classyt20f7; God works in different ways with each of us. We are all different so He works with us in a different manner. The point is that He brings you back bc some never return, and that's the scary part.
classyt20f7 Seems like you're spiritually broken. I've been there believe it or not, more times than I care to admit. Still I battle the flesh even though I have overcome it through Christ Jesus. This is the key. You have to stop trying to do it yourself bc even when you say you want to stop giving in to sin and you're going to stop its not going to work. Why? Bc we can't do it alone. You got to lay it all down at the feet of the cross and stop trying to take it up again. In other words, keep reading and studying Scripture, keep praying and praising God, even while you're still befallen to your sins bc if the Holy Spirit is in you and it appears that He is otherwise you wouldn't be feeling convicted as you are, then even while you're doing the things I have suggested, and is still sinning, the Holy Spirit will take over and help you and renew you. He will put to death that old you and make s new you. But you have to trust Him by laying it all down. Study the Book of Romans. Paul struggled also.💝

He's real good bc he's been there. He even talks about his divorce and sexual addictions and how God freed him from all of it. God bless
people dont understand we need to be prayer warriors that is the very least we can do ...there is so much evil in this world and evil rules this world we must pray for each other and against evil .. remember everything is predestinated we are too ignorant to see it .. your life is predestined every major aspect is already determined ... All we can do is pray for more insight .

That's good sleep and music and media can become a drug where we run to and get distracted from the things that need to be dealt with and moved from our life.
I've done the same, I've been stuck in that cycle of sleeping the days away to ignore my calling. I think when there is trepidation sleep acts as a false comfort, but I know I must now arise from the slumber and do what God has told me I've been in disobedience.

The only thing stopping us is the thought of looking silly or delusional to a non-believer, we hate to feel shame so we fear to share the gospel of Jesus. But we have to be willing to look like fools to the world. Expect people to look at you like you are weird, YOU WERE ONCE THAT PERSON. Everything is possible with the LORD

Know that we live in an escapist culture.Know that we as humans persons are devotional creatures, that's how God made us. Ask this question, to what and to whom am I devoted today? At the end of the Book of Romans, Paul exhorts us to be ADDICTED to ministry. Is not that amazing? The Holy Spirit anticipated our addictions to anything and to anyone by 2000 years. Look that word addiction up in the Greek, and you will find it means- devotion. At 67 I try to follow this rule, daily: Eat when hungry, sleep when tired,only; if you can't sleep well, just be still, and rest completely, and pray, and finally, exercise when in need of stimulation, constructive stimulation. Ask the Lord for grace constantly. Give each and every part of you to the Lord, including your sleep periods. If you are even willing to be willing, at first, God will see and honor that, and Jesus and His power will more than meet you half way. Remember consciously give your sleep to the Lord.

I thank God the Father of Jesus for never letting me go! Not allowing my sin to disqualify me. So so many walk in condemnation and guilt bc of what we've done. So the LIAR aka the devil plays on that. he tells you how no good you are. Many believe it and NEVER fulfill their GOD ORDAINED PURPOSE. Listen you think you've been thru all the HELL for nothing? You have people assigned to you by God! Thru you and your testimony THEY will OVERCOME. THEY ARE WAITING ON YOU.No man of GOD taught me how to STAND or warfare..the HOLY SPIRIT did. I thank you God for your grace. We all have struggled and it’s a battle in our minds. The enemy is a liar in what he tries to place in your mind to make you think you’re not capable, not good enough or you don’t have what it takes. We must be in constant repentance and stay in the Word. Stay close to Him. He will never give up on you until you have given up on Him. I love how God uses people and how effective and powerful His messages can reach people. I thank God for those who are obedient to the call you never know how it impacts people’s life.

I got my first calling from God in 1993. I never understood cause i was so much into anything but God. Than in 2006 i was brought down on my knees...4 years back i was told at Tabor ashram that God would throw me in the sea like Johnna. Never heard of Johnna so I looked in and have come a long way. I acknowledge God and the Son of the Living God, Lord Jesus as my savior.

Years ago I listened to the Jonah story like listening to a Saturday night radio show. However, after living in the season I am facing, I now understand Jonah's plight! I am doing what the Lord has directed me to do, but I have detested the very place where the Lord has sent me. Now that I have repented, I pray the Lord will redeem my time and send me back to that area. Regarding sleeping on the boat, do you not see a correlation with Jesus and him calming the sea? Jonah's boat mates were nervous, but pagans, crying out for salvation from perishing as the godly man slept. Whereas Jesus's boat mates were followers of Christ, nervous and crying out for salvation from perishing as the man of God slept. Interesting. Either way, both crews were saved and learned a powerful lesson.

Start by telling your neighbors about Jesus. Get into the harvest in your little corner of the field. Start there and He will lead you. I made the excuse that I didn't know what my calling is when I knew deep down but I was too timid. I want to obey Jesus so I I pray for help and courage and witness for Jesus when an opportunity comes. I start there.

It is very important to learn, and Jesus said, Learn of Me, daily, that the following things are NOT, no matter how deep or comprehensive, truth: emotions, feelings, experiences, moods, reactions, influences, opinions, stimuli. What IS truth, then? Jesus said, Thy Word is truth, and Jesus Himself said, I am the Truth, and the Holy Spirit is the spirit of Truth. Ask of God discernment to show you the truth, and discipline you to the same, and live by the truth, and you will find peace. Romans 15:13
I believe this lesson wasnt only for Jonah but a reaassurance that God's calling cannot be forfeited. If He calls you you will fulfill it, even if your running away. Jonah is rather a blessing for us that we cannot run away from our calling. If we cannot run away then our calling doesnt depend on us.

@Marie W 777 You`re correct. I was referring to God, being unable to take care of His "children". Just let me add a small detail, nothing happens without God`s permission. So those lives that are cut short, are part of God`s plan...

So, you`re saying that only good things happen according to God`s plan but bad ones don`t ? LOL Where did you get it from ? Where did you read it ? Isaiah 45:7 King -" I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things". Absolutely everything happens to His plan, according to scriptures.
True. Many people run from the True God Yah. We all run away from truth at some part of our lifes. But, RUNNING will not turn not turn a truth to a lie. Gods words you dont have to keep it a SECRET. I'm not sure the Jonah story was ever ment to be applied to believers in general when there journey or purposes for God seem at a stand still but i do know this much that the same God who calls us by grace is the same God who keeps us from falling. Knowing my failings everyday but rejoicing in Gods faithfullness to complete what he has begun in us and through us until the end . Amen
Just a thought : when bad things happen to us in life ( which can be a satanic attack on us eg Job or as the result of a generational curse ) and we experience a mental breakdown, cortisol is released on a long- term basis which in turn causes physical illness and disease from acute and chronic inflammation which stops our immune system from working. The body's response ( which is also a spiritual response) is to rest and sleep. This in turn helps to heal the damage done by the cortisol to our bodies and the "coma" of our mind ( which is unable to think and to deal with the most basic of daily tasks) helps to heal the mind. So, sometimes, when we are not running from God's requests, but experience breakdown, we are simply healing from satanic attack. That we can find a space and time within which we can rest, sleep and heal, is in itself, a gift from God. Obviously, all illnesses are attacks in someway, somewhere and our best help is to seek God's advice and healing. But I don't agree it is always because we are ignoring God's call.
jdfodio Sometimes it's guilt and fear of punishment; think Adam and Eve hiding, or attempting to, from God, in the Garden of Eden. God put our punishment on Jesus, due us, on Him. We need to praise Him for that. The truth is God is running to us, in love, as the father in the prodigal story relates. Run to Him, and He will run to you.
