Running Brixworth Country parkrun. A stunning run in Brixworth Country Park next to Pitsford Water!

We were staying in Market Harborough for the Run Rabbit Trail Festival where Danny and I had been asked to speak on stage for a With Me Now Podcast 90 minutes. I also gave a 30 minute talk on my marathon and ultra exploits. To make the most of the weekend we travelled down on Friday so that we could check out a new parkrun. There were lots to pick from but Brixworth Country parkrun looked great on paper, running next to Pitsford Reservoir, and it didn't disappoint.
Brixworth Country parkrun is stunning! With all amenities in one place and a fantastic playground as well as a music/nature garden next to the cafe then Brixworth Country parkrun stole our hearts. The team were fantastic and the course is incredibly beautiful. Definitely worth a visit!

I love the way you run for the simple pleasure of running and not always bogged down about times etc..bonus a fellow veggie too👍.. so funny , it doesn't matter how fast I run or how well I'm training I always stop for bee, snail and caterpillar rescues. 🐌🐛🐝.

I loved this one! Brixworth is our NENDY and we've run it twice as part of the brilliant Northants 5k series. Thanks for a fab video Nic, reminding me that we need to knock this one off the list!

Oh those poor snails - it took Brian ages to get where he was and he got moved back to the start post ;-) You or Poppy need to stand there until he gets where he wants without getting crushed by nasty humans 😜 Gosh that half way point was like a finish funnel - I would have sprinted up there and blown it for the rest of the run. Lovely video of another lovely parkrun - I didn't even know that one was there - not that far from me! Thanks for sharing.

Ooh definitely worth a visit if it's not too far away! We loved it! Despite eating lots of flies and getting in trouble with all the local snails 😜😂

Hi Nicola, Greetings from Auckland, New Zealand. Loving the content from the park-runs to the longer events, my parents live in West Yorkshire so its especially interesting seeing some of the places. Keep up the good work, you are providing plenty of us with a bit of sanity in our days, and of course lots of running inspiration. Cheers Colin

Thanks Colin 😊 it's a shame I wasn't vlogging when we did Cornwall Park as we loved NZ! There must be a big West Yorkshire/Auckland crossover as the Run Director when we were there was Jeff from Leeds! 😃

@@NicolaRuns Yes I think you are right, I did Cornwall Park a couple of weeks ago for the first time and I definitely heard the Yorkshire accent. There are a few more Park Runs here now, which is great. Take care 😀

3, 2, 1 Parkrun! is my absolute winner for starting a Parkrun. It's the way they've always started the Jersey Parkrun, but so few seem to use it! Looks like a beautiful course, great video once again.

So I have a tale of bravery!! I wanted to share because I know you will understand... So I also avoid cows at all cost.... Fast forward to yesterday which was jurassic challenge marathon... Was lovely, felt great untill the mile!!!! Of shingle.. Horrible horrible wet shingle and then yayy signposted into a field.. Entrance absolutely stuffed with cows.. I didn't care at that moment as ANYTHING rather the shingle which tells me one thing... Yup I am worried by cows but terrified of shingle 😂

What a lovely parkrun! Is Poppy vegetarian too? I often wonder with children as they do tend to be influenced by their parents even when it’s not put on them, for example my sister is vegan and over time my nephew (similar age to Poppy) has decided on his own to be vegetarian, although she was always willing to buy him meat if he wanted.

Poppy is veggie. I never wanted to give her meat because if she asks me when she's older "why didn't you give me meat?" I can answer confidently and happily. If it was the other way I couldn't answer "why did you make me eat meat when you don't eat meat?" I'd feel sooooooo guilty! Now she's older she can choose but it's funny because Poppy is much more 'vegetarian' than I am! I believe everyone has the choice but Poppy feels VERY strongly about not eating meat. It's definitely interesting ☺️ So yeah... She's been veggie her whole life 🤗

How much of this run is on a softer surface than tarmac? Looking for a lower impact one this week 😁 tia

Hmmm... It's pretty much all on proper paths so I'm not sure it'll be what you're looking for. It's only the start/finish on grass... But... Most of the way round there is grass at the edge of the path so you could probably run a whole lot more on grass if you wanted to 🤔 It's a stunning parkrun but I'm sure you can find one that's run on grass or actual muddy trail rather than path. Hope this helps 🙃😊
