Much love. Let's not do that era stuff Fam. I came up in the 90's but there are Artists today that keep hip-hop alive (Jcole and Dreamville for example). Real rap will never die, it doesn't matter what the industry is trying to do with mumbe rap, drill, the real will prevail.
@MentalStillness YOU DONT HAVE A SAY IN WHATS DONE OR NOT DONE,,,,JUST SIMPLY MAKE YOUR COMMENT & KEEP THAT OTHER 💩💩💩 TO YOURSELF,,,,FAM!!!!! MY ERA IS UNDEFEATED!!!!!!🎤🎤🎤🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯🤎🤎🤎
Hey man.. I’m 53 years old and can’t stop smiling at how dope this is! Run DMC is showing why they kicked down the hip hop doors and made it all possible for everyone else to follow ! They are hip hop’s greatest group of all time! Even the other superstar rappers are in awe of the Kings from Queens! 🔥💯
Legendary!!! These kids today will never understand the impact Run DMC had on the culture. They truly paved the way for so many artists and Hip Hop as a whole. I wish I could've been there so bad! Dope!
Rock the Bells festival is the best festival that I have seen. No naked azz shaking. All lyricists with straight bars from the females to the males 🔥 🔥
Man I have never felt so part of a youtube recorded concert before in my life im in the house like this was live my time. These songs were the soundtrack to my life an I appreciated every minute of it. 50 YEARS OF HIP HOP for me meant 50 years of life. REST IN PEACE to alot of the hip hop MC's that did'nt get to perform here but they spirit was most definitely in the house. THIS WAS HUGE
I was there in row 8. It was a fantastic show. Just realized how good DMC sounds as well, great his voice seems to be normal again. Thank u for the recording. Best part was when they tackled the guy who ran on stage and both Run and DMC goes "dont hurt him! Dont beat him up!" Also RUN not wanting to leave the stage lol. I'm 22 and would never of thought id see them on stage.
Run DMC is what took Rap to being world wide accepted!!! They were the New School in 83!!! They shot off like a rocket ! I got my first run DMC Single It’s like that and Sucka MC’s at an uncle Jams Army event at L.A. Sports Arena 1983 they were throwin them out! It was Profile records with the red jacket!!!

Thank you for putting this up. That's my fav group. Wish I could've been there. I saw them so many times from the beginning. People really don't know that these dudes put Hip Hop on the global map. The last time I saw them was at some small club in Manhattan. I saw an ad in the Village Voice by accident and it just so happened that they were performing that nite. I was close to the club so I went and bought a ticket. It was small. There were maybe 200 people. I thought this was a joke. But sure enough they came out and crushed it. Afterwards, I was talking to Jay as he was breaking down his equipment. He was cool. I helped him carry crates to his car. That would be the last time I'd see them together. He was killed shortly thereafter. I lived a block from Def Jam in Worldwide Plaza. About a yr later, I passed DMC coming out the building. I gave him my condolences and told him to please get back out there. I'm happy to see them still doing this.
The first time I ever performed I performed a Run DMC medley with two classmates for a school program. Probably 1987-88. Haven't thought about that in years and it's not until right now that I'm typing this that I realize how influential they were to my life. Became an MC a few years later at 12yrs old and was consumed by it for the next 20 years. I still dabble a litte bit to this day and it all started with Run DMC.
I would like to say to whoever did this THANK YOU SO MUCH ! Sitting here with tears I L OVE RUN DMC ! JAM MASTER JAY WE LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU BIG BRO ! I KNOW YOUR GREAT ! ( R I L ) Rest In Love
I'm just glad to see that on their final tour, Run still had the same bravado and balls that he did when he was younger. I'm 37 years old and I remember Krush Groove and Tougher Than Leather. These dudes were those dudes even way back when. They dominated and didn't care who they offended. That was what hip-hop was to me as a kid. Happy 50th, hip-hop.
My favorite group of all time, JMJ is the reason I started deejaying. I went to every Fresh Fest when that came to the Omni in Atlanta,I’m so glad they came back together to perform and included JMJ’s kids. I will be front row if they come back to Atlanta.
Certified Legends and Leaders of not only hip hop but the whole black community in the 80’s this was the blueprint top shelf as good as it get rap….they one of the true few who ADVANCED hip hop without copying…OGs
Run DMC is hands down the NUMBER 1 Rap Group in Hip Hop history. Period!!!!! To see them rock the stage at this time in their lives PROVES they are NUMBER ONE!!!! Hip Hop forever!!!!
