I just splurged and ordered a ring, necklace and earrings! I have wanted them forever and the 25% was a good excuse. So excited. I will treasure them =)
Hi Hannah, NO ZERO MOSQUITOS! Take the metal Lid from any large-jar, turn upside down; Put 2-3 tablesppons of Coffee in center, even instant will do, make a little mound & light the edge up, no need to burn it all at once. The smoke will make Mosquitos & most other flying biters disappear. Even used Coffee Grounds work, just make sure they're dry first. We’ve only used it outdoors.
I watch a lot of vanlife youtubers now, and that's because of you. You were the first person I watched, and it is so nice to see you out and about again, Hannah. There's nothing nicer than being at one with nature. Xx
@jannestoffels7968 Hi. I'm not sure if they're exactly like Hanna. I just like watching people going on adventures in their vans. I put vanlife into RU-vid and then watched a few and chose the ones that resonated with me. Like 'Christian Schaffer', 'Divine on the Road'. Although she doesn't have many videos. I also watch one from the UK, as that's where I'm from. It's a man, and his channel is called 'Love Sundays'. I do watch a couple of people that I found through Hannah, a couple of her friends. 'Isabel Paige' and 'Living to DIY', but you probably know them. Also, 'Ally Marie Brown'. I hope this helps 😊
@@jannestoffels7968 Yes! her channel is still small but I have no idea how her videos haven't blown up yet - Gabrielle Szafir - just super authentic and absolutely beautiful videos! She did road life for a while and just bought a little tiny house that shes renovating but she travels a lot... honestly my favorite channel next to Hannahs right now.
@@jokewbass6345 I was going to recommend a lot of these but for anyone else who resonates with these youtubers, you WILL love Gabrielle Szafir. Again, no idea why the algorithm hasn't caught onto her yet. She posts weekly, is super authentic, and just has the most wholesome and beautiful videos.
And for outside when your having a fire soak some rosemary lavender and mint wrap it in foil and put it in the fire the steam and smoke will deter them from the area 😊
Thank you for setting a great example and bothering to get and use a lifejacket. Going solo is a lot of fun - but you have to get yourself back, whatever happens. “Believe me my young friend, there is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats.” 115 years later you seem to find this to be true (as I do)...
I missed how you travel around with your van back then thats what made me subscribe to you, Its nice seeing you on the road again and relaxing taking things slow ❤😊
Me three! I'd LOVE to see the occasional "thrift with Hannah or "antiqueing with Hannah" video. She used to do things like that occasionally and I always enjoyed them so much. She has incredible taste and tremendous skill with fashion. She's probably better dressed --mostly from thrifts, from what she says--than most anybody I know. She really dresses herself so perfectly for her coloring and figure. Wish I had that talent LOL.
Sorry for your loss. Losing a pet is like losing a family member. At least, that is what it feels like to me. Thanks for sharing your healing journey. Your new little one, Nim, is adorable. Happy trails.
I’m currently sitting in my house wondering what I should be doing….totally get it. I will be picking up a new rescue pup in a couple hours. I lost one of my favorite dogs a couple weeks ago, so the loss of your Dixie hit me in the feels. Running away to heal is how I view getting away from the real life. Hang in there!! Much love and respect!
Hanna, get yourself a P-38 can opener and attach it to your key-ring. Convenient and easy to use military can opener. I've had one on my key-ring for 50 years and it comes in handy in a pinch. Actually, I use mine daily in my kitchen. It has outlasted a number of expensive can openers
I'm sorry about your baby! ❤ I had found a baby rat before moving. She was in the bottom of a tote. Mom never came back, sonwe took her in and hand raised her. She was only 2 weeks old and grew into a huge beautiful rat queen :) the most loving per I've ever had. She was so special. She passes away due to a wheel that her neck got caught in :( I do have a tip: we had bought a rat from a pet store to give her company and she caught an uri as well, and had to go to the vet. They said wood chips hold the urine and can be fatal to store bought rats and mice because they have very sensitive respitory systems. I would suggest changing the bedding. If your other mouse was a wile mouse, she would t have the same issues as the store bought one seeing as they have stronger immune systems! Hope this helps ❤
Get you a small round jar. Add some coffee grounds ,make a mound out of the coffee ,light the coffee with a small torch lighter ,till you see red and smoke. This will eliminate all flying insects. Happy your back in your Element ❤😊
I just really love this. Thank you for always making such lovely videos :') I've personally been stuck in a pretty bad place for a really long time, but your videos always calm me down/make me feel something, like yeah sometimes life is hard, but there's so much more to it. I don't know how to explain it better than that without writing a whole essay about it but I'm very grateful that you share these moments of your life with us.
Nim is adorable. I had two pet rats named Allie and Ellie - Allie is short for Algernon from 'Flowers for Algernon' which is a short story about a boy and a lab rat. It's a tear-jerker but worth the read! And Ellie is short for Spinelli, the author of Stargirl who has a pet mouse named Cinnamon. There are a surprising number of rat/mouse characters in stories when you think about it, so if you get more fur babies you have lots of options! . Fievel, Templeton and Stuart are some faves :)
I can cry because I know what it's like to lose a fur baby. Doesn't matter what kind of fur baby. They grab onto your heart and you love it like a family member or very dear friend. My heart aches for you Hannah. Nim is so cute and just what the doctor ordered.
