While I absolutely love all the big builds, the 1500hp sleepers beating on GTRs, the Audi/VW museum stuff..... it's truly THESE kind of videos that keep me coming back! The cheap builds. The nonsense races. The hanging out in Baja, or trying Euro snacks. Ad to that the hype of Zac, Gary, and Brad and you could sell sand in the Sahara. Thank you for the years of smiles ❤
As a Ex VW owner... yes... it's always something with the older VWs. If my head wasn't in the engine compartment of my old 73 Beetle it's because it was very broken.
Oh no that’s a gas car, he prob has all of 78hp. Unless he put a big valve head on a 2.0l bottom end. Then he would be screaming along with maybe 110hp? The 52hp motor is the non turbo diesel.

Soooo ya, I do know a lot about them. I’ve also worked as a classic car restore, specifically with classic corvette race cars. We would rebuild them and restore them to match their original configuration to be able race in the historic racing series’s. @@kw2519 46hp for the diesel. My dad had one. It couldn't make it up my cousins driveway. My aunt had the one scotto has. it was WAY faster and could get up the driveway haha.
For the next Hoonigan staff race you should take the slowest vs fastest car. The slow one gets to start at the 500ft flag. Then see if the fastest can catch them by the 1000ft flag.
This was definitely one of the races. And now I wanna see a build series on squeezing all the horsepower out of that V10 in the RV, culminating in a drag race against one of Scotto's Audis.

My dad bought 2 Rabbit's when we were growing up. One was A gas engine and the other was diesel. They were in a condition that made the deal like buy one get one free for maybe $300-$400, and they could almost drive across the country on a tank of fuel....with top speed of 45mph, depending on how many people were stuffed in those beer cans 😂. Always loved the Rabbit's though ❤🤘
This is great! I had a baby blue 1979 VW Rabbit. It was the first manual tranny I ever really figured out how to drive. That thing literally screamed when I was on the highway in fourth gear going 60 mph. And I have a tip to clean the leaves out of the vents...just slide the fan speed and vent selection levers towards each other...the leaves blow right up out of the defrost vents and onto you! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Oh man the memories of growing up with both my parents having diesel Rabbits and a hand pump 200 gallon tank at the end of the driveway with undyed fuel. Towed and launched the boat with that thing and a lot of blue smoke