I’m so glad their back out there. Rest in Power to JMJ!!!! I’m 52 years old now. All I’m gonna say is 1985 Riverfront Coliseum Cincinnati Ohio….. The first ever Fresh Festival!!!! Run DMC we’re the headliners… Rip to JMJ, Ecstasy, Ozone, Buffie and Prince Markee Dee and anyone else out of that lineup that I missed. First & Best Rap Show Ever!!!!! But Run - DMC on another level
This REALLY makes me smile from ear to ear! The fact that we're all witnessing them performing on stage again (with Jam Master Jay murdered & D lost his voice....) is just absolutely fantastic to see!! And BOTH Run & D sounded GREAT!! I truly didn't think they was gonna ever performed again. Run DMC was & STILL IS.....the Kings of Rock of Hip Hop!! 💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥🔥👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🎉🎉🎉🎉
The only thing hotter than the summer heat was when 'sucker MC's' came out and cold smashed it! This put RUN DMC on the map forever as the God Father's. Worked with them once and up until that point worked with many amazing celebrities but I was literally awe struck. Talked to them and they were regular around the way brother's. Quiet, unassuming, polite, respectful and that just took it to another level of awe. It's a tough business and yet they were humble and real comfortable with themselves. RIP Jam Master Jay was what you would imagine the brother who is in the mix.
IM SO PROUD AND BLESSED TO BE FROM THIS ERA. MY HUBBY WAS FROM QUEENS...MYSELF THE BOOGIE DOWN...I WAS JUST WATCHING 'KRUSH GROOVE' THE OTHER NITE...YESSIR...REAL TALK!!!
That was so outta body! I'm 57 the same age as these brothas.. I saw them in concert many times back during the "Fresh Festivals" of the 80s. You don't know how great it is to see them rockin the mic and performing with this much energy in 2023.
I saw them perform at the 50th anniversary of HipHop at Yankee on August 11th. IT WAS AMAZING. Never thought I’d see them live… it was their last performance. As a true hiphop fan since a young kid, it was epic and I’ll never forget it
Great video , thanks. DMC sounding good, looking great. RUN sounding great and ain't lost a step. Salute. RIP JMJ. Shout-out Chuck Chill out. And security on point. 🙏 AsickStaysickAlwaysick
this is the greatest live performers I've ever seen to this...takes me back to the 80's when I was a kid at Freshfest 85 ...love these Kings...JMJ 4EVER 🙏🏼😎🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤
Amazing show... Queens representing HIP HOP for all corners of the World to 'da fullest baby. No boundaries! I remember when Jam Master Jay got... I was in Queens at the time... Funk Master Flex was Heated🔥 Mad fuming when announcing the incident on Hot 97. the World was in disarray. It would a been a Great Honor to use JMJ's sons to DJ for this 50st Anniversary HIP HOP show! 👊
THESE DEFINITELY WERE THE DAYS … NOTHING CAN EVER COMPARE NOTHING WILL EVER WILL BE AS FREE AS OUR GENERATION IN THIS MOMENT OF TIME . IM 54 NOW AND DEFINITELY ENJOYED THIS 🙏🏽🙏🏽👍🏽👍🏽💯💯💪🏽💪🏽🏆⭐️🔥🔥😎
Man wish I could see them LIVE one more time.....They had me believing I was going to be a rapper back then...LOL... This takes me back to 1986, San Antonio, Texas. RAISING HELL TOUR....LL, Whodini, RUN DMC and JAM MASTER JAY....The BEASTIE BOYS!! and if you showed up on time (early), you got to see TIMEX SOCIAL CLUB performing the extended version of "RUMORS"!! Hard times...spreading just like the flu....WHAT!!!
I was there at the Dallas show. I didn't get there in time to see the Timex Social Club and the Beastie Boys weren't on the ticket, but the Raising Hell tour remains one of rap's greatest shows. Run DMC gave probably the best rap performance I've ever seen.
@@guesswho217 Man!! Yeah, the shows mix-up who performs...We got the Beastie Boys and Whodini in San Antonio!! You're right, it was a great show....and still remains that!
For the young and upcoming rappers yet to be discovered, if want to learn the concept of "flow," listen closely as the rhymes are delivered by this duo as "Down With the King" is performed.
