Legit though, put this on an American talent show and you'd have half the middle aged wine mums in the audience raging on Facebook about how it's 'not music' and 'satanic'. It's such a shame.
Holy crap, I never would have thought I'd see Deadsong on a show like this! I might actually watch the Voice again if America would get some contestants like this. And major kudos to the backing band, they nailed all those songs.
WOW , what a voice. Run to the hills (metalwise). But his copy of Careless Whisper was stunningly done with that Metal flair to it and that last note that just went on and on, Just wow, should have taken it . Nice to see Metal going to the finals . Well Done Paavo, well done!
Comparing his beginnings to later performances, it's clear he gained skill and confidence during the competition. That's awesome! I wish The Voice America would allow metal.
That's what I thought exactly. His fist performance was cool but a little shaky still. But holy moly did his voice develop. Amazing range in his voice. Clean vocals as well as harder vocals.
@@zerikafox1595 Definitely! Really cool to see that a metal voice could make it this far in a how like this. But hey that's Finnland for you lol. I would already be living there if I had ever mastered the language
The best thing about Paavo's story is that he looks like he might be the new lead singer for Before the Dawn. He's already recorded "Downhearted" with the band.
W. A. S. P. ! DIO! š³ Fantastic voice! In Germany, the jurors are getting braver, but the metal singers usually don't get far. Too many spectators with radio-suitable music taste. The bands would have to stand in line to get him, his voice is so changeable.
Completely wrote him off after that first audition, however you can clearly see the unbelievable improvement in his vocals after some professional training. Hope he goes far
What a voice. That's why I f**** love Finland. They live fĆ¼r metal, and singing metal songs can really get you through all stages. But also the band, so awesome. Anyone noticed the bass playing on Run to the hills. Wow, simply wow
You would never see this on The Voice (U.S.) b/c rock is not seen as being popular enough to make a television competition. I love that other countries support a variety of artists not just pop! š¤š¤š»
Finnish The Voice has the #1 band in the world (of the Voice) and woah, that Deadsong version was way better than the original! Thanks Finland! Every performance by this guy is awesome!
This type of music may not be everyoneās cup of tea (it most certainly is mine btw), but anyone who loves musical and vocal capability must surely appreciate Paavoās impressive range and talent!! Heās clean and precise when the vocals call for it, still adding a unique flair to each song, then can switch in a millisecond to a ferocious, guttural growl, a la Corey Taylor and Tatiana Shmayluk! I just wish the judges would not default to the nausea-inducing devil horns, when they clearly simply are not in to the genre.
@@aloysiuswhiteboat2934 everyone knows the history of the horns, but you can easily tell when theyre being thrown by someone who's into metal vs someone who's never heard anything heavier than immigrant song
His Deadsong cover was fucking exemplary at showing his range. His actual singing at the start took me by surprise then his growlingā¦ oh my days š„š„
I wasnāt too impressed with Master Exploder, he had the range but it lacked some finesse and I didnāt really like the tones on the lower notes. But he really impressed me with some of the later songs
I honestly feel like metal music have an appreciation for all music regardless of genre. Have heard set lists with a random Johnny Cash song thrown in here or there. Disney covers. I love vibing at a show and the band starts playing a song that you know you've heard but can't quite put your finger on. Then you realize that it's a Bob Seager cover
i fucking love this i wish America Had the damn balls to air something like this. to show of the true talent of up and coming metal singers don't get enough credit
I have never watched a single episode of the American Voice because it's all pop songs, which I like some pop here and there, but my lord I wish it had acts like this. The guitarist on the fire stage blew my mind! You don't see that kinda thing here in the states. Incredible! Also, that studio band deserves a huge round of applause!
metalhead in my heart. ā¤ā¤ Paavo, if someone starts their performances in The Voice with Tenacious D songs, they already deserve my respect. point And let's all remember that this type of repertoire in The Voice is currently only possible in Scandinavia
I just found out that this guy was selected to be the vocalist of a band I've loved always so much but parted ways in 2013, Before the Dawn. I came to see this before even actually hearing him with the band and I have to say I already love him. what a powerful voice this dude has, and an incredible arsenal of diferent registers. I wish him all the best.
I lived for 6 months in a small place called pƤlkƤne in Finland and a few months in Tampere and Helsinki and man do I still miss it. Im Australian but felt at home in Finland. I'll swim back one day if I have to.
What a talented guy he is and that voicerange is insane!!!! I wish him all the luck in the world to do a career he deserve! I donĀ“t like these shows, but when it comes to metal and such talent my heart yells YESSS!!!! Because metal was my first love and it will be my last!
