I enjoyed Xander's vlog ok but you just do it different. You give us multiple vlogs, broken up in episodes and told like what it is, an outdoor adventure story. This is the best outdoor adventure channel on youtube. Thank you Jim.
This Channel, Jims Channel is like a groove to feeling the earth barefoot and raw 👌🏼 At 40.30 ish keep left and straight over the centre ledge Jim perfect!!
Insane rapids full of boulders! I've never seen anyone run rapids that treacherous. I rafted one of our local rafting routes with little rapids, mostly calm water. The worst thing that happened to us was a bunch of college kids, also in rafts. were mooning everybody. Great adventure for the five of you. All thrill seekers and expert canoeists.
I love these long trips through different rivers and rapids, what a thrill, you and Tim and the Budnick brothers and the other two gentlemen I don't know, what an adventure 👍😀
Haha, that’s right. He did! In this vid, when Ted had a solid run, I was was like “Yaaa” Ted nailed a sweet run!” of something g like that and I showed a zoom in of him. That’s all the love I’m able to mentally conjure, just kidding.
@@JimBairdAdventurer did you ever find out what happened to North on the Algonquin trip? I was just watching Ted's new video which showed him chewing on some old moose bones the night before he became ill, could have been something bacterial
Love it love it guys what a great video the challenge is on too see how many rapids you can run , looks amazing 👏 were you are , the lads are enjoying themselves ok keep them coming , ps Jim hows your family going
What a fun video and trip. The Baird brothers teaching the newbies is great to see. Hope they appreciate that free knowledge they are getting. That is worth its weight in gold!!
For anybody watching Jim Bairds videos for the first time sit back and grab you a sweet tea and some popcorn and get ready to be entertained. This man has skills. Him and his brother Ted are one heck of a team when it comes to canoeing these rivers and lakes. They make you feel like you're right there with them. And when they yell you want to yell right along with them for their accomplishments . When all these guys get together it is one heck of a video. And you will not regret following all these guys on RU-vid. Remember subscribe click like and comment. You won't be able to help yourself you will fall in love with these guys. Go find the video where Jim almost chopped off his hand on a adventure with his brother Ted that one will make your hair grow . Thank you for another awesome video Jim . And no panning for gold this time ?
A really enjoyable epic adventure trip with all the spills and thrills and beautiful scenery in a pretty unknown part of the woods, catching fish, glimpses of local wild life was a bonus and when the duck abandoned their eggs, all I could think was missing a nice big omelette 😅
Awesome Adventure with the guys!!! Also a beautiful, beautiful adventure...omgsh the waters were simply magnificent...i Love the adventure of it all but, i also go along for the scenic beauty. Great one Jim.
Oh my what a great adventure with all of you this is epic what a treat history in the making this is amazing seeing you all together beyond words take care dear one's ❤
Another top drawer adventure and excellent video by the great Jim Baird! Brought me joy again and again as usual. How do you select/curate the music for your videos? Always been curious about that, Jim.
JIMBO this is so COOL !!! Love spot where you see the Moose BABY I love those Babies !!! Also the camp fires & singing keep on Singing KIDDO !!! I made tacos again tonight !!!
Excellent video as always Jim. Keep singing your tunes, I loved the way you opened with one. They add a comically light tone to the anticipation of your wickedly wild and scary adventures. Looking forward to your next trip and FYI, I might be writing a little jingle for one of your up coming trips. LOL
Can I just say how funny I thought it was that in a van full of RU-vidrs, there was not a single person who had their camera out when you saw the lynx 😂😂😂
I didn't hear Ted say anything until 44 minutes into it. For a moment I thought he was maybe in a bad mood, but I soon thought differently - Ted? In a bad mood? Nah!
Have you ever paddled the Saugeen River in SW Ontario? It’s my home river I grew up on. Used to paddle it from Walkerton all the way out to our acreage by Paisley. This was such a great episode!! Keep up the great work Jim!
