Be careful what you wish for or you might just get it. If he did it there and then it would have complicated things massively. His head downstairs might be into it, but his head upstairs would keep telling him he needs to get with Chizuru instead. In the end any experience, development or fun would be soured over by the fact he would have essentially used her to get some. The expectations in that scenario are different. Ruka wants a relationship while he doesn't.

To top it all off Kazuya can't keep his composure around chicks, can't be 100% with his decisions, and not only that he's the main character so that means we have to see hold L after L after L and after L after L. Say what you want about mani being the most hated character in this anime because sick, twisted traits and manipulation but I'm gonna give that title to Kazuya simply because this dude has no logical thinking and just borderline incompetent to the point he's unbearable.

Honestly, I'd write one where she finally realises how pathetic he is and just cucks Kazuya and I say that as someone who loathes NTR with every fibre of my being, but who knows he may be into that with how he fantasizes about Chizuru. Kazuya is a dogshit character. He has one moment of actual character growth in the entire series. Granted, it’s a VERY GOOD moment, legitimately one of the best I’ve seen, but that’s it. And he immediately loses all that growth the next chapter. Really sad to see. The pacing snd characters are dogshit (outside of Kibe and the Axolotl) Ruka’s terrible as well. Great basis for a character, worst possible execution. She’s so fucking bad. Hopefully as this season goes on people accept more that she’s awful.
