Tome of frost negates desert heat doesn't it?

It does not fully negate it, however if you have it bring it. It reduces the desert heat damage significantly. You probably don’t need water skins with it, but bring a small amount of food Incase you want to stay out there for a while and cannot regenerate health as fast as you take damage.
