International 966 while being worked on went runaway and tried to eat itself! #farmandranch #farm #farmlifebestlife #farmliving #farmlife #ranching #haying
I worried about it for sure but the fuel pepcock wasn’t turning fast enough. If the sound of the engine had changed at all I was ready to meep meep on out for sure.
That's the testament of the a good IH engine. When I grew up they would take the 1066 and just turn up the fuel for tractor pulling and then turn back down and go to the field.
Sounded amazing, well past 2750 rpm.... weeellll past that it sounded like! Glad a valve didnt stick and have some contact with piston haha! It ought to be loosend up now though!
M100's are notorious for that. If been sitting.. any one that knows em. Should have had the intake tube off. Before. Even attempting ... w a cover to snuff it out. 400 series motors are pretty darn tough.
Well she started all wright man 😂😂😂😂😂 she just loved that teether ha ha, it'll be fine nice humm out of it the governor is probably stuck open in the top of the injector pump or the spring is in the wrong holes good show though ha ha👍
It was a oh $h!t moment lol i wanted to get close up to it while i turned off the fuel but realized it wasn’t the best place and time to be messing with a camera. So I’ll have to fix that next time… lol
You live life kind of risky, when you start a tractor like that! If that tranny would have some shift linkage or internal wear that engine would not have even grunted as it went over your body! Would be a pretty good idea to have more than one way to shut it down! After working at a dealership and hearing of a customer jumping at the starter and then getting run over by tractor and disc! Those things tend to make you think about how you approach things! When I work at the dealer if I seen a jumpered clutch safety switch it got replaced! Never had a upset customer for doing it!
Call it a brain glitch part of me said get the camera to get a close up and the other realized that it was dangerous and I needed to hurry. It happens lol
On a non turbo diesel it’s usually the governor being hung open as in my tractors case and in a turbo it can be the governor like mine or if the turbo begins leaking oil it can feed the engine through the turbo causing it to need the air blocked to kill it where I was just able to kill the fuel.
