shoot. I practice gun spinning tricks with these because the feel so good on the hand and are perfectly balanced
At 0:33, the reason you saw pointing the gun up to cock the hammer in the old movies is because in the old cowboy days they were using black powder revolvers that required a percussion cap on each chamber, the spent cap sometimes would stick to the hammer and fall into the hammer mechanism jamming the gun, by cocking it while pointing up would prevent that from happening.
Ruger is not gonna put out crap... this is a man that has never owned a Ruger plastic framed pistol in 9/40/45, I will however 100% agree with that being true with everything else Ruger has ever made, they make great guns! Thank you, James, and Thank you, Dr House!
Bought one of these a few months back for my wife. She loves it. These are very high quality for the money and worth the extra hundred bucks compared to the cheaper options.
First gun I ever shot: my grandfather's Colt New Frontier .22 when I was 8 years old (1971). That gun resides in my safe waiting for my 6 year old grandson to get just a bit older.
SA revolvers. Single shot rifles. The relaxed, calm way of shooting and reloading; the stronger focus to make every shot count; it always calms me down. With automatics I sometimes have the tendency to go too fast, too hasty, and therefore too much. Enjoy the old firearms a lot. Greets, T.
Great video Wranglers are a well built fun gun I have 2 of them. Those guns help get the family out to our range more nothing like blasting steel and paper 🎯. I remember back in the late 1980s shooting with my grandparents they had an old .22lr cowboy rig and a lever action .22lr my god how many bricks of ammo went through those guns. I have the Marlin .22lr lever action now and my boy likes it as much as I did .22lr guns are cheap fun that last a lifetime.
An interesting torture test would be to run a mower of those shells, see how the blades hold up. I’ve hit a couple of 12ga. shells at my house hid in the grass and it makes one hell of a noise.
I keep seeing these at gun stores. I dont currently own a revolver but the $199-$219 price tag for fun little 22lr 6 shooter is growing on me. Think it would be fun to piss around with.
I found my single action rim fire revolvers were fun to teach my grandkids patients and to slow down at the range. Plus was good to teach firearm safety because of going slow.
These are popular in PA for trappers to dispatch animals. The single action makes you have to try hard to ND. 22 won't ring your ears like a centerfire either.
Thanks James. I like the concept that a youngster being taught on this handgun has to do something for every shot. I started our late son off on something similar all those years ago.
Dang go figure a single action only has one action 🤣 . I've thought about the ruger wrangler I have a ruger single six it's a blast. Great video maybe I'll add one to the collection. 👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I have to send a brand new birdie back. Suspect too long firing pin which peens chamber tight, right outa box. 2: loaded rounds all drop into cylinder from muzzle end, down to rims and fall back out when cylinder is flipped upright. Try inserting six loaded cartridges in chamber mouths. They should only let bullets enter cylinder, not brass cases. Ruger is sending me a R M A label!
Hey what's up James great revolver.I wanted to see you guys speed shoot it I have a heritage revolver myself with a 10-in barrel and if you hold the trigger down you can mash the Hammer with your other hand and speed shoot just like cowboys used to do...it was one of my first things I wanted to try when I got mine.... I think you should do a review and try out the speed shooting at the targets... shoot from the hip will make you faster....
Those are great little revolvers. I like them for plinking and for defending our chicken coops from raccoons and possums. Also like the Rough riders, but prefer the Ruger Quality.
