I’m glad I’m not alone in my feelings about the Hanged Man. That was a pretty big disappointment for me but it is a beautiful deck. Having worked with it more I don’t think it is enough on its own for learning the runes but if you have another book or resource to pair it with it can be a nice additional resource. Many of the runes in the deck are actually bindrunes so it probably won’t be helpful to a beginner to runes. Make sure you read the guidebook.

If you want to learn the runes I would first look up some youtube channels on their history, intent and how they were used. Its a pretty murky subject and its best to get your footing on what you use them for and believe. Personally, I really enjoy picking runes for divination but know many of the meanings may be more modern interpretations.

Its not that deep

I can’t shuffle overhand; my hands are very small and the cards just fall all over the floor. People shuffle whatever way works best for them. You are not the Tarot pope and you don’t tell anyone else how to do anything. I have seen one person fling the cards in the air and catch whichever ones are to be read. So lay off.

People can shuffle their cards how they want to, it’s not that serious and many experienced practitioners poker shuffle including I. I cast my runes aggressively as well. If you don’t do it that’s fine, but don’t gatekeep how people shuffle. Besides shuffling overhand you can chip your cards as well it’s going to happen either way. It’s not disrespectful it’s one’s comfortable style of reading.

@@eyeofazure I don’t mind a deck having different artwork. The issue I have with some decks, are that they have no real meaning and look at bit flimsy in it content, or take out the depth of spirituality that the cards should show. For example I watched a video on DC comic Tarot. The chariot had the Flash, and that’s it. The traditional tarot shows a man holding the reigns, with two horses. Some cards show the horses looking in opposite directions. It’s meaning is the Charioteer needs to have a control over the two horses that want to take different directions. On a drawing level, it could of been drawn with the bat mobile with a head lamp of two horses on the front of the vehicle. It could of been drawn to show connecting symbols, have meaning. Sometimes I think some of these tarot decks are meaningless, designed to be fashionable or artsy. I really need content creators to call it out, instead of promoting rubbish. Also these cards that show just girl drawings, cut out the masculine energy that is in everything, everywhere. The spiritual does not see man or woman, it basically dresses up in these forms to give us a message. Unfortunately you still need a man to make babies, and like the charioteer you need purpose. The Flash, as a card, utter nonsense.

It is a white bear (regular bear in Europe but is white) not a polar bear which is a common symbol in northern mythology.