I was so sad for you last week, I felt that I wanted to just give you a hug and take your worries away. This week, I’m elated at your happiness, freedom and peace. Keep doing what you’re doing Hannah… you’re amazing. Empathy, love and respect from England ❤
After two years of sitting in the same spot I’m ready to hit the road again. In October I’m heading north to Washington (I’m in southern Oregon) and then in November heading south to Arizona and Southern California. I can’t wait for the alone time, the road time. Your videos feed me! I wish I was that independent as a younger woman, but I’m now 66 and I’m going to travel until I can’t. 💜
I was just thinking recently how I missed your van life videos and you post this. I'm so glad to see you getting out and getting a change of pace, you deserve it so much Hannah 🖤 lots of love!
Regarding the mosquitos, I've heard that rubbing a catnip leaf on exposed parts keeps them away. Since catnip is related to mint, you might try mint leaves.
Your van and cabins are my dream. I'm a big hunter and when you said I love when I have nothing to do, that's how I feel when I'm in the woods. Been watching you a long time for inspiration. It's okay to be alone hannah. Sometimes I think some of the stronger ones are meant to be alone but have loved ones close.
Hannah, please be careful when you are out there. I am so sorry about your little mouse. I had four beautiful rats and they all passed. My heart broke with each one of them. People may think we are crazy but if you haven't had a pet mouse or rat you just don't understand at least the majority of people. But always stay visual and stay safe from my pack to yours. From Ohio
Love all your videos! No matter what, if your working on your cabin or your new homestead and van life! You are just a calming person and you’ve inspired so many people including me. I hope you understand that you sharing your most genuine self is that most humbling thing to so many of us. You are very appreciated. Thank you for sharing with us.
I do believe that's the happiest I've seen you in a long time. Even being sad about your loss last week, you seemed as though you were in your happy place.
Omg! I can't believe you're reading that book! I read it (13 years ago) and I could not put it down. I haven't read a book cover to cover since then. His story and writing takes you there with him. Love it!
You've come along way from spaghetti on the roof of your van . Just an observation from someone who has been enjoying your journey for 3 years. Vicariously, love that word. Take care sweet Hannah ❤
Great to see that you got some time to restore yourself… Thought I might recommend an aid to reduce the dust in the back of the van. Perhaps just a large flat sheet draped across the top so all you have to do is remove the sheet and shake it off instead of all the bedding. Stay well.💜
Your life and mine followed similar paths, but in reverse. I started with kayaking and that led to exploring to find 'special' waterways/locations, and that led to finding you and Walter which led to my building my RV "el gran Tiburón blanco". I give you props for finding great camps. I'm not so lucky doing that here in Mexico. Too different a countryside. So glad you took the "time off" and took the girls out in Walter.
Love seeing you back in the Van again. I don’t know what the weather is like there but, it’s hot as hell here in Cali. Even the mountain where my cabin is, has had record heat waves 🥵 The lake is the perfect place for a reprieve ⛰️🌊🛶👙
16:00 "I am just existing and no one knows. I love that." Such an interesting perspective because I feel so the opposite. If no one knows where I am, it doesn't matter if I exist.
I just took my kayak out for the first time this weekend and it was so nice. I was on a lake, so it was a little choppy, but you're right, when you're out there, it's like nothing else matters. I hope you enjoyed your time away from life
Walter is out camping!!!!!!!!!! The area is so beautiful and you needed this for sure after last week to get grounded. Of course if it were me the minute I saw the snake I would be gone😂😂. The meal you cooked with cauliflower looked delicious and this was a great idea for Nimh to have a voyage journey with Despereaux in Walter. Peaceful kayak trip❤ to get rejuvenated
Hannah, i just want to say thank you, it's been such a pleasure to watch you grow over the years.. I don't want to sound creepy, but you are a beautiful person, inside and out.. I truly hope you know your value, because you bring so much joy to this crazy world.. Much respect and love. God bless you.
What a great little kayak. I might have to get one of those. I have the same drive to be alone with no one in the world knowing where I am. You have articulated it the best of anyone I've heard and also have a way of really capturing how it feels. I work with people all day and really value my time alone having my Hannah moments..."WHAT IS LIFE?" lol
We once climbed up a mountain in the Poconos for an overnighter and forgot a can opener. All we had was a can of beans and we had to open it by pounding it with a rock with a sharp point. Nothing ever tasted better.
Walter must be pretty excited to get out & go on more adventures with you. It’s also what I love most about your videos, we never know where you’re going to take us. Hope you enjoyed your time. 😊
I completely feel you I’m running away from real life too, I’m leaving the beach and heading back west. Missouri bound from now. We’ll see how it goes from there
You can change the weather season on the doors. Or just keep a roll of duct tape and it's a bit wasty but just do the seams and or edges b4 u set out. They also make citronella candles if u don't want to haul around a wave emitter fer the squiters. Glad u got a life vest 💜
I just realized how much I missed your van videos 😍 Also: "Does there always have to be a snake?" felt biblical somehow 😂😂 Because apparently, yes, ever since the dawn of time there has always been a snake.
Love to see you back to doing videos like this and taking time for yourself to relax and enjoy Gods beauty in the good ol reliable Walt 😊. ❤ I love seeing you on these little mini getaways on your own. Love to watch you cook and just enjoy the small things in life. I just adore you Hannah. You’re a real inspiration. I can be having a bad day and anxiety will be bad and then I watch one of your videos and they just bring me back and remind me to appreciate the things in life we tend to overlook. So thanks!! ❤❤
