I was always taught remove the negative first because if you touch another metal it wouldn’t spark since it’s just completing the ground, vs disconnecting positive first if you accidentally hit metal it could spark.
You're correct. When removing battery disconnect negative first, when installing battery connect positive first. That way, like you said, if you accidentally bump the wrench against the body while tightening positive, there's no ground to create a short.
I am LOVING the extra content you're putting out now! I didn't realize the 2500's came with hydra-boost. Are they all like that, or is that an HD thing? You may have lost about 5 bucks of fuel on the floor LOL, but yes, you're definitely going to make far more that your 1k back. I'll bet you get all the parts you need, and still recover most, if not all your initial investment. Not from that drivers seat though lol. Thank you! As far as I know all the 2500's and heavier came with hydraboost master cylinders. I'm pretty sure all the 1500HD's came with hydraboost also. That gas was so bad it didn't even evaporate! I had to mop it up with rags and old t-shirts to get it off the floor lol. Good weekend so far, lots of cleaning of parts going on over here, not the most fun but necessary for a nice finished product.
Yes that can be done, BUT in my experience, if a truck did not have power windows from the factory, it doesn't have the wiring in the dash to support power windows and locks.

You have to run you own power wires and then jump a wire b13 or something like thay from the BCM to the driver door then swap the BCM form a power window rig over do the BCM relearn and now you have power windows locks and keyless also if you have the right switches power mirrors.
I had the same thought, seems like almost all the arrival blue trucks are beat to hell. I really like it too, would love to get my hands on a single cab short bed in Arrival Blue.

Just can't win, down south the trucks aren't rusty but the sun bakes the interiors and clearcoat off of them, up here the interiors are excellent but they rust away to nothing. lol
