I found this Runakuna cassette and I just wanted to share this beautiful Music from the Andes. I don't know anything of the years or place were it was recorded and I do not own any copyright.
I had this tape that I bought-they were in the NYC Subway playing, I was late getting home for like 4 hours because I could NOT drag myself away from the music. Took my last $ to get the tape too. Took the tape overseas when I moved, then back again, but it got ruined in the move...I dearly LOVE LOVE LOVE this music! Thanks so much for posting this!
Literally about to cry, saw these guys when I was a kid. I had the tape too it got wrecked over time. Been trying to find them forever. Nicest bunch I ever met and I have so much stuff the grandmother made that my parents bought me. Almost 26 years later and I haven’t forgotten them and been dying to see them again.

In the late 90's I had the privilege to listen the public live performance of this Equatorian Runakuna Group, at the Times Square Subway space in NYC. I was so impressed by the quality of this Group that I purchased this very tape from them, which I still listen from time to time! Lovely. Thanks!
I saw them in San Jose, Costa Rica in 1993. Had the tape for many years, and I’ve been looking for their music for a long, long time since I lost the cassette. I’m so glad to have found this on RU-vid!
Ha...i have this tape...bought downtown Chicago maybe June 1989.....as poor student, i got it in broken cassette holder for half price.I did not care....as long as the tape played the music... still have it. Lovely stuff...
I also got it in Chicago around then. I was just mentioning it in an e-mail to a friend and looked - and found it here! Amazing. And I'm also amazed to learn from these comments that they've travelled the world, and that the music exists on CD.

I used to have this album many moons, many moons ago and have seen the public live performance when they had special performances in the Albuquerque Tri- State fair and I have been looking for this album since mine got ruined. Scouring the Internet forever, but to no avail because all I could remember was the music but not the name of the album. Though I don't speak the language it is beautiful. Thank you thank you.
My dad passed by them in the Antwerp city center where they were playing in the street. He bought this very same recording but on a cd. I hope I can still find it somewhere. Pure childhood nostalgia for me.

Son muy buenos estos temas recuerdos ,,,lo único que tengo duda es cual son los originales por así decirlo ,,porque también lo hee escuchado y se lo ve que RUNA LLACTA también tiene los mismos temas ,,,alguien de pronto sabe y conoce la realidad por así decirlo ,!!????
LOL, I recently payed about 25 bucks on eBay just to get this cassette back in my possession! I first listened to this when I was maybe 6 years old and instantly fell in love... for me personally, no other pan flute music from any other group has ever been able to Hit like this cassette. For years I've chased, searching, but never really found anything as satisfying as this group's performances.......On a side note, it would be awesome if an audio engineer were able to take this and cleanup the sound if possible....or a remaster would be the dopest if the original recordings could be found 😄
I discovered them playing in Piazza Navona back in '91. I have the video camera taping them. The music brought me to tears. I came acros the cassette tape I bought from them. "Music from the Andes" Face A De Tus Brazos, Tu Sola, La Fiesta, Zona Roja, Por Una Cholita , Churai-Churai, Face B Tuparic, Rosa Elena, Morenita, Panuelo Blanco, Hoy Venimos a Cantar, Cushilla I don't have a cassette player any longer but will hopefully find these songs somewhere on the internet. thanks for posting... still so sweet and beautiful sounding to my ears
I saw these guys twice in Connecticut in the mid-late 90's playing at a street festival, I think in Bridgeport.Amazing live performers. The second time I saw them I even talked and hung out with them for awhile, and they were some of the coolest people I ever met.
I saw them on a street corner in Philadelphia. I heard the pan flutes from about 2 blocks away - just followed the mesmerizing sound til I found them. They made my day!
Really good music. May I ask what kind of hardware you used to digitalize your cassette? I uploaded one old audio tape as well, but have problems with recording it to mp3.
@Yuyari Cachimuel Si, tienes racon. Se oye bien similar, pero no es l mismo. Conosco Runakuna yo. Los encuentraba en Warsow, Poland en otono 1993. Una tarde inolvidable. Todavia tengo mis 2 cassettes de ellos. Precioso. Pienso qué el origen de estos canciones es e grupo LLAQTAYMANTA. Se encuntra tambien en youtube. Saludos cordiales de Frankfurt W.S.
