That was brilliant. Being one of the players in said lockdown games, it's fun being able to recognise aspects of your experiences. For anyone considering running this, I can honestly say it ranks amongst my favourite ever. My main experience as the captain was a concern about not annoying others by being bossy, but also not being indecisive - This actually ramped it up.
Game went great, just finished the first chapter in a 4 hour session. Free league games are always solid to play. Running mutant zero tomorrow. Alien stress system worked perfectly.
Great run down, I'm due to run COTG on Thursday and these kind of videos are helping massively, thanks for putting this content up for us burgeoning GM's. I've only run Call of Cthulhu prior so will be a bit of a challenge.
Awesome! Glad you liked it and I hope it comes in helpful. The adventure escalates really nicely so take your time and get comfortable. if you need time as a Game Mother then just keep quiet - it freaks players out loads :)
I am thinking making the air deplete without the rolling. I had a crew that kept rolling awesome so they never had to take off their suit and the pressure was off.
That could be a good way of really putting the pressure on. When I played it face-to-face I set a timer for the oxygen rolls to go off every ten minutes
@@toyznthehood That is a good idea. There are so many balls in the air that its really easy to forget. And the dread of running dry and have to breathe in the rich local air adds time pressure, dread and desperation. Thank you for the tips I have been asked to run COTG as a 3-5 hour session on two conventions. It will be a lighter version so I will have to trim it down quite a bit and maybe do some editing. The whole pirate thing has to go and that was why I could use the lack of air as a enzym to accelerate the story. And I might have to rethink the endgame options.
I made sure the suits were pretty bulky and tough for them to do any fine manipulation tasks while wearing them. Think alien suits (m50?) Because they'd be cheap and easy to get. Then they needed to get out of them for some tasks.
I got most of them off eBay - if you search Alien Eaglemoss Figures that will find the toys - that's the figures and the ships. the Pulse Rifle was also from eBay - printed 3d Pulse Rifle. I think it's basically this - cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/aliens-pulse-rifle-m41a-moving-parts-new-shotgun-update. @@amekomidarake The bloodburster is a conversion of the old Alien3 Halcyon models from nearly 30 years back. I resculpted the head and tail and then twisted the legs to make it. I'm really please with how it came out - it's one of my favourite things in the new movies