Soo I'm native and my friend from kindergarten is native both from the same small nwt community, so we were out on the Liard river going upriver from the confluence of the Liard river and mighty McKenzie river to the small northern community of Jean Marie . And it being mid fall it got dark at night really frigging dark out on the river so we left late and were at an old native fish camp because while on the river in the blackness of night we came within a couple metres of a river buoy and on the river there about 15ft and made of concrete and steel and hitting one broadside would flip us and Eiger of these rivers are so vaste that even if your wearing a pfd you will drown because of the mighty undercurrents which would just pull you under life jacket and all and the river is deep, put it tHis was right off the government dock in Norman wells nwt the river goes straight down 90 metres and it's edge is maybe 25 ft from shore the river there is about two miles or more across. Anyways once on shore were standing around and have wood and materials ready for a fire and I say to Glenn show me how a real Indian (I'm adopted into a white family) starts a fire he looks across at me and squints at me and nods and goes to his 25 ft river boat and comes back holding a can and throws the contents on the wood then throws a match into the gasoline soaked wood. Haha so later that night im sleeping on a picnic table and suddenly wake up and sit up and say what's wrong and Glenn says there's something stalking us and we have a seriously huge fire going 20-25 ft flames and then I hear it there's something just beyond the firelite circling our fire! Being northerners of course we're armed we have a 22. Cal Ruger rifle and a 30-30 Winchester rifle and Glenn fires a round what we think is high enough and whatever it is runs off and it sounded two legged then it comes back and as night ended and the sun was lighting up the eastern sky whatever it was just silently disappeared. Two legged..........
TRUE STORY: When I had finished watching this exciting episode, my Flintstones pajamas were soaking wet, and there were claw marks, and tears in my sofa cushions !!! Re: the singing, MORE COWBELL please !!!
No, your not their ginny pig, Jim. You are their trusted leader. Who has the best experience in running rapids. They watch how you run a rapid and then know how to. You are respected. 😊
Anyone else notice how bad RU-vid bungled this upload? Jim's all pixelated in 1080! All of his hard work went into this it's pretty disrespectful of RU-vid to show us a downgraded version of it. You can see it when Jim's walking with the camera and there's a lot of motion, big square pixelated blocks, there's no way they were in the original. RU-vid always does that.
The Blue Steel is not a whitewater canoe. It can take some lumps but it’s not meant for anyone over class 1 and some less bouldery class 2s. This one is Royalex, way more durable but yup, heavy!
Dude, love watching vids but the rapid at 29 min is no way near C4. In fact, at 30:29 you say “no real risk of injury” further reducing the classification to maybe a 2+ / 3. Dude, you live the life I’d like to live on these adventures. No need to embellish man. I’m speaking with love. I love your authenticity so need to “heighten the danger” for viewers who maybe don’t paddle. Namaste’ 🙏🕉
Okay lol, def not a clad 2-3 but for sure a class 3. I realized that after I ran it. I said class 4 before I ran it. I was not trying to embellish. But the international ratings scale has its limitations, especially we found on this river at these levels.
Triple drop is for sure a 3. Xander saved his run but if you're not careful it spits you RL and there's a good pin hazard present. If you dump on the first drop it's not gonna be a fun swim....
@@JimBairdAdventurer appreciate your honesty. We’ve never met but you seem pretty transparent & authentic. Some of those rapids w/lefts n rights n drops n ledges were pretty dope n def 2-3. And, yeah, international is way diff then US or GC. I raft (small narrow AIRE Sabertooth) quite a bit but learning to row so hoping I can replicate some of your routes in next couple years. Much love & many blessings 🙏🕉
@@ExploreTheBackcountry I read that Xander also filmed this adventure. Do you happen to have link or name? I’ll go scroll n a minute. Any pin / entrapment risk def kicks up rating. I hope my tone was not dickish and if so I apologize. Was just hoping to have a discussion on the rapids. But you guys in canoes definitely up the ante. I’m “safe n cozy” R2’ing my cat lol
