Part 1 of my I/O Conversion. In this video I will be transplanting a 2 stroke 150hp Mercury XP outboard in place of the old OMC I/O with Volvo leg. We will be cutting the transom of the boat out so that the outboard can be mounted to the back of the runabout boat.

Cool, we converted a Pursuit I/O to an outboard, we haven't made a video on it yet. Sweet project though, I subbed and liked! You are soo close to that 1,000 Subs! Keep going!

I am curious on how low in the water that transom will be. Are you making a well around the motor so the water doesn't come in. It seems so low.

Thanks for the comment bigair. Yes Part two will be finishing off the interior which will entail making a well for the water that may make it past the engine.

A follwing wave would swamp that job and you other one. Hobby horsing? hahaha Correect term would be porpoising, but then you dont seam to have a clue? And if you would like me to post what you tried to post on my conversion back here i could, Then all can see you were trying to get views for this? Trash talking the job i done? hahah I wnat to see your boats at sea?

hey, remeber trying to trash talk my conversion i did 10 yrs ago. Well the offset i used for the pod is mathematically worked out, it reduces drag on the prop, get the boat on the plane quicker than that would by far, can handle large swells at easy and also any follwing waves, was also very efficient. reduced fuel cost and improved the boat speed/ Oh and mine was a 22ft not a toy 16ft. Your finished product has not been shown on the water and happen to look like a POPE mobile. ;P Just saying. You stick to your wood/cabinet making, leave the hydrodynamics to me. At least mine was shown at sea aafter the finished product. ;P

lordlugworm worst thing he ever did was cut open a closed transom. More boats sink every year due to open transoms going offshore and taking a wave from the back and flooding the boat. Your bracket came out great, looked good and worked. Good job.
