Isn't the derivative of 2*e^(t) - t -1 = 2*e^(t) - 1 = y - 1? Howcome it's the exact solution to y' = t + y

If y = 2e^t - t - 1, then y' = 2e^t - 1. t + y = 2e^t - 1, so it checks out.
