Welcome to week 6 of running my small crochet business and a little of my day to day life! This week I apply to be a RU-vid partner, run into a new friend and yarn shop owner who asks if I would be interested in teaching amigurumi, and deal with the day to day of running a small online business.

I taught myself to crochet and knit by watching RU-vid videos. My son wanted me to make my mom a blanket because she told him that once she crocheted a blanket for herself and she lost it in a house fire before I was born. I told him I didn't know how. He said mom you're smart, just watch some RU-vid videos and you'll figure it out. 😅😅 That is awesome that you have your aunt to teach you. That will make some great memories for you. You're doing a great job with your videos. And sorry if I comment is too much.

My rabbit Artemis is the exact same! She does not like to eat hay she rather sleep in hay. So we have to give her more Timothy Hay pellets like a cup a day and since then she has gotten happier and feeling better. Yep I tell people all the time rabbits are a commitment and although amazing, they are not easy. Dogs and cats are easy compared to buns.

So true! They can be so picky and temperamental haha, Fiji is enjoying his time outside for a bit. He likes to eat fresh grass so I guess I'll be growing it inside during the winter haha.

Your videos have been great ! It sucks when it feels like one went well and the numbers don’t show that, RU-vid is amazing in the long term sense that overtime people will keep discovering your content and fall in love with the journey. Awe thank you! Yea it sucks, sounds like it was an issue with YT not sending out the notification… hopefully it’s not a regular occurrence haha. So far YT has been such an amazing and lovely community to be a part of. I totally agree! They are so full of personality, it makes coming into the “office” even more enjoyable hehe.

Hobbii is pronounced hobby, but almost no one calls it that. They have a RU-vid channel where they say it. The pattern stealing is getting nuts. I see pattern tester calls daily on Instagram for things that look to be exact replicas of other popular patterns. Changing a few stitches is still stealing to me. Also congrats on 3000 subs man 👏

I would check out their insta to see how they say it at the start of their lives! I think most North Americas would say Hobby but the Denmark pronunciation is definitely Hobbii! Not that it really matters at the end of the day haha. I know it’s so terrible! I don’t know what the solutions is, someone people that take others patterns and change a few stitches are even worse tho! Art on art theft is wild. Thanks for watching!!!

You had a 5th video? Sometimes I hate the algorithm. If there is a pattern/project I REALLY want to do, I pay for the pattern. I like to refer to a paper copy in my crochet bag (but save stuff digitally). I don't want people lose out - we need to support our designers!

Congrats on the teaching opportunity, I’m sure it will be an interesting side hustle and a fun way to get out of the house, meet different people and also get new ideas. I keep telling myself each year that I’m going to finally make a temperature blanket but I forget to gather up yarn for one at the end of the year and it ends up being mid-year again and I’m kicking myself for forgetting. Does your bunny do the stomps/thumps when she gets mad about something? Also, nice Hedwig tattoo 👍🏻

I guess he doesn’t have anything to be that mad about anymore, aside from his vet visit he’s very spoiled hehe. Awe thanks!! Another great video ! Is Anita just a friend OR is she an assistant, cause she literally just starred at you the entire time as you worked away and said like 2 things, slacker !! Unless her job is to just sit and look beautiful. If so, she is nailing it ! Ehhehehe The last comment about knitting and drape , have you ever thought of Tunisian crochet , tried it ? There is a knit stitch as well. Probably can’t get the effect tho like that amazing crow seater you showed !! My grandmother showed me how to knit, I taught my self to crochet online…..crochet WON and then some. HAVE FUN ! Congrats on the sticker sell outs !

Haha t this point everyone in the office (Fiji & Anita) are basically just here to look cute and judge haha! I have thought about trying Tunisian crochet but honestly I don't think I have it in me to pick up another hobby haha, I was at my limit already but my aunt recently taught me knitting so I really don't have time now haha but its very pretty. @@KnottyBearCrochet the journal came over the weekend so yay! I got it as a gift for my husband and he loved it. He said since it says botany on the book cover maybe we can use it for gardening notes when we eventually get our garden going. Can’t wait for the rest! :)

I bought your crochet journal from your Etsy shop. What iPad app do you recommend me to use for the journal?

Hi, thank you so much! It’s made primarily for Goodnotes, that’s what I use it on myself. I know people that use it on Notability but you need pro to access all the functions I believe! If you’re just writing in it then most page editors should work but if you want full access to the stickers, covers etc I would stick with Goodnotes! I hope that helps. There is a link to a video with instructions on how to use it in the pdf too. Cheers.
