Running Air Conditioning off a Solar Power Station?! - Bluetti AC200 test on 4x4 Sprinter Van

You can get a 12,000 btu mini split AC unit that pulls 600 watts on high or 400 on low and run it off 700 watts of solar.

When he first plugged the RV into the AC200 the power output was around 800 watts. I wonder if the RV was charging it's batteries from the AC200?

That's pretty impressive. It actually ran the AC for over an hour. So you could run whatever you needed it for during the day, and in the evening run it to cool down your camping unit before bedtime. Another option is to use normal small unit a/c that use 800 watts., which is good enough for 2 vans like this.

Investing in really good off grid a/c could open up a lot of doors to great places. I guess it all depends where you want to go and how comfortable you want to be.

I wonder if the wattage would decrease if there were a Micro-Air Easy Start on the AC. My 13.5 BTU AC on my camper pulls ~13amps (low cool, compressor on) with the Easy-Start so roughly 1,560 watts. I know the EasyStart decreases the LRA but I have no idea if it decreases running amps. Nice demo man! Bluetti is #DOWNTOMOB

Your lucky! This does not work with the Thor tranquillity sprinter van. Comes up saying not a reliable power source. Have to return now.

How much can you push into this with a cigarette port? Will the port need thicker wires? Higher amp rating? Without solar, what's the FASTEST way to charge this from a small van? Will I need an AC inverter? Is a 600 watt inverter enough to run the brick it comes with? or is DC-to-DC charger better?

So should one look for the smallest wattage in an AC? What’s the smallest 450? It says it could cool about 150 sqft. And then I guess you’d need something that has a slow start up feature? van is not a lot of sq ft. you could use a window AC 5000 btu and it only pulls 370 watts so it would give you 4+ hours

I feel like a product designed for supplying power when no outer power is available should focus on reliability. The idea that it has a fancy back lit screen and dual wireless charging is mind boggling. It’s still very cool. But clearly their marketing team has some influence over their engineering team.

I'm wondering if you can hook up a Trojan t-105 battery or Crown 1 battery to it, and it could also charge and use that? Wishful thinking definitely but I wonder......

How has this been holding up over the past few months? Mine is arriving this week and I’m mainly concerned about the inverter insufficiency/parasitic losses. How effective is the draining it to 0% and then recharge to 100%? Is it a major difference or just help out a little? If could provide any numbers regarding your inverter efficiency since you made this video I would sincerely appreciate it! We lose power about once a month in the summer due to storms, anywhere from 15 min to a full a day. I’m planning on using this for those days. Now I’m worried if it’s been sitting for a month or so and then the power goes out and it has lost all of its stored charge I am going to be completely screwed and there’s no point in me buying it if it can’t hold a charge in store for a month or longer

What ac unit is that ? I want to run the rtx2000 12vdc unit of my bluetti ac200max. Could I run an converter out of the 120vac output and take the rtx unit into the converter ?

Why the heck do you need that massive an A/C system in that small van? You could easily cool that van with a 500W A/C if not smaller. Then it would only drain the battery in 3 hours LOL. But with a 400W solar array you could stretch it to 6-7 hrs.

When you "suicide cord" your camper from a battery, you gotta shut off your onboard house battery charger. It will draw anywhere from 300-500w on its own.

I'm building a campervan now and I have 640W of solar for the roof and I've ordered the AC200 to power everything. They claim a September delivery window. I also bought a 5000 Btu window air conditioner (which claims to cool a 150 square foot area...the inside of my van is less than half that, so it should be plenty big enough) that is rated to use 400W. I hope it works out but, given enough sunlight and capacity in the AC200, I plan to run the AC when I can with little to no capacity degradation.

2000 watt generator, 1800watt low cool Ac will give you 1 hour of run time with compresor on all 1 hour. 2000 watts of solar would cover the Ac and keep generator at 100%

When charging the Bluetti 2000wP with solar, should there be any dual shutoff circuit breakers wired in and any inline fuses uses on each panel when charging to the max 700 watts in order to avoid overage amperage?

AC200’s screen is constantly on, even when the AC and DC outputs are off but the unit is left on. Is there a way to switch off the screen on a timer and wake it up when it’s required? Also, if the unit is off, it doesn’t charge unless it is turned on. Other models wake up and charge even if the unit was off, as soon as a charge is provided, is there a way to change that setting?

If you have a lot of solar capability, this $1,200 rechargeable battery serves a real purpose, like powering a small 12 volt compressor fridge? But, then again, you can buy a lot of propane for $1,200?

Can you help me make sense of Open Circuit Voltage? I want to use my Goal Zero Boulder 200 Solar Panel with the AC200, but the AC200 uses 35-150V OCV, and the Boulder 200 is 18-22V and they are wired in parrallel. So will these panels not work? thanks

You need power for your van’s AC? Go with a Honda eu2200 generator, not an expensive lithium battery pack that will run empty, and then need charging.
