Why bother fighting about ships, they're all terrible and historically offensive in some way

in the last one.. Swissy turned into one of those anime dudes who watch those "onii-chan" animes

The nature of the characters representing countries (and furthermore, everyone seeming to be at least distantly related) means it's nearly impossible to avoid weird implications unless you ship pairings with little to no canon or irl backing. The most popular ship in the fandom is rooted in an alliance between two fascist states ffs. That's why this seems to be the fandom where ship bashing seems both the most prevalent and the most pointless. (This is not directed towards HetaFacts, ofc, I'm just talking about the fandom in general)

Man most of these ships have pedo energy or are a constant fight fest.

In regards to Ameripan, I feel the need to elaborate on Japan's age. I find that a lot of people do not seem to grasp just how old Japan is. Also note I am about to really roast my otp. Japan does not have a stated age, however there is a lot of content to indicate that Japan is much older than America mentally and physically. He talks about how old he feels many times throughout the series. He talks about how he looks younger than he actually is. He talks about having high blood pressure that makes him wake up early and go for morning walks. He has hip pains. The comic where America invites Japan to his Christmas party talks about how America sees Japan as older and wiser than him. He sees Japan as someone who can help him out of bad situations. Japan's patience is reminiscent of a man who has lived many years and as a result isn't phased by much. Granted it does seem to be the case that he is predisposed to this temperament. The fact his age is described as a secret, might also be another indicator of Japan's age. How often do older people evade answering the question of how old they are? If we found out Japan was like physically 35 or older, I would not be shocked. America meanwhile is barely legal 19. He's a freshmen college student. While he may be an adult in his own country, in Japan he isn't one. the Legal age of adulthood in Japan is 20. This is changing to be 18 like it is in the west. America is old enough to do the devils tango in Japan and a lot of other things. But the traditional legal age is 20. So America would be perceived as being more of a child. Going after Japan's natural age may seem like a cheap shot. Everyone is older than America lol. However one should consider the fact that during Japan's 250 hikkiomori phase America went from a fetus to being some where in his teen years by the time of the Perry expedition. I love Ameripan, it is my otp, but of all of the popular and semi popular ships in Hetalia, Ameripan is probably the one with the most egregious age gap. Japan isn't just a cougar in this relationship. He is a bit of a sugar daddy. And yes peer pressure is a problem in this relationship. While Japan isn't completely spineless, its pretty clear he has a problem saying no to America. Especially when it comes to politics. He can't say no when America forces him to open up. He doesn't say no to America's ridiculous ideas at world meetings. I suppose being the junior partner in an alliance with a superpower does that.

The whole concept shipping of countries is a little bit weird for me (I know we are shipping characters but what we are shipping exactly population , pieces of land or what)

Also i wasnt expecting AmeCan everyone always forgets about that ship, but since Canada said they were more than brothers in the manga...

Ruining my OTP is as easy as opening a history book. Once you know history, you can butcher your pairing as you please, but at the same time can't stop manipulate them to come together. Ruining pairing in your way sounds like you've never seen Angst in a relationship before.

Literally ship wars over how problematic ships are are pointless in hetalia. All you have to do is look at the last two hundred years of imperialism and wars and every ship(and character) is automatically problematic.

I'm a multishipper and this fandom is like the easiest one to ship problematic ships in. In fact, it's the only fandom that i actively ship an incest ship in. Every ship can be justified, every ship can be problematic, so just read what you like, draw what you like, and try not to start shipwars.

The thing that make me laugh the most is the voice you make of every characters

This is why I rarely ship lol. Well I ship less for the sake of it and more for narrative purposes. A lot of the very few “ships” I have are pretty unhealthy and I know this, they’re a dysfunctional couple. Even for those I actually kind of ship that can be the case. I consider myself a Ancient Rome x Ancient Greece shipper, but even then I write them as seeing each other in this sort of patronizing, let’s just say complicated way. But honestly I hate shipping culture in Hetalia so much. Also you went so easy on TurkGre lol.

Germany might not have needed a new body to be "reborn" as a new country (because there was HRE's), but he has not retained HRE's memories (except for a tiny part as we can see in Buon San Valentino), he has a different personality and accent and Italy doesn't seem to recognise Germany as his childhood love (pretends not to?). I hope this makes sense (GerIta is my OTP but the part about HRE is really confusing)
